Fragment of Dreams
Oi, oi, I'm back from the shadows of a five day slump of upset emotions and sadness. Things have cooled down now though, and I've brought two dreams with me for this entry! This first one was from the morning before this morning. I was in a school (who would've thunk it), or more specifically, a choir class. We were all singing some song, and for some reason, all the kids around me were 5th graders, while I was the only young adult in the room, aside from the teachers standing around watching our performance. Suddenly, alarms blared! Doctors came in from every which way! What was going on? The answer to that question appeared in the form of the head of the doctors, a nurse with a demanding presence but kind demeanor. She strolled her way in, feet clacking on the floor as we all stared in a mixture of confusion and horror. She stopped walking, waited a moment, and explained to us that a virus was going through the school. Not just any virus though; it was a lethal, fast-spreading virus, and all of the kids had to be quarantined immediately. With a snap of her fingers, the doctors began rounding up the kids and escorting them out of the choir room. For some reason, nobody came up to me, making me the last one in the room, along with the teachers and the head nurse. There was some more to this dream involving me questioning the nurse about the outbreak, but I don't remember it. Next is my fragment from this morning. And it's real sparse one at that; only specific scenes and characters remembered. A school was involved. (this may as well be a dream sign at this point along with K and my ex). My ex was there. For some reason I was viewing the dream as an observer, but another me was in the dream, or rather, my middle-school-aged self, as one of the participating DCs. My dad was in the dream too, and he was running for president, campaigning through the school. Lately I've noticed a trend that whenever my emotions get upset or sad, it tends to dip my recall the following mornings, whereas if I'm feeling happier and more clear-headed, I tend to have more consistent recall. Don't really know if there's anything to that, but it's been an observable enough pattern that there may be something to it, at least for me.
Monday morning's dream was a pretty teeny tiny fragment, involving a super smart yet annoying guy barging his way into my house and demanding me to solve his riddles. This morning, however, was a bit more fruitful! Especially due to the re-appearance of a dream sign of mine. But first, middle-of-the-night-wake-up-fragments. I was on a huge ship in the middle of an ocean being ravaged by a raging storm. Alongside the storm was, of course, a sea monster, and the whole crew (me included) had to square off against it in an RPG-styled battle. And thennnn! I was homeless, and wandering the cold, dark streets of a city I didn't really recognize. I was trying to find shelter in whatever place I could, till eventually I met this family who decided to take me in for the night. Now for the non-lucid. I was in the house I used to live in, and sitting on the couch nearby was my ex and her boyfriend. All three of us were getting ready to watch a movie, but I was feeling pretty glum and sour about the situation, so I moped my way over to the kitchen area and pet my ex's dog for a little while. Eventually, I decided I'd just leave, and this was no small undertaking as I knew it'd be a long 6 hour drive back home. I relayed my plans to the two of them, and my ex pleaded that I stay and enjoy the movie. I, however, was resolute. I headed out. The in-between here is a blur but I do remember driving my way home on dark roads. Too bad I didn't do an RC. I've been training myself IRL to reality check whenever my ex sends me any messages, or if I catch a stray thought about her. However, she hasn't appeared in my dreams much lately; this was the first time in a little while now.
Haven't posted any entries in 4 days, but rest assured, I'm ALIVE. Rather than not posting due to no recall, however, I didn't post the entries for the 1st and 2nd of September simply because they were extremely mundane dreams. Literally all they consisted of was me hanging out with my family and going about day to day business. Nothing really to write in depth about. The dream I had for the morning of the 3rd (or, yesterday, as of this time of writing) was an interesting one involving the concept of inception. My cousin was going to get married to this jerk of a guy, and I wasn't okay with it, so I decided to pull a Leonardo DiCaprio and delve into her dreams to perform inception. A dream about dreams, as it were. Deep. And then, this morning's. All of these dreams don't have a whole lot of detail recalled, but rather, specific plot points. One thing that has been improving though is my ability to recollect these things even after falling back asleep, as usually that's enough to simply wipe my memory of it if I didn't write it down. I was hanging out with this girl I used to know really well IRL (we haven't hung out in literal ages), and we were sitting on this outdoor park bench. Yet, half of the area was covered in what appeared to be a house. So it was like half outdoors, half house. I can't even find a good way to describe that, it was a sort of reality warp-ish type of dream scene, the kind your dream self can understand just fine, but in real life you're like 'wtf' Anyways, strange dream scene aside, we were sitting on this bench, a nice breeze blowing through, and just sort of happily people-watching. All of a sudden, she turns to me and nervously asks if I'd like to accompany her to her school's Snowball dance. Shocked, but pleasantly surprised, I happily accept. Almost immediately, in comes a lot of people I know and associate with this girl. They just begin walking by, mumbling their thoughts about that turn of events. Sorry if this one sounded bizarrely described, but that's cuz it really was sort of bizarre. It had a nice peaceful atmosphere, but a lot of weird stuff that you'd usually only notice upon waking (or maybe not, in the event of a successful DILD, which has yet to come. But that's okay!) Anyways, sorry for the radio silence, and happy dreaming.
Didn't sleep too well last night. As it would turn out, I had a pretty good 2 hour nap late into the evening, so come bed time later that night, I really wasn't all that tired. Therefore, the night was spent sort of sleeping but frequently waking up, much to my dismay. Luckily enough, I was able to recall multiple dreams, but on the downside, they're all basically fragments. Here they are anyways: I was eating at Olive Garden, when all around me the customers and waiters and waitresses all started going crazy, dancing around like lunatics, throwing things at each other. I huddled up further into my booth and continued to enjoy my breadsticks. Clearly my dream self has important priorities! I was in this huge house with a lot of my family as well as complete and total strangers. The front side of the house was open to the outside street, where multiple houses alongside it were selling goods. Not much of note here. I was in a small room that looked like something out of Homestuck, and on the wall, projected, was a cool looking animation of David Strider and Jade Harley. This fragment may have been a part of the same house dream just before it. Funny I had Homestuck appear here, as I've not been into it in a couple of years now. I was on an alien world, and everything was blowing up. ...... My ex and I entered into a contract of sorts, and we were living together and going about our day-to-day pretty happily. Still learning to get into the habit of reality checking when she's involved, as she's basically the biggest dream sign I have.
Since starting back in my lucid dreaming practices a couple of weeks back, I've recalled quite a few dreams, almost one every night, barring a few days, but I've yet to put any of those in here. With that being said, here's this morning's, in which I recalled two pretty sparse fragments and one non lucid dream. My dad was insistently questioning me about shower curtains. Literally all I've got on this one. What could it mean? Are the shower curtains symbolic of the walls we put up around ourselves? 6deep8me. I was in a very ritzy looking cafe, enjoying a cup of coffee and browsing my phone, looking at various pictures of a girl I thought was cute. Again, just a fragment. Unlike the strange nature of that first fragment, however, this dream had a nice, fluffy, happy feeling to it. Now, for the actual full non-lucid: I was in some sort of ruins, and could see a sort of heads up display that looked like No Man's Sky's HUD. Lately, it seems like NMS has worked its way into my dreams in subtle ways. I was exploring these ruins on some sort of vague quest, gathering up materials and items. Eventually I found my way into a big building, which looked like something straight out of the game The Witness. It even had a similar puzzle inside of it that I was required to solve. Floating above the ground was a chrome-colored monolith with a red tree insignia on it. Touching the monolith made it dive into the ground, and several huge, red trees sprouted up around me. A river of orange-ish colored water began flowing between the crevices in the floor. How would I solve this puzzle? Unfortunately you get the cliffhanger that never ends on this one, as that's all I can remember.
This dream, which I meant to write down yesterday, is a fragment. I recalled some of it yesterday (Thursday) morning. I recalled a more vivid dream this morning which I'll post later in a separate entry. I was at a factory, where loads of people were shopping at various booths, almost like a convention. At this place were the four Best Friends Zaibatsu, whom my girlfriend and I hung out with, watching video games and anime. Not the most exciting dream, but I jotted it down nonetheless.
I remembered four dreams this morning, albeit all of them were relatively short in my memory. But still! I'm making good progress. There were zombies! AAAAHHHHH... Yeah that's all I remembered about this one. Kind of pathetic. I was at lunch with my girlfriend and a couple of other friends. A kid that I dislike IRL, James, came to our table and started talking to me, to which I was getting annoyed by. My girlfriend glanced at me. "Maybe you should just tell him," she said. And tell him I did. Basically I went off into a three minute tangent consisting of me telling off James. And it was VERY satisfying. I do remember later on in the dream a person I know named Alex agreed with me about his overall jerk-ness. I was at my girlfriend's house, but for some reason, it was a mansion. It was only her mom there, and she told me to take a look at the place. I walked upstairs to see a giant poster of Bryan Cranston, the actor. "Woah! I want something like this!" I yelled. I was studying to become a doctor with my friend, Aaron. We were both at my high school learning about it. At one point, I had to take down a bunch of villains from the show Breaking Bad by shooting them with a pistol. Eventually Aaron and I went to a classroom and started to learn about things that had nothing to do with being a doctor.
As usual, I've been struggling with getting enough motivation to practice LDing. No matter how much my motivation raises or lowers though, I'll try to write down whatever dreams I remember. Including these from last night! Do note that they're a little short and hazy in my memory, but hey, if I can keep my motivation up, these will get much better~ I attended a sort of school set in a very expansive, steampunk-esque city. It was a beautiful place, and almost momentous in scale. Where there weren't buildings, there were vast chasms of mountains and forests, above which was the motor track, which the populace used to get from place to place. All you had to do was hop into one of the attached pods clinging to the track and ride to your destination. I got to and from the school this way. I ended up meeting some new friends at the school, though I don't remember anything about them. Strangely enough, there were a lot of structures and bits of technology that were ripped straight from Half Life 2 Combine technology. There was even an HL2 Citadel-looking building farther off into the city. This last dream is a lot more hazy than the previous one, so. I was in the world of Bioshock, in the role of a Big Daddy. Rapture looked a little strange... And that's where my memory ends for that dream. In the meantime, I'm going to work on keeping my motivation up, so I don't take long breaks from trying to lucid dream.
Sadly, this one's a fragment, which is really too bad, because the premise was cool. I packed my bags and headed to this new college that sounded kind of cool. When I got there, I went to class, only to discover that we were being attacked by...something. The teacher told me to hurry back, but when I tripped on the way, he stopped in front of me as he helped me up and explained that they were assassins who could alter reality. I was in disbelief, but then he showed me by firing a crossbow after making the two enemies in front of him go in slow motion. It nailed both of them in the heads. It gets pretty fuzzy after that, I was in a class teaching you how to warp gravity, and then I was travelling through this odd locker room that didn't seem like a normal locker room... Too bad I didn't remember anymore of it.
My parents and I were sitting in the room of a house that wasn't ours, or as far as I knew. I forget what mom did, but she hit something to make the house flip upside down. We were then dunked into the ocean, and the ocean water splashed about the room of the house, bringing a lot of fish in as well. a fragment. oh well.
Recalled a good amount of this one compared to my other dreams. Remembered 3 different dreams last night. I was in a park for some reason or another, as I had to explore it and look for anything strange. The park was big, and it was nighttime, so it was honestly sort of creepy. I ended up finding this girl, no older than 15, who told me her name was Melissa. Right after I met her, it started snowing like crazy and Melissa started to literally freeze. I panicked and tried to warm her up, but it didn't work, and she ended up freezing to death. I had a bad feeling someone did this to her. I went back to some house afterwards only to be greeted by dozens of monsters from the game Killer7. I pulled out a gun and started shooting them, making my way through the random house, thinking that these things killed Melissa. I was at a weird, condo looking place. My cousins and aunt and uncle were in this one too. They said they came to go swimming at the beach. I was going to swim after my little cousin Kaci suggested, but I realized I didn't have any trunks. However, I looked down and saw I DID have trunks on. And it had these weird sticks of gum in the pockets. I pulled them out and showed them to Kaci, asking what they were. This next one's a fragment. My dad and I went to some canyon with a huge water slide on it. These odd, cavemen-esque people were with us, urging us to jump down the waterslide. I jumped down and wooped, excited by the speed at which I went. Happy I could remember 3 different dreams, even if one was a fragment. (:
So I had to put off a few days on the belief method, but I'm going back to it again. The reason was because of school. Finals are right around the corner, which means more studying and focusing on school for me. I dunno why, but even with BILD, school keeps my concentration just slightly away from lucid dreaming. I was too lazy to write down my dream this morning, so I only recollet a fragment of it. I need to get back in gear. ;P Spent a day out with my girlfriend, but something fatal happened to a family member, and our day was ruined. Aaagh. Time to concentrate on this again. Since summer break starts June 2nd, I'll have plenty of time to work on LD'ing then
I finally broke my dry spell and had a lucid last night. Not only that, I remembered 4 dreams in the morning, which is the most I've been able to remember yet. Here they are in as best an order as I could remember~ Was in a very warped version of my math class. And by warped, I really just mean the length of the room was huge. A bunch of my classmates were there, and we were getting ready to leave class. This part was a fragment. I was at a pool for whatever reason. It was inside an unknown building, and no one else was there. In the next dream, I was in a very dim version of my school's library. I had my mind fixated on finding some book that I can't remember the title of. This next one was lucid. I went lucid instantly, thanks to the BILD method I assume. Maybe not instantly, but it probably dawned on me after a few seconds that I was dreaming. I was in a laboratory, with a computer in front of me flashing a warning message: DISARM THE BOMB. Under these words was a timer that was counting down from 30 seconds. I panicked and started frantically messing with the computer, tapping keys fruitlessly. I wasn't able to disarm it in time, and the whole lab started to blow up, but out of no where, a very pretty DC ran in from somewhere and told me that she was going to save me. She picked me up and ran me out of the lab as it was exploding. The dream then ended. Yay for progress <3
I could only remember a very short bit of this dream. For some reason, I was a lucid dream teacher in a school. I wasn't grown up or anything, still just a teen. I had to teach these two students named Hank and Jane, and help them become good at LD'ing. Sadly, that's all I remember. But this is good, because I haven't remembered a single dream in months now. My recall is finally going back up thanks to everything I've been practicing. ^^ Where I was:A classroom at some random school that I've never seen before. What I was doing:Teaching people on how to lucid dream. Who was there:Two odd dream characters named Hank and Jane. Sucks I didn't go lucid. I wanted to talk to them more. But who cares, I'm going lucid tonight~
