August 13, 2013 (Bedtime Dream, written in journal three hours after going to sleep)

My boyfriend and I had broken up and he had another girlfriend. We were still seeing each other but she didn’t know. So he invites me to stay the night at his house and I said okay. For some stupid reason he wanted me to meet his new girlfriend and her family. He had told them that we were good friends.

So I get to the house and she comes to the door to meet me and say hello. She’s being really nice and invited me inside. The house looked like one I used to live in when I was a kid—same layout and furniture. So anyway, she sits down at the computer and begins to play a game, while boyfriend is in the kitchen cooking dinner. I’m just sitting there feeling really uncomfortable. Soon a baby starts crying and nobody does anything like move to pick it up. It just keeps crying and finally I walk over to her and ask if I can hold her baby. She doesn’t look up from the game, but says, sure go ahead. So I walk over to the walker and pick up their baby, who instantly stops crying.

She’s still intensely playing her game so I walk over to her and ask what she’s playing. She smiles and asks if I’d like to see. So she begins to show me this game where she’s a mom with lots of kids, a husband, her home and everything that one would have in real life. There were avatar people walking down a sidewalk and she showed me that she could talk to them and interact and stuff. She was really into the game and it was something I could tell she spent a lot of time doing.

Her parents come over and we’re all in the living room. They ask me a lot of questions and I’m starting to feel like it’s a good time to go. I mention that I should really get moving, and boyfriend says, no please stay the night. We have a spare room and you’re welcome to stay there tonight. At that point they all insisted that I stay. Except for his girlfriend, who normally slept in the spare room herself. So I agree and when it’s time for bed I go in there. The room is huge with a single bed. I start to jump in when I hear his girlfriend knock on the door. She came in and said I just wanted to say goodnight and thank you for coming over. Then she leaves, and goes to get in bed with her boyfriend (which is something she never does). I could hear them laughing and having a good time.

The next morning boyfriend tells me that his girlfriend is really showing him much more attention since I’m there and asked if I would stay for a little longer. I said that I didn’t want to, but if he really really wanted that, then I would stay one more night. His girlfriend walks up to me and asks if we could have a talk. I’m thinking…oh boy, here we go. This couldn’t be good. So we walk up ahead of him and she tells me that she really likes having me around for the same reasons. She starts opening up about her life and I find myself starting to enjoy talking to her and liking her. She seems sweet and like a nice person. Pretty soon she hands me these really large stilts and says, come on let’s check these out. She has a pair too. So we start trying to walk on them and we’re both laughing and joking around…falling but not getting hurt. So, I look behind me and boyfriend is looking rather pissed off about the whole thing.

That night as I’m about to go to bed, boyfriend comes in the room and says that he wants to sleep in there, with me. I told him no, you need to go to your bed. He kept insisting so I said I was leaving. When I opened the door to leave, his girlfriend was standing right there. She overheard everything and was not happy about it. She asked him why he would be such a jerk and bother me. She told me to come with her and she led me to this really strange part of the house that was more like a motel. Only thing is instead of rooms, there were these pod-like structures hanging from chains. She told the lady at a desk that I was staying on one tonight and that when I woke up the next morning I was to get a free pedicure.

When I walked into my pod it was really unstable and there was a grate-like floor. There was a guy in there cleaning up and he was just getting finished. He said that he would see me in the morning for the ped and left. The pod kept rocking back and forth and was just creepy so I waited until I figured nobody was around and left. I left a note at the front desk saying how much I appreciated the thought, but that I was just going to return to my house and sleep in my own bed.

On my way home I went to a bar and had a drink, watching some band play. After I left I realized that I had left my ID and went back to get it. They wouldn’t let me in at first, so I told them to get my brother, he was in the back and he would get my ID for me. So they said okay, and he brought my id out and gave it to me. He told me he would meet me later after he got off work and then told the guys there to quit giving me a hard time; that I was his sister. They all laughed and I took off. That’s when I woke up.


August 13, 2013 (Nap Dream)

My son and I were standing in line to ride this really big roller coaster. There were lots of twists and turns in it and it was huge! We were waiting in a really long line, and the closer we got the more nervous I became to ride. I kept telling him that I wasn’t so sure this was a good idea, that I had a really bad feeling about it. He was telling me that it would be fun and kept encouraging me to ride it. I decided to go ahead and do it. When we got to the front of the line, it looked like one of the cars was kind of crooked compared to the rest. I remember thinking wow, that doesn’t look right and I hope we don’t get stuck in that one.

Sure enough the guy took our ticket and walked us over to the one car that didn’t look right. I told my son that something isn’t right with this car, look at it. He didn’t look, just sort of laughed and said it was going to be fine. So I’m really freaked out now, but what the heck let’s do this. The ride begins and we’re going super-fast. Soon we slow down and start climbing up this really steep hill and it seems to go on forever. But finally we make it to the top and then we go down the other side lightning fast. It’s fun but scary too. So when I look up ahead, there’s a spot on the tracks that has sort of a gap in it, and beyond that there’s nothing!! No tracks at all. We’re flying though, and there’s nothing I can do besides sit there. I remember thinking I HOPE this is a lucid dream! Then I woke up as soon as I said that.
