    1. I Am Gyorco!

by , 03-28-2014 at 02:47 PM (Inside the Mind of Mattlantis)
Hello again. Going to try getting back into lucid dreaming AGAIN because I'm sick of having so few, badly remembered, non-lucid dreams. I'm a freshman in college now, but without further ado, here's my last dream.

As with many of my dreams, this was heavily influenced by video games. This one was similar to Blue Dragon, a turn-based rpg, although with much more customizable skillsets and characters. I was there, although I looked a bit like Shu from Blue Dragon, and the other characters were Alisa from Gods Eater Burst, a darker skinned guy who was rather quiet and came from a bad background (I think he used to be a bad guy and we recruited him), and some other girl. I vaguely remember being in an underground city similar to Undercity from World of Warcraft and exploring the sewers and tunnels and things. In the dream, you could learn multiple shadows (this probably won't make much sense if you don't know Blue Dragon) and assign each one different skill and traits. I had one dragon that I set to be a damage dealer with some tanking capabilities who attacked at a medium speed. You could set whether you wanted a character to attack quickly, resulting in 3+ strikes in one turn, medium, resulting in 2-3, or slow, resulting in one powerful strike each turn. You could learn new shadows by finding spheres in certain areas, and at one point, the dark-skinned guy and I found two so we each took one. I got a dragon that looked bulkier and older, and he got a strange looking minotaur. I decided to assign this dragon to be a heavy hitter, so I set it to slow and started speccing it to hit heavily but with no tanking abilities. Unlike Blue Dragon, we were not dependent on our shadows for every attack, and we actually used weapons. Different types of weapons could only be used with certain attack speeds, and at one point I found 3 clubs with great stats so I ended up switching everyone to slow except the fourth girl, who remained fast because she had a dagger. I assume the shadows were reserved for special attacks and magic.

At some point I ran into a "friendly monster" named Gyorco who would trade me random monster parts for rare items. He was tall with long limbs, slightly resembling a troll. We found him several times as we were exploring this large plains area, killing things for experience. Then later, we found another "friendly monster" who looked similar to Gyorco, however, this one was rather timid and seemed as if it had just recently mastered the art of speech. It didn't really seem to understand most of what we said to it, and it spoke in short exclamations like "Kill?" and "Scary!" A menu of my possible speech options popped up on the left in typical video-game fashion, and after trying Talk, Shop, and Approach (none of which had any real results), I tried the option that seemed like a joke: "I AM GYORCO, MASTER MERCHANT!" Surprisingly, it worked, and the monster warmed up to us and ended up trading with us.

    2. First Flight

FINALLY had a lucid after WAAAY too long, and boy was it awesome!

I'm not 100% sure this is the same dream or not, but I was in a high school which had at least 3 floors, kind of roaming and messing with the teachers. I swapped some of their chairs, and the only teacher I remember clearly was Mrs. Alumbagh, who I had for Bio I freshman year. After this I was talking to a friend, and we were looking for a periodic table so I could show him the difference between two types of chemicals. They don't exist IRL, but their names were something similar to aerobic and anaerobic. We eventually found one in a "Chemist's Encyclopedia," and the blocks were different colors to indicate which they were.

I was on the computer at my dad's on yahoo, reading about something some scientists discovered, which seemed to point into the fact that soon, either the Earth would fall into the Sun, or there would be a gigantic solar flare which would mutate the planet. In retrospect, the reading was a little hard, and parts of it kept changing, but I didn't notice. And apparently the giant solar flare would come from a volcano on the Sun, which there were three of. I read something about a new heavy metal forming in the Sun and igniting, and suddenly my room was a lab and a scientist was demonstrating it to me. He held up two of those sparking things that you might see in a chemist lab, and one had a very flammable material in it, cotton I think, and the other was designed to be MUCH hotter, and had a ball of iron in it. He was showing that anything can burn if it gets hot enough, and they had identical puffs of flame. My recall (or the dream) skips, and I"m now outside my grandma's old house, which we now own and rent out. I rememer thinking briefly about dreaming and how awesome a lucid would be, so I plug my nose, and experience the familiar feeling of numbness and air flow. I thought this was a little funny, and walked around for a moment while trying to think of what to do. I got pretty excited, but thankfully I didn't wake up. I remembered to look at my hands, and other than my arms being narrower, the ridges on my hands being exaggeratedly detailed, and a few of my fingers being closer together than they should be, they were pretty normal. As I looked at my hands, the scene changed around me and I was now inside my step-grandpa's house. I remember rubbing one hand on a table to feel it, and it was smoother than I expected. I went outside onto the porch, when flying came to mind. I have flown before, but never in a lucid. My friend David suddenly texted me about starting a new game on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon as a Pikachu, but I knew it was a dream so I ignored him. I didn't hesitate, I walked to the edge of the porch and threw my arms and legs back like Iron Man (for some reason the German V-2 rocket came to mind, which I'm sure helped), and I was moving the fastest I've ever moved in a dream, vertically. I smiled and got to a height of maybe a couple hundred feet, before leveling off and flying into what looked like Palmont City from Need for Speed: Carbon (been playing it a lot recently). I saw a tricked out heliotrope (purplish-pink) truck with little kids swarming around it and found this intriguing, so I landed. In the driver seat of the truck was a bird girl, who resembled Wave from Sonic Riders, who I somehow knew from a cartoon in this dream. She looked very exasperated and couldn't move her truck. We made eye contact, and something passed between us, though I'm not sure what it was. She kindly asked the kids to let me into the truck, and I walked around to the passenger side and got in. I may have lost lucidity at this point. The truck had no passenger seat, just a little space where you could climb into a small back room. She jumped on me and pushed me back there, which had a little mat on the floor. I asked her her name, and she said Tortellini. Somehow I already knew this and was "just being sure." We started groping and kissing each other, though my memory of this part is hazy at best. The next thing I knew, the kids were gone, and we were outside on the sidewalk, putting our clothes back on as if we had just had sex. I smiled and said goodbye, then went flying again. I wound up flying in front of a giant computer screen-like wall, which was showing [CLASSIFIED]. I [CLASSIFIED] then when I [CLASSIFIED] I woke up about halfway, and could still feel it, as if I was [CLASSIFIED] IRL was well. I woke up completely and thankfully, I wasn't.

    3. ¿Quatro Sueños? ¡Muy Loco!

I don't think my recall has ever been this good! Four dreams in one night? That's unheard of for me! I think anally writing in my dream journal has helped. The melatonin too.

Me, two friends, and a teacher/commander dude were in a space station. From the inside, it looked like a standard building on Earth, complete with full gravity, though it had a la-bor-a-tor-y feel to it. One of the rooms had an entire wall open to space, though we could still breathe and nothing was getting sucked away. This was the room where we put on our space suits, which were drastically slimmer than the RL models, though they still had the clichéd bubble helmet. The three of us (not the commander) squeezed into a satellite looking thing, that took us out into the asteroid field. When we got out and set foot on an asteroid, the commander was already there, with no spacesuit (and may I say the stars in the background looked pretty cool). The gravity was less, but still very present. He gave us these weird grid bubble tray looking things. Basically a 3D light blue grid with bubbles where the lines intersected. We were to pull these through floating dust on the asteroids, which collected something from the dust into the bubbles. I think it may have been water. Once we filled all of them, we got back in the satellite/ship, went back to the station, and put away the trays and suits.

      Fattest. Chipmunk. Ever.

There was some type of zombie/mutagen virus scenario going on, in my house. Me, my mom, and some stereotypical zombie game protagonist were sitting in the living room watching TV, when my mom told me to go get a tissue and blood sample from one of the infected. Apparently we kept all the infected out of one half of the house, because beyond this half there was blood and dirt everywhere. I'm not sure how we pulled it off, since our house is pretty open, and anything could just walk through it. When I went over there, I saw a bloated infected chipmunk chasing a healthy one, and the only way it could move was by flopping. His stomach was easily the size of two tennis balls. He eventually gave up on chasing the other one, then I made a whistle that my cat usually responds to, and he started enthusiastically following me. I remember thinking "I don't wanna touch that," and leading it onto a hand towel laying on the floor. Then I took a blade/chain/whip thing, and sliced into its neck, reluctantly killing it. I did it again, at a different angle, then tore out a chunk of perfectly white flesh with red spots. It reminded me of a potato. My mom walked over and I gave it to her, then she handed me a syringe to get the blood sample.

      Changing in a... Suicide Booth?

I was a member of the Planet Express crew on Futurama, and we were preparing to go on a mission which involved someone putting on a protective suit which just happened to smell like rotting fish. Leela said she couldn't wear it because she had a date tonight, and I of course didn't want to wear that thing, so we made Fry do it (big surprise). He got into what looked like a suicide booth to change, and was trying to put it on with it touching as little of him as possible. We quietly laughed at him as he tried to put it on, and then he fell over inside the booth, the suit touching all of him. Then it went silent, and we walked to the front of the booth (we had been beside it) and saw his silhouette standing motionless. When we opened it, he was hanging from the cieling with no noose, eyes and mouth wide open, as if he was dead. We knew he was playing a joke, then shut and opened the door again. And his jacket was missing. We did it again, and his shirt was off. We kept shutting and opening the door, and every time something was different about his pose. We were impressed that he was able to do that so quickly and silently.

I was at a fair with my dad, step-mom, and step-sister. I don't remember much about this part, but eventually we went to a Wal-Mart nearby to buy something. At one point we came to a "Learn Español" book section. We talked about Spanish for a while, then left and my step-mom said something like "Oh, let's learn Spanish again," to my dad, while clinging to his arm like a three-year-old. Then I guess we forgot something, and turned around to go back into the store. I saw my friend Patricia, and we waved to each other. We went in and out of the store quickly, and this time when we came out Seirra was there. (We were good friends for a long time, then a bunch of regrettable stuff happened and I've been trying to show her how sorry I am, blah blah blah, long story short, she hates me now and talking to her would make me really happy.) She started following us, and said something to me. I thought she was talking to Abbi (step-sister) at first, and asked if she was talking to me. She looked at me as if to say "yes," and we talked casually for a few minutes before I woke up and realized she still won't talk to me.
