non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening
(...) I'm in the capital city, where some friends are gathering to go to some party. We are all dressed up at someone's house, waiting for a few others who are late. Someone asks me to go knock at some door on some nearby building to check if they're coming. Outside, I hear a loud noise above the buildings and planes start falling from the sky. Chaos ensues on the streets. Lights and almost everything electronic goes off. People are confused, but I can imagine either a nuclear bomb or the sun have caused an EMP, so I know this is probably only the beginning of our problems. Shit hit the fan!
I still go knock at my friends door, but she is not there. Instead, I find a guy, maybe her boyfriend, with her daughter. He asks if I can take care of the kid because he is scared and wants to leave, but I am already into survival mode and I am not going to take his responsibility in my hands. The clock is ticking and I have my own agenda. I tell him she will likely come back to get her daughter and he should wait for her.
Back to the first house, the group has decided to go look for answers. They found some van that is still working and will go to a nearby coal burning plant to find out why we don't have energy on the city. It's a silly plan, but I go with them. I see signs that some people are already stockpiling and looting, but most people are still unaware of what's going on and haven't freaked out yet.
Outside this industrial facility, there's a kind of worker's village that looks more like a ghost city, except for a crazy old lady that comes out of a house with a knife and tries to stab me. She is short and fat but she is like possessed and has imense strength. I have a hard time escaping her. The others start running each one in a different direction and I get lost from them. I hide in some bushes on the outskirts of this village and decide that it's time to go back home. I remember having learned that in a situation like this we should hide during the day and walk by night and I decide doing so. That's when I realize: I don't know how to guide through the stars, I don't have a compass, I don't even have something to stay warm at night, water and food. At the same time, I realize I'm just dreaming this, but the conclusion is still valid. If it were real, I wouldn't be prepared. I decide then that on waking up, will make arrangements to always be prepared with a kit for such kind of situations. Then I wake up.
Back to dream... I've reached the capital again. I have to cross it to head home. Not many people are outside, most have abandoned the city or are waiting indoors. There are some vandals on the streets, looting, destroying, but not yet picking up with the "good citizens", but there's tension in the air and they can become agressive towards us at any moment. A mother with his kid ask me if they can join me in getting out of the city. I'm not very proud of my attitude, but I say no, I want to be on my own, they'd be a burden.
Walking on the highway to home, I pass by a service station to pick up some water and maybe food. It's mostly deserted but a big guy appears suddenly, looking at me with hungry eyes. I put on my strong face and say "if you think I'm an innocent and helpless girl, think again." And I kick his ass with my flying ninja powers.
I eventually arrive to my hometown where I find my family and Riverstone. We're kind of safe there, we get organized, we establish a community and we even have a functioning vehicle. At some point later on, we need to go back to the city to get something important. The city is now a warzone. We camp discretely at some park and do our mission. But before we go back home, I tell Riverstone we're not far from Nighthawk's house and I wish to go try to find him. He says it's dangerous and chances are low, but I go anyway.
I do find him. He leads a small group of survivors on that area. He takes me to the top of an abandoned warehouse where we see everything around but we're out of sight. He grabs me by my waist and softly cuddles my bellybutton. It feels strangely sweet and hot. Then we hear commotion below us and we notice some bandits approaching with guns. We get to the ground and everything happens very fast. Riverstone appears and grabs my arm. Nighthawk pushes us away from there and then runs towards the danger. I shout for him to stop and come with us, but he is decided to delay the bandits. Riverstone takes me and the others to the vehicle and out of there. I cry for Nighthawk. I fear he might die to save us. But as we gain distance, I feel in my heart that he is still alive and that we will meet again.
