Memorable Dreams
Hit another two day snag of no recall. Whereas lately I've been recalling a pretty similar handful of fragments and small non-lucids, this morning's dream was a very long non-lucid, all recalled in a lot of detail. So, without further ado, here's the latest dream adventure: The real world was set up as a sort of role playing game, with items, stats, levels, and magic all being just a normal part of this dream's universe. In comes me, just a humble guy from the local village, preparing a large building in honor of the upcoming arrival of a very important guest. This guest was apparently some famous girl, a girl my dream self seemed to be rather infatuated by. It was normal to be though, as everybody in the village adored her. According to local rumors, she had mystical powers. Some said she was the chosen one. Me, I was just happy to be setting up this nice place for her. According to the people who assigned me the task, the building would need prepared for her to stay in while she visited the village. I even had to go grocery shopping so there was plenty food and drink for her. So the girl, I sadly cannot recall her name, arrived. I took her on a tour of the building, and she was extremely impressed. It's here where things get hazy. But next thing I know... In a twist of fate, the girl turned on the townsfolk. She revealed her true evil intentions, and transformed the building into a deadly dungeon filled with traps and monsters and just all around evil crap. It had turned out that all my preparation of the place was really just a trick to get it in good shape for all the previously mentioned things. I was devastated. Heartbroken. The townsfolk held me responsible, saying that I must go deal with her or suffer the consequences. And so I did. Heading into the building, I was surprised to not find any traps or monsters at the front door, but instead, the girl herself. She was acting more like her kind self from before, but this illusion didn't last long, and she quickly transformed into her true form, a hideous red monster with wings. It was then that I knew what I had to do. Running outside, I quickly found a climbable pathway up the side of the tall building. I scaled it, and reached the open-roofed top, where I found some potions to help me conduct a powerful magic spell. The spell, which took quite a moment to prepare, transformed the entire building back to normal in a dazzling flash of light. As for what happened to the girl in the aftermath...nobody saw her ever again. An explosion of detail, if I do say so myself... Let's keep it up! Also, what a dream.
Had another lucid dream this morning, with this one being the most clear-cut example of a DILD I've had to date. This also marks the first time I've had two lucid dreams in one month, (as far as I remember), so I'm patting myself on the back. I had two fragments from other wakings in the middle of the night, and both of these fragments involved work and coworkers. I'm starting to think this is becoming a dream sign. This lucid came about when I woke up 20 minutes prior to my alarm for work. I went back to sleep, and... I was in my high school science class, and there were plenty of familiar faces around me. However, my friend Garrett wasn't there, so I decided to go look for him outside the class. I exited into the hallway, and went around the corner to a spot I knew he always was at, but upon finding this corner, he was no where to be seen. It was at this point that I got suspicious, and decided to do a reality check, with me questioning if I was dreaming. I did the nose pinch a few times, and every time I did, I could breathe, but I didn't notice that was weird until the third time it happened. Once I realized, I was lucid. "This is a dream," I thought to myself. Immediately once I went lucid, my view shifted, and everything suddenly became much more vivid and detailed, but also more shaky. I looked at my hands and studied them, hoping to stabilize the dream. My thoughts briefly wandered to me in my bed, and I almost woke up. But, instead, I re-focused on my hands and just as the dream was fading, I teleported a few feet in front of me and everything was back to its vivid self. I was very excited, and wondered what I should do. I decided to go find some of my other friends, who were probably in gym class right about now. I thought about being at gym class, and POOF, I was there, only now, I was floating. I floated around, enjoying the feeling of hovering, and watched my classmate's reactions. Once I exited the gym, I briefly considered what I should do next, but... Then I woke up. The lucid itself felt about 5 minutes long, which is the longest I think I've had, or close to it. And teleporting is a new for me as well, which was surprisingly easy for me to do, although if it did make the dream less stable, I certainly didn't notice it.
Thankfully, I recalled a pretty good amount of a dream this morning! A very weird, kind of sensual dream at that. And it's a weekend, no less, which my recall has tended to be crappy on lately. But first, a very small fragment from when I woke up in the middle of the night: My dog, Jesse, was tackling me and licking my face (as he does constantly IRL). However, it soon got to the point where I could no longer breathe, and I was gasping for air as Jesse continued to try to love on me. Running (or nearly running) out of breath caused me to wake up with a start, but I quickly fell back asleep to have the former, more vivid dream I mentioned. I was at a large mansion on a school trip with a lot of classmates whom I don't actually know. There were about...40 or so of us altogether, including myself. The trip involved us going on a guided tour of the mansion. All of the students were about the same age as me. In any case, soon after the tour started, one of the girl classmates came up to me and started whispering flirty comments into my ear. Shocked, and a little embarrassed, I turned to face her. Strangely, she did have a familiar quality about her, like I should know her from some where but in reality I don't actually know who she is. Her hair was short, messy, and light brown, and she had very fierce eyes. I asked her why she was doing that, but I don't quite remember her response. The rest of the tour went on like this, with me trying to pay attention to the tour guide while she continually tried to seduce me, whispering comments and hugging me without anyone around us even noticing (somehow). Eventually when the tour ended, we decided to hang out and discuss a whole number of things. As we were wrapping up this discussion, she decided to take more physical action, and pulled closer to me. I tried to pull away, and that was when my parents walked in on us and scolded me, with me being like and telling them it's not what it looks like. After all of this happened, my girlfriend joined me on a wild ride in a futuristic car in an even more futuristic looking city. Weirdly enough, this was in the same dream, and followed immediately after the prior events, with the mysterious girl just vanishing without a trace. The city glowed neon, and I was awed by the sights. Annnnd that's everything. Very odd dream, but nice and vivid.
It goes mostly without saying that I haven't had a lucid dream in a while! This is primarily because of my tendency to lose motivation for periods going on months. The funny thing is, I've been in one of those periods for the past month; i.e. not recalling any dreams, and generally just having no will to do so. Then, out of complete no where, I had a lucid dream last night. It really was the most random thing. Not that I'm complaining! It's been so long since my last lucid that I forgot how good it felt. I was in a mall with most of my mom's side of the family. My baby cousin, Presley (who is a little over 2 years old), started speaking full, sophisticated sentences and running around the mall at speeds not normal for a human being. For some reason, THIS of all things is what caused me to go lucid after a couple of years of no lucids. Seeing Presley act like this caused me to think that this couldn't be happening. This must be a dream. The clarity hit me like a truck, and the excitement came just as fast. I stood stock still for a moment and told myself to calm down, and to help stabilize the dream, I held my hands in front of my face and examined them closely while trying to relax. It seemed to work, and the dream gained even more clarity. From this point, my mind was racing on all the different things I wanted to try and do. Rather than do something crazy though, I decided to explore the mall peacefully, seeing what I could find. I remember a vague thought crossing my mind, 'Maybe I should go to the world from my comic,' but I didn't end up doing that. The mall was quite big, and looked very similar to the main lobby-like area of Bioshock Infinite's Burial at Sea: Episode 2, the area where the Big Daddy roams around. Luckily for me, there was no Big Daddy. ...As far as I know. I ended up finding a store where a bunch of teenagers were partying. Can't remember what exactly the store was, but the inside was flashing with neon lights, strobe lights, pretty much all the lights you can dream of. I approached the group of people... And then that's all I remember from there. Not sure if more happened and I just don't remember, or if I woke up at that point, but I'm leaning towards me waking up. This is probably the longest lucid I've had yet, clocking in at about 3 or 4 minutes, whereas my other lucids have been anywhere from 5 seconds to 1 minute. Not only that, this is the first time I've ever stabilized the dream (which could have something to do with the longer time, now that I think about it... ). Not sure how I thought to examine my hands for further clarity, but I have read that tip before in the past, so it must have come to mind. Definitely exciting though! A random lucid dream after two months of no recall whatsoever. Now if I could just stay motivated towards it all.
It's been a little while since I last recorded a dream (almost a month in fact). Luckily, I had a big burst of recall this morning, remembering one specific dream in vivid detail. Don't know what caused it to spike back up, but I was on a trip, so I did sleep somewhere other than home. I went to school with my girlfriend (yeah, throwing in the big dream signs already). This school was a mish-mash of various real life and fictional places, though mostly real life. When my girlfriend and I arrived at the school, we both went to our separate classes. It was shaping up to be a very good day, because both John and Hank Green (of Vlogbrothers fame) came to our class and chose me to interview them in front of the students. I had to prepare my questions, while they went off to a separate room to wait. As I was preparing, a couple of students started messing with me and really began to piss me off. Eventually it got to the point where I shoved one of them out of my personal space and began yelling at the entire class, telling them they're all a bunch of jerks and they have no respect. At this point, obviously, I was quite embarrassed! So I ran out of the classroom, not knowing where to go. I decided to try to find my girlfriend to tell her what all happened, but when I found her, I got even more upset since she was giving most of her attention to some guy named Cody. This just wasn't my day! I ran away from that too and started hiding in various parts of the school, occasionally running away if the principal was near. This is where it started to get even more odd. As I was wandering through the school, I stumbled into none other than Auron from Final Fantasy X (and wouldn't you know it, I bought the HD remaster a few days ago). Auron ended up giving me good advice and told me not to feel bad about it all. "Just apologize. Go back in there and be cool about it." I gave him my thanks, feeling a lot better. So, of course, I took his advice to the letter and ran back to the class, apologizing in front of everyone and going back to my seat to prepare for my interview with John and Hank Green. What a graceful dream THAT was. Lots and lots of running and hiding. Moral of the story: Final Fantasy X cheers me up.
The dream I remembered this morning felt like a shortened version of a week. I was living with my girlfriend at this school, but it wasn't a normal school. They had the students partner up and stay there for a week, answering questions every now and then to see if they could succeed. My memories of the events there are scattered and random, but here's a few: -My girlfriend and I checking out the food selection. -Opening the door in our classroom/sleeping room to see an ocean. -Trying to find my friend Aaron but never managing to find him, even though he said he was there. -Having a quiz in class to write about your strangest memory and say it to the class. I couldn't figure it out. -Having to do a group presentation with your partner. -Telling off a bunch of jerks in masks who were trying to harass me. Things really took a turn for the worse when the week was almost over. My girlfriend and I were exploring the kitchen area of the place. She split up and went downstairs to look at something while I was looking at something else. When I finally went downstairs, and looked around, she wasn't there, but the jerks from earlier were. They tried to attack me, but I ran back into the building and kept the doors from closing by sticking my leg in between them and making them open again. When we got up the stairs, I fought them and they ran away, but then some other dude came who was half fox half man, and was using a rapier. I ran away from him, shouting my girlfriend's name, but all of a sudden the lights went out. They were closing up the kitchen for the night. No, no, no, no, I thought. I ran back to the entrance, the fox guy now gone. The door was locked tight, but I saw some light on the other side. I banged on the door, yelling for help, but no one came. Eventually I managed to bust through the door myself, and of course they appeared when I did that. As I made my way back to my classroom, I felt scared. I looked and looked for my girlfriend, but she wasn't there. I asked everyone, and they said they haven't seen her. And that's when I woke up. A bit of a scary dream in some ways.
After a 10 day dry spell, I suddenly remembered lots from my dreams last night, which has made me more hopeful for future endeavors. Good amounts of detail remembered from these two dreams. The first thing I can recall doing in this dream is attending a class at school. It looked similar to my science class from middle school. I met a girl there who I quickly became friends with, though I can't remember anything she said. She had long brown hair and was, unlike a lot of the girls around her, wearing no makeup. The girl and I walked down the school hallway, which also looked like my middle school. We heard a stern voice and looked over to see my high school Japanese teacher yelling at some students for not following the rules and listening to him. The girl and I then attended a version of my middle school English class, except that it was much bigger and more surreal-looking. They were handing out applications for college that let you skip a year and then take a two year course. Naturally, I went to go grab a paper, but when I got up there all the papers were buried underneath heavy books and I couldn't get them off. As I was struggling, a kid I know told me to sit down because I was taking too long. This next dream was a continuation of the previous dream, I think. If it was a different dream, it didn't feel like it. I was outside now, this time at a warped version of my old day care. There were multiple cats walking around, mewing and staring at me. I saw my luggage opened up and arranged neatly on a nearby brick wall (I'm on vacation in real life right now). I explored a little and discovered a small tube with the top part of it cut off. Somehow I determined that I had to fill the tube with water to raise a nearby chain and cut the chain to get a prize. Sadly, I don't recall what the prize was. I also noticed a white cat with orange and black spots hanging out near this area, and I tried to pet it, but it ran off. I then noticed a small toy on the ground. Picking it up, it turned out to be a Boo from Mario, except it was Blue in color. I opened it up and discovered small boo candies inside of it. this reminded me of a toy I have in real life that looks like a Mario mushroom and has mushroom candies in it. I sat down and looked at the candies, but then noticed four hunters with long beards, laughing and walking by. They glanced over at me. "Hello!" one said, raising his gun. "Sup," I said simply. They laughed and started walking away. "Have fun!!" I yelled. They laughed at that too and kept walking. They gave me a creeped out feeling. I woke up and was going to stay up, but fell asleep for a few minutes and had a little dream that I remembered upon waking. I walked downstairs in the rental house we're staying at right now, and the guy who owned it and his kids were talking with my grandpa and laughing. I walked out to the porch, where my mom and dad were swinging. "He seems nice," mom said. "What're we all doing right now?" I asked. "Hanging out with you all!" dad exclaimed. And then I awoke. Not terribly interesting, but it's something! Thankfully, this dry spell broke~
Remembered two dreams from last night. The first was relatively short. Suda51 came over to our house for dinner. Needless to say, I was excited as hell to meet him. We greeted each other, and then he pulled some mashed potatoes out of the fridge. "Tabemasuka?" he asked. I was confused at first, but rembering that I knew Japanese, I replied, "Hai! Tabemasu." okay, so the next one is a lot more crazy compared to the last one. And I remember more. My grandma's house, on the outside, looked like this huge, foggy, dark mansion. We were headed there to spend the night; that is me, my friend/rival Seth, and two 10 year old kids who I don't know IRL. We spent the night there, and the next day, loaded up our Gamecube controllers. They were our guns. We headed down to the basement of my grandma's house which strikes me as funny now, because last night, I was sleeping in one of the guest rooms IN that very basement as I was having this dream... The basement looked pretty normal, just like I remembered it, albeit a bit darker. One of the kids flipped the lights on and we all headed over to a darker corner near the end of the basement. Seth and I stood back as the two kids slammed open the storage room door and went in, Gamecube Controller Guns at the ready. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" I heard a shout come from the hallway. TWO shouts. The two boys. I feared the worst. "What is it??" I called out. "Is it a necromorph??" apparently my mind was fixated on Dead Space at this moment Without an answer, the kids came stumbling out. I held up my Gamecube gun at the storage room door, preparing for whatever despicable creature might pop out. A few moments passed...and then............... two guys popped out of the storage room, looking exhausted. I held my gun down and stared in disbelief. "That's all you were screaming aboout? Oh, c'mon!" I walked over to the TV, and the kids followed. They hopped down, and started playing Resident Evil 4 on the gamecube. I stared at them. "Guys, we're supposed to be hunting." A hand clasped my shoulder and a voice said, "Don't worry about it, they'll be fine." I turned around to see a man I didn't know. He was dressed in a stylish jacket, had pale skin, slicked back brown hair, and wore sunglasses. He held his hand out. "Mind if I play?" For some reason, I didn't question it. I handed him my Gamecube Controller/Gun, and he stared at the TV as he played RE4. And that's all I remember. Pretty weird dream.

These two dreams actually didn't happen the same night, the lucid happened the night before last, while the vampire one happened last night. Decided to record both. I don't remember how I went lucid, but somehow, I was. I was standing in the basement of my grandma's house, sort of shocked I was actually lucid. Then a swell of happiness swept over me, and I immediately rushed down the hallway that led to the stairs. An obstacle was in my way, so I performed a very stylish vault over it. Before I went upstairs, I briefly dwelled on the idea of going back and summoning the girl I like so I could talk to her, but I decided I probably wouldn't be able to, and went upstairs instead. That's all I remember. I do remember losing my lucidity after I went upstairs. My parents and I were at a mall. Seems like I have a lot of malls in my dreams? Hmm. We were trying to shop in peace, but some scary, pale looking man, dressed in a gothic looking suit, was chasing us around the mall. Seeing him really gave me a feeling of dread, and I decided that he's a vampire, since he resembled one. We ducked into a back area and tried to evade him. For some reason, I decided to leave my parents and took off running in the opposite direction of the vampire, making my way to the mall's exit. I stayed outside, panting, and hid behind a bush. I peeked out and saw the vampire leave the mall, looking around for me. He decided to give up the chase, and went to what was supposedly his car. I sighed a sigh of relief. That lucid was pretty interesting in the fact that I was able to pull off an athletic-like vault over that obstacle. I'm not that athletic in real life, so it was really cool experiencing that. Especially considering all of my lucids so far have been like 10 seconds with me just being excited and not doing anything. So far, I've flown, thrown something heavy, and performed a parkour-esque vault. Neat. That vampire dude from the dream was really creepy though. I could draw him right now on a piece of paper because his look and face were both really memorable, still in my memory right now. I woke up from that dream with my heart pounding.
I had various dreams last night, but I forgot all of them except for this one, which I think I had right before I finally woke up. I was in my friend's house for some reason. I didn't know which friend it was, however. Apparently I was staying at this house for a sleepover. Suddenly, I wanted to go to my friend, Aaron's house instead. I looked up at my friend's parents, and asked, "Can I go to Aaron's house?" "But why?" they asked. "I figured I'd spend an equal amount of time here and there as well. We haven't visited each other in a while, so..." "What about Logan?" they asked. Ah. Okay. So this was Logan's house. "What about him?" I inquired. Logan's mom frowned. "Tell us about him." It's too bad my dream self didn't notice how odd this statement was. "Well, he's a great guy, I mean, he's pretty religious too. Does all this stuff for his church, the youth group, things like that." All of a sudden, Logan's sister walked in, hands on her hips. She looked angry. Something weird about this whole thing was that I've never actually met Logan's family up close in real life, I've only heard about them. So I'm assuming how they looked in the dream wasn't true. She glared. For the next 5 or so minutes, she lectured me on how people should act in the world, and how they could make their lives better. I took it all in, and it was actually quite useful advice. Afterwards, time seemed to fly, and Logan's sister and I were watching some anime. I then decided to finally go to Aaron's house, and got a glass of water before I did. Then the dream ended. I'm pretty dismayed I didn't remember the whole talk Logan's sister had with me, because I vaguely remember that what she said was actually pretty true and useful advice.
Recalled a good amount of this one compared to my other dreams. Remembered 3 different dreams last night. I was in a park for some reason or another, as I had to explore it and look for anything strange. The park was big, and it was nighttime, so it was honestly sort of creepy. I ended up finding this girl, no older than 15, who told me her name was Melissa. Right after I met her, it started snowing like crazy and Melissa started to literally freeze. I panicked and tried to warm her up, but it didn't work, and she ended up freezing to death. I had a bad feeling someone did this to her. I went back to some house afterwards only to be greeted by dozens of monsters from the game Killer7. I pulled out a gun and started shooting them, making my way through the random house, thinking that these things killed Melissa. I was at a weird, condo looking place. My cousins and aunt and uncle were in this one too. They said they came to go swimming at the beach. I was going to swim after my little cousin Kaci suggested, but I realized I didn't have any trunks. However, I looked down and saw I DID have trunks on. And it had these weird sticks of gum in the pockets. I pulled them out and showed them to Kaci, asking what they were. This next one's a fragment. My dad and I went to some canyon with a huge water slide on it. These odd, cavemen-esque people were with us, urging us to jump down the waterslide. I jumped down and wooped, excited by the speed at which I went. Happy I could remember 3 different dreams, even if one was a fragment. (:
Getting back into the swing of things. There was a second dream from last night that's on the tip of my tounge that I just can't remember. Ah well. This dream is the one I could remember. I had a wrestling match with some person and when we were done, a random criminal came out to shoot this other person. The shooter ran away after killing the other person, and I gave chase, grabbing whatever I could and trying to throw it at him. I failed though, and funnily enough, I was transported back to the start of the event where I was wrestling. I realized this was like the movie Source Code, and because of this, I tried even harder to go after the killer when he shot the person again. This time, I caught him. I destroyed his gun, and after doing so, was about to restrain him, until he swung his fist at me. Before his blow connected, the dream ended.
I finally broke my dry spell and had a lucid last night. Not only that, I remembered 4 dreams in the morning, which is the most I've been able to remember yet. Here they are in as best an order as I could remember~ Was in a very warped version of my math class. And by warped, I really just mean the length of the room was huge. A bunch of my classmates were there, and we were getting ready to leave class. This part was a fragment. I was at a pool for whatever reason. It was inside an unknown building, and no one else was there. In the next dream, I was in a very dim version of my school's library. I had my mind fixated on finding some book that I can't remember the title of. This next one was lucid. I went lucid instantly, thanks to the BILD method I assume. Maybe not instantly, but it probably dawned on me after a few seconds that I was dreaming. I was in a laboratory, with a computer in front of me flashing a warning message: DISARM THE BOMB. Under these words was a timer that was counting down from 30 seconds. I panicked and started frantically messing with the computer, tapping keys fruitlessly. I wasn't able to disarm it in time, and the whole lab started to blow up, but out of no where, a very pretty DC ran in from somewhere and told me that she was going to save me. She picked me up and ran me out of the lab as it was exploding. The dream then ended. Yay for progress <3
