3-Dec-2016 - 1ND + Long WILD Space station, Fairies' secret, Mad Scientist fight

ND: I am looking at some ugly video on the PC, my wife comes in, I try to close it, it doesn't work well (!!).
She speaks to me, I am not focused on her so get up, turn off the monitor and walk away.
There is also a bad sound, like a buzzing, coming out of speakers. We move to another room (!! doesn't look like our house), then she explains me something about a special offer, she's got a very colorful depliant in her hands.

      WILD
      6:15AM, ~45 min
Visualization includes discussion with some colleagues, then i invite V to join me. I reach the orbital space station of a previous dream, walk through the small warehouse, we reach the canteen. We look for a free table and sit down. I summon lasagne for her, a chicken leg for me.

Dream looks stable. I look for the ring of mushrooms. First I am in a tropical jungle, no mushrooms, but I find a small ruined temple. I open some hidden doors but it's all empty, pillaged since long time. I think about the J1kM task of pressure plates, but don't feel like doing it now, so I move on.
I reach the office again, and look in a nearby area with some high canes, no mushrooms.
I go to my tower, walk in the direction of some trees, and I feel this time I'm going to find them.
After some walking, I pull out of my jacket the magic book of yesterday dream, it's incredibly vivid and stable. I find a spell to find the mushroom ring, and when I look up, there is a circle of mushrooms of various colors among some oak-ish trees.

The next page contains a spell to summon the fairies: I take some grass and crumble it over the mushrooms. Then I take a blue bird feather and drop it at the center of the circle. The fairies appear, floating above the mushrooms. Their skins are different colors, pink, brown, white; their wings too, one has orange wings, another violet, red, pink; the wings are slightly transparent. I decide it's worth to call my daughter to show her the faries, I turn to my back she's there, I take her hand, she comes closer, and hugs a fairy.

Then I gently ask the fairies to uncover me one of their secrets. They tell me a secret is they live there. I ask for a more interesting secret, something that can help me in my dreams perhaps. They tell they can summon various woods animals, I tell if they can reveal me how to summon a wolf, that would be great. They tell me the spell words "Lupalbis Arenario" (?!?) I ask if I need any special item, answer no, but I can only summon it in the wilds. Hm, fair(y) enough
The fairy in my daughter's arms has become an Ikea fairy plush she owns. I wave the fairies goodbye, before I go they give me a crown of leaves and daisies. I take my daughter's hand and we move on.
I summon my tower, drop the crown and the plush there. I notice the room looks messy, need to do some tidy up, but not now...

I go to a city, thinking that after this peaceful encounter, I don't feel like fighting (DHL).
However, while walking, I notice a small personal "hover-plane" in the air. It drops a bomb on a street, which explodes; people scream and run.
Then it drops some small, ugly, colored gummy monsters; one grabs my face, blinding me, I remove it and crush it down. Others run through the city, I shoot some fireballs and kill some.
I understand it has to be the mad scientist. I shoot some arrows, but fail to hit him because of distance. I tell the spell and summon the wolf: it's dark grey and massive.
Another bomb hits a tall building close to me, which starts collapsing towards me. I move under it, and sustain it with my body, then raise it back at its place.
I am now angry at the scientist. I mount the wolf and chase the flying ship, shooting arrows and fireballs. I don't know why I decide not to fly up.
The wolf jumps on a tall building, and keeps jumping on roofs. The scientist drops more bombs on the city.
One of my shots hits the scientist saucer, which smokes and falls down in the street below.

The wolf jumps down the building and we reach the crash site. I see the mad scientist, of course he's wearing a white coat.
Somehow he summons a giant robot behind him, as tall as buildings around. I tell the wolf to protect some nearby children, he runs to them and accompanies the kids far away, I see sight of it.
I score some hit to the robot, to no effect though. The scientist enters a building to my left, through the door. The robot shuts the entrance closed with its massive arm. I try melting it with my fire hands, it may work but feels too slow. I switch to stronger dream powers.
I shoot out a fire/wind tornado from my hands, pushing the robot's arm out of the way, and enter the building.

Inside the small lobby, I use X-ray sight to locate the scientist, it's on the stairway, up two floors. I fly up, crushing the floors, hugging and blocking him. It seems at this stage I gave up using only DHL selected dream powers.
The scientist uses some strange power which makes himself very heavy and frees himself by dropping down. I fall down too and grab him again. Then I use a fire rope to tie him. I dare him to free himself now, if he can. The fire rope looks truly amazing !

I hand the package to some cops, they take him inside a police car. This reminds me of the "lift car" task
I try lifting the one holding the scientist, but the dream looks confusing at this point.
I try again with a different car, a dar red sedan. I pick the car from left rear wheel, I lift it, but the wheel folds under the car. I grab it from the front hood, lift it, then move my hands on the bottom, and walk a bit with the car suspended above my head.

Now I am kinda tired, I return control to my body, wake up, check clock, ~7AM, return to sleep.

More dreaming activity later, but nothing really noteworthy.

    2. 1-Dec-2016 - ND + WILD - dv TotY Chimera + DILD - Black Hole

      by , 12-01-2016 at 11:57 AM
      1-Dec-2016 - ND + WILD - dv TotY Chimera + DILD - Black Hole

ND: I am doing something related to construction (Minecraft-style again), in large scale, perhaps together with more people. Not much recall/detail[/b]

WILD - Eat and love. Transform a goat into a Chimera, store it into an egg, let it kill a robber, Trump and Hitler
      5:30 AM, ~30 min
I need some time and several scenario changed in visualization before I can finally enter LD
First thing I notice is I feel a strong desire, which didn't happen so much recently. I satisfy it and move on.
      <JUMP>
I am in a room with some people and much food. I try some different samples from a plate, no taste...
      <JUMP>
I think about tasks - I would go for the Fairies, but since LD looks decently stable, I decide attempting the harder Chimera
I am in a grassy area with some trees. I wander around for some time, looking for a goat. I see rocky mountains in the background, then finally I find the goat. It's got dirty white / gray long wool, looks quite sturdy, has short straight horns.
It does not look very stable at first, like my mind it's definining its final structure, I glimpse its head and the back in a square-ish shape before it becomes a goat-looking goat. I suspect it's due again from playing Minecraft. Hmmm...
It has a bell below its neck, I remove it.

Out of nowhere I pick up a book with brown leather cover. I browse some pages, it contains symbols I don't know, looking like a mix between runes and Japanese. After some pages I find the drawing of a Pentacle, I somehow recognize it's the spell I've used to summon the Demon few days ago, than find a drawing of a circle of mushrooms, I take note to look at the book again when I'll attempt the Fairies task. After some more pages, I find another pentacle with another different drawing and more runes, I know it's the right one.

When I look at the goat, there is a pentacle on the ground close to it. I push it to move inside the pentacle, the book still open. I wish it to morph.
A lion head appears to the right of the goat head. A snake body and head appears from the lower back. Dragon wings appear at the middle of its back. A lion tail appears (additional to goat's?)
Well, it's definitely looking meaningless =D
I think it will do. I put the book in an inner pocket of my jacket.

I do not see how I can find a DC here around. Also, I do not wish it to attack innocent people.
From the jacket internal pocket, I extract a plastic (?) egg (Minecraft again most likely), I open it like a box, and the Chimera jumps inside. Good.
Then I open a "zip" portal mid-air, to a city, and walk through it.

I am in a city looking very much like Chicago, light train above us. I walk around, looking for a dark alley, hoping to find some robber, which of course happens. There is a guy on the ground and a dark guy with a wallet in his hand.
I take the egg and open it. The Chimera jumps out, and I mount it.
I look around me, it's kinda freightening; the snake head is just behind my back, the lion head below me on the right side.

I face the robber. The lion head emits a frosty breath, he becomes an ice statue. It assaults the guy with fore paws and bite, breaking the statue into small ice shards.
I think that this is fun and I don't want to stop. I just need to find more bad guys.
For some reason I think about D.Trum-p - actually I don't dislike him that much IWL, but at this time I don't really care
He appears in front of me and the Chimera, in a timeless and spaceless environment.
The Chimera extends its lion tail and stings him, releasing a cloud of thick green vapor around him; not yet happy, with a paw it removes all his hair, then set him aflame. He drops to the ground, contorting, then we throw the body in some nearby water.
I want the Chimera to hit some really bad guy, and for some reason Hitler comes to my mind.
He's in front of us, with an elegant gray suit.
The Chimera is in bloodlust mode. It immediately assaults him with paws and bite, then sets him aflame, then keeps hitting him. I feel like very light and satisfied in doing this.

After that, I dismount the Chimera, and let it into the egg again. I use open another "zip" portal to my tower.
I remember I think that I love this way of moving around. I enter the tower, leave book and egg there.
I am thinking about making an inventory of the items there.

A yawn comes to my sleeping body, I experience it from a "spectator" perspective, quite interesting !
When the second yawn comes, I quickly check time, it's 6AM, roll to my side and return to sleep.

DILD - Drive X-Wing into a Black Hole
      ~6AM, ~20min
ND:I am playing LEGO with my son. I am looking for an L-shaped black part, I know it's there, I cannot find and start disassembling some Pirates' Island buildings. I find some similar parts, but not the one I am looking for.

DILD:Realizing this is a dream, I just summon the part. However, I lost any interest in playing with LEGO.
I turn around, there is a window, look outside, there is a nice garden with trees and flowers. I go out of the window.
The Fairies TotY beckons, but I want to do something different, and think about the "Black hole / Wormhole" task I assigned in LD4All LC56

I need an airship. I find myself inside a big hangar, with lots of machinery, but no suitable vehicle.
I turn into some corridors, and find another hangar, however it is used as garage. Lots of cars and few vans.
I know the next hangar will be the good one. I take a door, there is another hangar, this time a sort of X-Wing fighter is parked there. Nice.

I climb in the pilot seat, buckle up and start clicking random buttons in the cockpit.
In front of me, the hangar door opens to a town street.
The fighter gets inclined until its nose is pointing upwards, then I take off. Unfortunately no particular sensation.

I am in the outer space. I look at my left side, there is the blue Earth below me.
I move around, until I find a black circle "suspended" in space
I see particles going towards it and disappear.
I fly in front of it, keeping distance. Then I turn towards it, and point inside.

As soon as I am inside, I see the cockpit and the structure of the airship become transparent and disappear, then my hands and arms disappear, too.
      I am bodyless, still conscious.
      I appear somewhere else

Dream recall quickly fades, 6:30AM work alarm goes off.
    3. Finally, damn it!

      by , 11-25-2016 at 05:28 PM
Achieved a lucid dream via SSILD and an internal mantra of "I will have a lucid dream". Ended finding the dream character I was looking for in the description that I imagined/expected and hugged her tight. Didn't have the joy of completion that I would have liked but better than another failure.

After that, I don't remember what else that happened in the dream. On a side note, finding things to do in a dream is a bit difficult because there are so many things to do yet I only get one delicate opportunity every 24 hours to try and achieve that goal.
    4. TOTM Fail TOTD Fail TOTY Fail

by , 11-16-2016 at 09:50 PM (Journeys through Spacetime)
I was in a choir, singing in an auditorium. It is soon over. I am now in an orchestra I play in. I can't find my music. Suddenly I see that my desk partner is on both sides of me! I do a reality check, and I am dreaming.

I announce that I am attempting the Lucid Task of the Day which is, figure out 1% of 5. It shows this on a plaque. I fail. I fly out. and arrive in my house. I try to find Candyland (TOTM) half-fearing I might instead find a girl called Candi. Nothing appears. I give up and try and remember the TOTY.
I remember it as : Be a unicorn and destroy a Snellkork (I remember it as a sort of intelligent mountain troll). I give up. I then have a talk to T about life.

    5. 07-Nov-2016 - 2 ND-Little bear+C disturbs V ->DILD/OBE Meet myself as a child+ WILD Bear and Unicorn

07-Nov-2016 - Amazing night: ND Little bear at S.St./Moda' videoclip + ND C disturbs VP ->DILD / OBE Meet myself as a child + WILD The bear and the unicorn

ND - Little bear at S.St., Moda' videoclip
      1:30 AM

I'm with dad and another person in S.St., where I lived when I was young (!!) This guy is telling us that a little brown bear lives among those small trees (!!!) After some walking, we get to a low wall; on the other side, well below us, there is an area with some bare trees, and I see the brown bear's little round ear (!!!); it's in a pack of dogs. I slide down, dad tries to help me, he manages to slow down my fall, I get to the bottom of the pit, then I quickly run up. This happens two times (!!)
      <JUMP>
I am watching a Moda' videoclip, although the song is from some other singer, on a small monitor (plane?), I ask a girl some assistance.
In the video, the singer is ironing a leather jacket and when he wears it, the iron is stucks in the middle of his back. I laugh incontrollably at this funny scene (!!)

      ND - C disturbs VP
      est.3:40 AM

I am at company canteen, at a table with VP, C and SL. While talking, C disturbs VP in a weird way, and I am upset with him, more then VP herself. After he does that a couple of times, without any reaction fron her side, I realize I am dreaming !
Memory slightly fails here - Most likely just after the realization, I have OBE

      OBE/LD - Meet myself as a child
      Unsettling details excluded
      4AM
My body is shaking lightly, I know I can exit. While rising up, I say "I am exiting, I am exiting !" My voice changes significantly.
I am in my bedroom at S.St, where I was living as a kid. I move to another room, then come back to mine. I want to talk to child myself. I see a child in the bed from which I just risen, I ask him who he is, he answers R (my son), he's really him, looking like age 4.

I turn around and try again, there is another person in the bed, I ask him his name, he answers X - my real name; I answer "Me too", then ask about his family name, he answers "Y" (my real family name), then he adds "Like you", I chuckle and say "Yes, like me"
He's playing. I ask him if he's happy and if he likes what he's doing in his life right now.

In the meantime an adult girl is with him (my wife ? my sister?) He answers, "Yes, but I'd like a party with A. bread !" - it does not make much sense. The girl adds the party could also be based on bread with Nutella.

WILD - The bear and the unicorn
      6AM WILD
I start from this morning little bear ND. This time I go down, and ride it. It's small, with soft brown hair. When I ask its name, answer is "Polar". I ride it through the naked trees I saw this morning, then in a city. I go into a bar, when I exit there are two indian temples in front of me, with rows of statues depicting sensual figures.

We reach a small lake, more of a pond. I try to conjure some object behind me, but fail.
Then I try manipulating the pond's water: first I make it rise, a lot of small vertical flows of separate water drops moving upwards.
Then they "crystallize" in stone-like greek columns in regular rows. I wish them to break up, it happens, the water rains down back in the pond.

Then I rotate my hands in the air, the water moves accordingly, building a fairly good-size water tornado over the lake.
Wishing to see if that is effecting something else, I see a kind of "mirror" tornado on the ground, in the distance.
I let the tornado water return to the pond.
I am having fun, so I try something else. Moving my hand up and down, I create small waves in the lake.

I decide attempting one of the TotY, the Unicorn. I want to summon one, but I only get a normal horse instead. Let's not give up. I wish a horn on its brow, and I get one, although it's fairly unimpressive. I must make a connection with another older LD, involving an unicorn with a paper horn.
I see myself in a court hall, with a jury looking at my unicorn. Its horn is even falling apart, showing cardboard below.
I say something to the animal, asking help, and a wonderful ivory horn appears ! The unicorn is white, shining of a bright light !
It even gows bigger, and I stop it, otherwise I could not ride it.

I ride it, then its name: -"Samantha". Oh, so yu are a girl. I drop, look below and confirm this is the case.
I ask what of the two sub-tasks it prefers, answers it's peaceful so the portal. I guessed it =)
I take my flaming sword from J1kM, make an oval hole in the air and look into it. Everything is dark red, unpleasant, but we step in, bear included.
The scenery looks hellish, brown / dark red rocks, tree stumps, my vision kinda fading. I wish ourselves out.

I am in the woods again and try another portal. I imagine a zipper midair, and open it following a rectangular pattern. I open it like a door and look inside.
Oooh, it's a fairy tale world ! Much better ! We step in to find a place with rainbow-colored trees, normally colored grass and sky.
We explore it a bit. To my right I see a sort of modern pipe with water drops flowing. I look closer, and when I move my gaze, I find myself in a public restroom, both walls covered in urinals. Ahem. I walk a bit and find an exit door on the left.
After some more exploration, we find a waterfall going into a pond. It's normally colored, kinda boring, I look away and back at it, to find it rainbow colored now. Better !

Dream jumps, I am at P, a mall close to my house, under the central dome. Many people there, and Samantha gently moves some of them out of the way, using its head / horn. We stop there, and I think it could be interesting to let my children meet the two animals, so I wish them there and they appear.

      Dream is already kinda fading.
I introduce my kids to Polar and Samantha; after that, they just stay there without doing much. I sit both my kids on top of the unicorn and it makes them happy.
Dream fades, I return control to my body, then slowly transition to wakefulness.

It's almost 7AM, work alarm sounds after one minute !

      05-Nov-2016 - A forgotten ND + WILD - Phoenix

      6:30AM WILD, ~40min
I start at a customer meeting room I was yesterday, explaining our products, at once I stop and let a train of naked girls enter the room. It's nice seeing all engineers look at them. I am close to making group love, but thinking better about it, I don't really feel like sharing all that... So I make myself selectively much bigger, and focus on the girls for some time. <SNIP>

Time to focus on dv TotY Phoenix task now. I need few attempts to conjure a stable and suitable scenario; one is a cheese fondue, then a small fire close to a bench. The good one is a round bonfire with black stones all around, which I feed with wood sticks / branches.
As soon as fire and scenario are stable enough, I drop some stuff in it.

A cat eye first, then a bird beak, then a chicken leg. It's a bit disgusting, I don't know why I picked this stuff, but I feel it's kinda necessary. The fire consumes all those items.
I wait for the fire to diminish until I can see is embers and ashes contained within the stones.

Then I do something with my hands above it - can't recall what - say some stuff and look at the circle.

A fiery beak appears in the middle of the circle, pointing up and rising upwards, until it becomes a full head.
Then from two opposite edges, two flames rise up diagonally, big and fierce.
I feel my body shiver as this happens.
Then the body rises up, the legs, and a very long tail, that keeps coming out of it and twisting on itself, until all the phoenix is visible in front of me, made up entirely of orange flames.

I shiver strongly at its sight.

I would like to focus on some more tasks, but the focus on my body has made my sleep light. I get up, it's 7:30

04-Nov-2016 - 1 ND - Travel with colleagues on the windy shuttle bus + WILD - The dragon and the turtle

ND - Travel with colleagues on the windy shuttle bus
I am traveling with some colleagues on a shuttle bus, I am sitting at the last row. There is a small table in the middle and on top a sort of notepad with plastic-wrapped pages. On the opposite side there is J, a M colleague. It's windy outside, and wind partially enters the bus, lifting the pages. I pick up the notepad and store it somewhere.
We are talking about how gliders fare with this strong wind, and I make a gesture with my hands imitating the path of a glider hit by a sudden burst of wind, quickly raising my hand up on a vertical path.

The bus takes a uphill left turn, then a round right one. On the outer side, we notice two people climbed on a high metallic ladder, working on an electric line wire; one more worker adjusts the ladder with the people on it (!!) - all of them share the same black outfit.
We comment on how dangerous that move was.

The bus reaches a parking beyond a gate, I see DA, a F colleague, with an amazing six-pack (!!)

LD - The dragon and the turtle
      WILD 5:30AM, ~30min
I start on a passage connecting two black skyscrapers at a high level, walking on top of it. I feel myself transforming into a dragon, and I start flying on the landscape. I am looking for a small village to perform dv-TotY.

I find one, between a meandering river and a forest. First I descend and breathe fire on a windmill, which goes up in flames. Then I spit a fireball to a person walking alone nearby. Then I see some small houses with thatch; I breathe fire on two of them, and they go up in flames too.

Then I question what I am doing, I don't like at all the feeling I am getting from this. I feel a strong wave of regret and I want to repair it.

I perceive myself becoming a blue dragon, and start spitting water on the poor people and houses. The flames are extinguished, but all I get are black charred remains. That's not enough.

I change again, and become a white dragon with long fur (akin to Neverending story dragon); I also perceive some kind of yellow-ish star-shaped aura around me - hard to express it. Anyway, I know I can now resurrect people.

However, the village is not in sight anymore.
I fly over the land, looking for it, but only see more trees and strange store-like apparitions. I feel myself as having human form again.

I find a large tree covering my field of view. Its leaves are bright green, small and pointy. I decide behind it there is going to be the village.

It does not happen. I find the ocean instead. It has a dark-blue/gray color, it's not calm but not too rough either.

I see three very small people - tall like 8cm - floating on its surface. It's a man, a young one (girl?boy?) and a woman. They seem unconscious. I pick up the woman in my left hand and look at her in my palm.
She's got long blonde hair, dark trousers and a white shirt.
I gently close my hand around her.

I look down, and see a fairly large, levigated stone. I climb on it with both my bare feet.
The stone animates and become a turtle; its shell dark and shiny like the wet rock it was before; I can clearly see its head and legs; I perceive it like an old and wise entity.
The turtle turn to its back, pointing towards the open sea.

It moves slowly, but I fear the wave would tilt me off its shell, but when the first ones come, I hardly notice their impact on me; I am firmly attached to it, it seems.
After a couple of waves, I open my hand to look at the woman, she's still there, unconscious.

We hit more waves, I see the white crests, the rise and drops of the sea, it's all very vivid.
Then I notice some form in a rising wave; I look better, it's a human face, which I ultimately recognize as my own !
I am seeing the reflection of my face in the waves, in an impossible way, only marginally affected by the wave shape, it's difficult to put in words. I do a sort of grin, to see the result in the reflection, and I can see my teeth look kinda strange.

I now focus my gaze somewhere else on the waves, and recognize more facial features, an eye here, a pointy-teethed mouth there; they are not connected, somewhat creepy, but I am not scared.
I have an ominous feeling here, like i am witnessing something incredible, linked to divine. Again, very hard describing it.

Finally the turtle reaches a landing point. It's a small pier, leading to a gently rising stairway; on both sides, high green hedges with some bouganvillea. I perceive this place like some mythical land inhabited by ancient gods.

The woman is not in my hand anymore. I walk a bit more in this town, which now seem more like a normal place to me.
      Unfortunately dream recall fades here.
    8. My first LD after 2 and a half month

      by , 08-29-2016 at 08:13 PM
I finally had my first Lucid dream after 2 and half month!
I am so happy, even though it lasted 10 seconds. It was a cool experience.

It was vild like method combined with the wild method.
My dream did go like this:

I was visualizing my scene, and suddenly after seeing my sister eat dinner, I was on a bike, and I rode at full speed through the city. I did A RC while being on the bike, (a nose RC) and it worked! I could breathe in.

Happy inside, I rode on my bike a little more, and then wanted to fly and leave my bike behind. But at that point I woke up..

I couldn't fly, but it was still amazing, I knew I was dreaming, and I really felt the wind through my hair, and the speed of my bike.

      I hope I'll get more LD's, and a little longer then this<3

    10. I fucking did it! First full length, real lucid dream

      by , 05-16-2016 at 08:17 PM
I am so happy right now. I just experienced a lucid dream that lasted around 1.5 hours. I woke up at 10 AM and went back to bed and lucid dreamed until 11:30.
      Here's how it went down.

      **Warning, lots of sex**

I was at the old cottage with Melanie and Jake. We were looking out at the water, and in the middle of the lake where there would usually be the islands in the distance was a massive white and red castle of Indian design. Melanie said "it's amazing how fast that thing was built here." As I was looking at it however I had a moment of peace, and as I do nowadays in most of my peaceful moments, I look deeply at my surroundings. I knew that castle was impossible, so instead I looked at her and said "that's because it wasn't built. That was a dream castle, and we're in a dream.

      Shivers.

I look around and they don't believe me. Of course they don't, this is their world. We begin walking past the cottage to the garage, and I am astonished at the reality of it all. I grab Melanie by the arm and lead her into the garage. We start to kiss after a moment and she is getting excited, but I just really jump the gun and whip it out. She is shocked and starts having doubts. She leaves the shed and is talking to Jake. I really want to redo that, so I try to create a previous version of her from before we walked in the shed. It worked, but the old one was there and her doubtful vibe spread. I didn't know what to do so I just started snapping my fingers and pointing at things to make them dispensary, and it worked. The multiple versions of Melanie were gone, but I couldn't make a new one appear. When I went in the shed, Anna was in there. Almost immediately her douchey boyfriend (not rob) showed up and they started fucking. I was trying to watch then got pissed and gave up. He came all over her back like a douche, so I looked at her and she knew she was better off with me. She grabbed my hand and we flew far away, to the top of a mountain base\event center. We touched down in a hot springs tub, and were naked. She gave me great head while I stared in amazement. I finished quick so I could go explore and then my mind was blown. I went into an elevator and there I encountered some incredible detail. This massive house that the party was in was beautifully decorated, and not how I thought it would be. Firstly, there were plants everywhere, and in this elevator there was a window with a sill covered in about 60 plants all shoved in. I marveled at the detail of the cacti, the flower petals, and then I stepped out. There was a party there and I was the one in control. The music was just great, and the people there were out of some crazy film. Some wore masks, others regular work clothes, some nothing. I left the party and encountered Rachel Shewfelt, who seemed to be a second person jacked into my dream. She thought she was lucid. I think this branched from my idea last night that every person around Chris and I was either fake or another one of my own lifetimes, and then I realized that it applied to Chris as well. Rachel was governed by the same rules as everyone else, but to convince her she was a dream I had to demonstrate my power. I decided to create invisible walls to box her in but I kept failing. Then I remembered the techniques to increase control. I looked at my hands and saw the same disfigured fingers, and then I screamed "LUCIDITY BOOST!" and slammed my hands into the ground Last Airbender style. This caused a massive stone wall to erupt from the ground, and then I just looked at it and willed it to be invisible and it was. I jumped at it and bounced off. She was amazed, but I then remembered how spinning can boost lucidity, but forgot that it induces change. At this point I'm really crushing on Rachel because she's the confident, social Rachel of my dreams (literally) and I want to have her in full clarity. I spin, look back, and she has been replaced by Gwen from steam whistle. It's pretty freaky how it happened so I go back to the party. I dance a bunch with my buddies, but then Holly and Mom come back to the dance floor and keep showing me my phone and texts from Jake about his mental issues. They convince me that these texts are on my real phone right now and I need to wake up and read them, so I do that. I check my phone and I have a snapchat from him of the Grad skip day party.

Overall this was an incredible experience. I found full stable lucidity for hours and it was the best sleep of my life. I will not finally have the mental fuel for the fire of constantly reality checking. I am so excited for the future of dreaming like this.

      Dream Signs:
      Melanie
      Jake
      Thomas Cole
      Impossible locations
      Sex
      Anna

    11. Odd dream fragments

      by , 05-06-2016 at 10:09 PM
I only had some really odd dream fragments, non-lucid. I'm just completely exhausted because my allergies are really crazy. I've been really busy getting things ready to travel soon for a family engagement. Then last night I called my son & told him when we would be there & he said that he had given me the wrong date so I had to cancel my reservations & make new ones which was exhausting because it was really late last night when I finished. (I will be taking my laptop because I have not missed logging something in my journal every day yet) Being sick & on meds is really taking all I have to do anything so I just tried to get some sleep. I slept for about 12 hrs & woke up still exhausted, lol... I have been reading & trying to get a good grasp on the dragon for the TOTY.
    12. Bikini line & puppies

      by , 04-30-2016 at 09:53 PM
I'm taking antibiotics right now so my dreams are all over the place! I was in this really beautiful water & was swimming around but every time I would get out of the water I would check my bikini line & shave my hair there, over & over, lol. I saw my grandpa Jacobs & my aunt Jill (she is only 2 wks & 3 days older than me). I kept thinking that them being there was weird. There were these puppies. I don't know why but we kept coming across all of these puppies. Yup none of this made sense to me either!....

When I woke up I tried to go back to sleep because I instantly thought. Be a dragon, be a dragon, be a dragon. I guess the prep for achieving the first task in the TOTY was trying to kick in. So I guess you could say that was my first failed attempt at TOTY.
    13. Roan Unicorn (DEILD)

      by , 04-29-2016 at 06:00 AM
Ritual: Was working *really* inefficiently yesterday—took me almost eight hours to finish a 22 page article (one with lots of pictures, even!) because I kept looking things up and building my powerpoint at the same time. It was already after midnight before I started reading the 50+ page article (with almost no images) that I was also supposed to finish before bed, so I crapped out at 2:30am without getting it done. I woke at 8am and continued reading in bed, then napped again at 9am—so it became an inadvertant WBTB. Woke at 10:15 after this amazing dream, so I guess all the stress and angst paid off (though it is now 11:15am after writing up my account, and I am no closer to finishing that article! Yikes!)

Earlier NLD: Some interesting features actually. I'm in what I take to be the sheriff's office of a small lakeside town. The building is rustic and wooden. I am one of the cops, a man like the others. They're all macho, gruff, with mustaches. I notice a small boat in the lake just off shore. Although it looks like an innocent fishing expeditiion, I have a definite premonition of what is coming next. I know that someone is lying prone in that boat with a gun pointed toward us, and there are other shooters positioned strategically nearby, and any minute now they're going to fire. I know my colleagues brought this on themselves so I leave them to their fate, diving into a side room and locking the door. There's a random guy in here so I tell him to get down, we're going to be under fire. Meanwhile I make use of whatever time I have left to arrange the furniture to better blockade us, turning the tables and chairs over so that we can crouch behind them like shields. All of this feels like it has happened before—not in the vague sense of deja vu, but a very concrete and specific way like when you replay an encounter in a video game. For this reason I know that if we just position ourselves correctly and keep our heads low enough, we'll make it through this. The bullets start flying. I feel one zing very close to the left side my body, provoking a strange vibration. Did it hit me? Not quite. My sense of repetition is so strong that after the bullets stop, I predict even before lifting my head that I will see a bullet hole in the lower right hand corner of the window behind me. I turn around and there it is, just as I had predicted (not so astonishing in a dream, after all, but I hadn't realized I was dreaming yet). I pull out my phone and snap a picture of it to document this remarkable event before going back outside. I decide the only sensible thing to do is slip out of town immediately, so I take a side path through someone's backyard.

DEILD: Around this time the dream destabilizes enough that I become lucid. I wonder if I can restabilize and continue. I remember the principle I've devised for this: don't worry about visuals, focus on physical movement. Tactile integration is what is needed, then the visuals will re-establish themselves naturally. I dance my way back into full dream state. Now what? I remember my goal to continue with the TOTYs, and decide to try the Unicorn task.

I set my will to summoning a unicorn and soon see a suitable animal galloping toward me down a lane that bisects the fields. This is no ethereal being, but a sturdily built strawberry roan that just happens to have a horn on its head. I found a picture online that gives a good sense of the coat color, only in mine the red hues were more pronounced across the top of its rump.

      How old is everyone here?-strawberry-roan-2.jpg

After it reaches me, I realize I don't actually know how to climb on a tall horse bareback, so I command it to kneel so that I can get astride. Now we need to find a portal and travel to another land, but I had a plan for this: I've been wanting to visit the Wood Between the World.

I canter the roan unicorn back down the path it came from, priming my expectations to see a pool of water as we round the corner. We get halfway around and I still don't see water, but I keep my anticipation high. There it is, after all! I didn't see it at first because it is a very small pond, not much more than ten feet across, but sufficient for my task. "The Wood Between the World," I murmur, imagining what it will look like as I canter up to the pool and have the unicorn jump in. Although I've done my best to maintain conviction, we splash into the pool and... now the unicorn is standing in water up to its knees. We haven't gone anywhere.

This portal was a bust, so decide to look for another, passing a group of teenagers as I leave. I travel down the road until I find myself in what looks to be a luggage store room, like the kind you might find in a train station. The oddest thing is how familiar it looks: I have the distinct impression that I remember this place from an earlier dream this very night, but I can't tell if it is false memory or true. Nothing useful here, but as I leave I spot the group of teenagers again, and ride up to them. I ask if they know of any portals nearby. They mention the pool.

"I already tried that one, but it didn't work." The kids confirmed that, yeah, they don't work anymore, the magic is too weak. But the magic may not be gone entirely—one kid points out that if you stand near the pool and the background music fades, you can still hear something. This brings my attention to the music. I hadn't been paying attention to it, but a song has been playing in the background all along since I became lucid, like a soundtrack. It is a woman singing in a foreign language—it reminds me of the second half of the song "Bjarkan" from Wardruna's album Gap Var Ginnunga, which would make sense, because that's the main thing I've been listening to lately.

The kids can't think of any way to strengthen the portal magic, so I ask if they know of any other portals nearby. They point back across the field and tell me to look for a small shack. I ride over and find the door slightly ajar, so I go in. The door swings shut and clicks behind me—it seems to have automatically locked. Nevermind, I was planning to use this as a portal anyway. How do I pass through? Maybe I should stand here astride the unicorn and let the environment around us shift phase. I begin to try to reimagine my surroundings... but I am interrupted by a cry of alarm.

It comes from a young couple, a boy and girl, who had apparently been making out in a sort of nook or loft halfway up the side wall of this shack. They are startled by my presence and furious when they discover that I have accidentally locked the door. "We'll die in here!" wails the girl. I look around. This shack wasn't built of terribly sturdy materials, I'm sure we can find a way out, even if we have to dismantle it. Distracted by the unexpected crisis, I forget about portalling and even forget that a locked door should be no barrier to me as a dreamer.

"This wasn't designed as a prison, we'll find something." I reassure them. I look around carefully and notice an opening halfway up the side wall in one corner. It's six or seven feet up: all we have to do is climb to it, then jump over a gap of a few feet to the low flat roof of an adjacent shed. I dismount and give the girl, Sarah, a boost to help her climb up. Next I go to help the boy, Tom. His head is now attached to a long pole, like a broomstick, instead of a body, so this is easy: I pick up the pole and pass it through the opening to Sarah. Now my cat is here for some reason and also needs rescuing, but there is a paper grocery bag handy, so I put the cat in the bag and try to hand that across to Sarah. Suddenly uncooperative, Sarah threatens to dump my cat out of the bag. I am flabbergasted. Why would she suddenly turn against me?

"But I showed you the way out and helped you!" I protest. Sarah and Tom are unsympathetic; it is clear that they feel no obligation to return the favor. My annoyance reminds me what I am capable of. After all, there was another way this task could go—that wasn't how I planned to do it, but now that I've been provoked, maybe that's how this will play out. I look back at the door, remembering the classic "Knock" spell from D&D. "Unlock," I command, pointing at the door, and the latch obediently clicks open. I get back on the unicorn and walk calmly out. Tom and Sarah, who have just climbed down from the shed, are astounded to see this. They are even more shocked when the unicorn gores Sarah through the chest with its horn, tossing her body aside like a limp rag. Tom watches in horror, and then his turn comes. Despite my scruples about killing, once I felt that these DCs had justified it by their treachery, I dispatch them without hesitation or remorse. Instead, I find myself wondering if my unicorn will be transformed by this dreadful act—I was envisioning something like the "bog unicorn" in Dragon Age: Inquisition—but it remains a roan horse with a spiral horn protruding from its head.

Okay, apparently now I'm committed to the murder version of the task, so I need a third victim. [Note: I was mistaken about this; the task only required two.] I remember that earlier in the NLD I had encountered some unpleasant people in town, so I ride back in that direction. On the way, I see a number of people working outdoors. I reflect how easy it would be to pick one at random... but that would be wrong. I can't just run up to a random DC and spear them, unprovoked. I do try to maintain *some* ethical standards.

The people working outside resemble medieval peasants. Actually the whole scene has become more medieval in appearance. Just past the peasants I see the remnants of an old ruined stone structure, reduced to its foundations and a few half-standing walls. Congregating around it are men that I take to be warriors. They have brown or red hair, some balding, and many flaunt long beards decorated with bands and beading. I ride up without attracting any attention. What if I just pick the most evil one? "Show me a rapist," I instruct the dream. Surely among a band of what appear to be tribal warriors from some feudal period there must be no shortage of those, given that it was a standard aspect of warfare in many early societies. So I'd better be more specific: "Show me the worst one." The results are inconclusive: I look over the men again and there is no clear candidate.

I recall D&D includes a spell that can be used to check alignment. Maybe I can frame it this way? I instruct the dream to reveal the most evil person by making them glow. Now I see one: the glow surrounds a burly guy with his back to me, looking out over the water. He has short brown hair shaved into a distinctive flat line where it meets his neck, and his head is bare on top, either bald or shaved. As I approach, he moves away and I lose sight of him, the glow fading. I study the crowd but since I only saw the guy from behind at a distance, it is hard to be sure which one he is. I don't want to pick the wrong guy. I attempt to cast the spell again, but now the glow seems to be targeting someone else. While trying to sort out this confusion, I spy something across the field, even better—no, perfect!

      It is a jousting tournament!

The jousting is already under way, but I ride up and boldly demand to enter the lists. The organizers comply without too much fuss. But I also have demands to make about my opponent: "I wish to find the most immoral among the contenders."

Meanwhile, the more honorable among the knights point out that without a saddle I will surely be unhorsed. Worse, without the protection of armor or a shield, the lance will surely pierce and kill me. I shrug off their objections, thinking that without saddle or armor maybe I can do some stunt riding and duck down to the side, avoiding the lance entirely. After all, my intention is not to strike my opponent with a lance—my unicorn's horn must fulfill that function to complete the task.

I continue to insist that I be matched against the most immoral of the prospective opponents. There is some debate about who that should be. A man wearing ecclesiastical robes and a cross seems to be the top choice, which makes sense given everything I've heard about the medieval church. I realize that this is all taking a very long time and add to my demands:

"Also, I demand to go next!"

The organizers comply with this too. My bout is set up. But I'm not entirely happy with what I see. Facing me at the other end of the lists is a tall black woman on foot, wielding a club in each hand. This isn't what I had in mind: she is not even a jouster! And I sense that she is clearly not the right match: did they assume she was immoral from a medieval sense of racism or xenophobia? Or is she immoral in the fun kind of way, a free-spirited woman who lives large? Either or both seemed likely. This wasn't what I was looking for. If I have to dispatch someone, I prefer that they be genuinely evil.

"No, this is not the right opponent!" I protest. "I mean, who is the most immoral to the people?" There is no response at first. I have the impression that people are intimidated from replying aloud, so I ride up close to the audience in the stands and ask again. Listening closely, I hear a whispered name: "Lüsswig." I ride along the stands and the whispers of "Lüsswig... Lüsswig..." are unmistakable, repeated everywhere by people trying to speak anonymously under their breath.

I return to the center of the lists and announce: "I shall fight Lüsswig!"

Lüsswig turns out to be a guy wearing a long grey cloak with a hood that is closed in the front, completely covering his face. He removes the hood, revealing himself to be a man with short dark brown hair and full cheeks covered with several days worth of stubble. A smug, sinister smile spreads across his face at the prospect of the coming match. [Note: I've spent a long time trying to figure out who Lüsswig resembled, and the best I can come up with is a badly shaven Jonathan Frakes.]

"Yes, this is a better choice," I declare. His glee is slightly unnerving—he clearly thinks he will best me. I mentally prepare myself by deciding that it must be his destiny to die by unicorn.

We take our places at opposite ends of the tilt and... I can feel the dream fading... oh fuck fuck I was so close... hold it together, surely I can... no, I'm in my body, in my bed, it's gone. Lüsswig you bastard... I guess you win after all.

I can only assume this will augment Lüsswig's dastardly reputation. Stories will spread of the mysterious unicorn rider who disrupted the jousting tournament, arrogantly demanding to fight the most evil of men, but then fled the moment she realized was it was Lüsswig!

Notes: So close! So very very close to completing the unicorn task! I could have finished easily had I taken the practical (but vicious) route and chosen a third victim at random. But no, I had to be honorable and look for someone who *deserved* it...

Oh! Oh! I just looked up the terms of the task. For once I misremembered the details to my benefit—I thought I needed to murder three DCs, but now I see it was only two. So I did it after all! And then my mistaken conviction that I needed a third actually led to some pretty cool extra scenes.

    14. Chimera

      by , 04-28-2016 at 03:22 PM
      6.40-7.12am
      Medium LD #401
Something is wrong with my phone. It keeps playing the wrong video or music. Then I see that the curtains have been stuck out of the windows which are now closed, meaning the fabric is on the outside. I open the windows and pull the curtains back inside. While doing this my partner's car pulls up on the driveway so I rush downstairs to open the front door.

Back inside the front room there is a game going on. I collect dice that are scattered on the floor. In a corner of the room is a d10 that is glowing bright white. Dice of power! Alright. I walk through into another room and someone attacks me. I reveal the dice of power clutched in my hand and they back off. Also, in my other hand, a blue triangular stone with a spiral inscribed on it has appeared.

This makes me lucid and after a moment inspecting my hands and arms I look around seeing my sister and another DC. The only exit is a window. At first the glass is solid and resists any attempt to pass through it but after some effort it starts to stretch like molten plastic.

Outside is a garden with a street at the far end. JR and a couple of other DCs are walking along it. Remembering the task of the year I call out for a goat.

From the rocks and bushes at the side of the garden a rather small brown goat tumbles out. It bleats and picks itself up unsteadily. I check it is solid and can feel its coarse hair. "Now unleash the Chimera!" I gesture at the goat and tranform it. It grows to 3m tall and its body turns more lion like while its head and face become an angry predatory bird with a hooked beak.

There's no one here though. "Attack!" I command the Chimera while spinning around and seeing some DCs further up the garden.

The Chimera leaps up onto the rocks and the DCs panic. "Use your lightning powers!" The Chimera becomes covered in an aura of flashing blue lightning that electrocutes several DCs that fall to the ground.

"Use fire breath!" The Chinera spins around and unleashes a flamethrower style gout of flame that incinerates a man running towards it. "Use your poison tail." The Chineras tail whips out and stabs a man in the chest. He staggers and falls down.

The dream is starting to destabilise though... noooo...

Before the final part can be completed the dreams fades. I stay perfectly still and DEILD back in.

The reformed dream has me lying in bed though. Something in my mouth feels loose and I pull out a weird metal bracket. I'm still semi-lucid and trying to get back on track. There is a computer screen near the bed, so I use that to try and control the dream. The Chimera is on screen waiting, like a computer game. I'm about to send it off attacking enemies again when I realise the first part about transforming a goat... so I attempt to turn it into a goat and it shrinks into some weird little squid thing. Uh...

The next attempt has it become a large cartoonish goat, in fact the graphics for the entire dream become 'warcraftish'. A DC tries to distract me by asking something but I ignore them. Waving my hands and chanting some magical made-up words I tranform the goat into my Chimera monster again. It has a similar form to before but more cartoony in fitting with the whole dream.

This time the Chimera is under my telepathic control. Waves of enemies with swords and spears start charging in so I use lightning and flame breath kill them.

The Chimera is perfectly under my control and breathes out an ice cloud that solidifies two more DCs. "Smash the ice!" Dutifully the Chimera raises up onto its hind legs then smashes down on the frozen figures with both front paws.

Oh yeah poison tail... last one. The Chimera has a long lions tail but it is whipping around and is easy to imagine as a snake. It buries its fangs in one DCs neck but now the Chimera and myself have merged into one being and the enemies are swamping me. The crush of numbers starts to destabilise the dream and I wake up.

    15. Angry Fairy and Turnip Fairy (DILD)

      by , 04-26-2016 at 07:52 PM
Ritual: WTB 1am, woke 8:30am after spontaneous DILD.

In the course of an NLD, I was changing clothes in my bedroom when I spontaneously realized I was dreaming. I decided I shouldn't waste any more time fussing with clothes and instead get to work on the next task I had prioritized: the Fairy Circle TOTY. Glancing at myself in the mirror, still partially undressed, I headed outside.

I wondered if the dream would let me pass through the sliding door to the patio without obstruction, but instead I found myself exerting what almost felt like a realistic level of force to open it. Once outside, I didn't want to get bogged down looking for a fairy circle, so I primed my expectations. The fairy circle, it was right over here... I've seen it before. I headed right and found a nice patch of soil like a garden plot. Just as I had "expected," I saw tiny plants like seedlings growing in a distinct circular ring about five feet in diameter. At first I didn't see any mushrooms, so I reminded myself: And there were mushrooms. Looking closer, I now observed a few small mushrooms interspersed among the plants. I also saw a few smooth, bulbous growths that reminded me of the "stone plants" that had fascinated me when I was a kid. I had forgotten those even existed!

Now that the circle was adequately established, I needed to summon fairies. I knelt down and focused on the center of the ring, where the soil was bare. I noticed faint movement in a spot slightly off-center, and then the loose earth began to fall inward, as though a hole were forming beneath it. I continued to concentrate on the summoning, and then an odd formation slowly rose out of the earth until it stood about two feet high. It resembled a candelabra with at least two tiers of arms in all four directions, except instead of candles, it held small figures that I presumed were the fairies. I reached out and grabbed the one from the very top of the arrangement. It was about eight inches tall and stiff like a statuette.

I looked closely at the small figure in my hand. She was dark-skinned with shoulder-length black hair, wearing a crimson dress with a dark green cape on her back. Her hat was the same crimson as her dress, but in form it resembled a Santa hat, with a white fuzzy brim and a white pompom at the end of the conical tip that draped behind her. Attached to the toes of her green shoes were round bells, both silver and green. I thought the overall impression was really cheesy, not at all how I would have preferred to imagine a fairy! There was one more incongruous detail: her face was contorted with an expression of unmistakable anger.

I was tempted to ask her name, but remembered how pointless and distracting this line of questioning can become, so I should get straight to my real question: "What is your secret?"

Her response was both unexpected and chilling: "It is evil." She sounded as furious as she looked.

"What is?" I asked, utterly perplexed.

I can't recall her initial response, but it did not resolve my confusion. I decided to be more specific: "When you said, 'It is evil,' what did you mean by 'it'?"

She said a few more things that I don't recall, and then a line that struck me clearly: "The evil of a controlled substance is the substance."

This was even more confusing. I hardly ever use controlled substances, at least not illegal ones, so I didn't understand how this could be relevant. Moreover, I disagreed with her stated position: in my view, the main evil of a controlled substance is the social strictures that punish people for possessing or using it.

"Why did you bury amphetamines?" the fairy pressed.

What happened next was the clearest case of false memory that I've experienced to date. With what felt like a flash of insight, I suddenly realized the probable reason she was so angry. I "remembered" something about my fairy circle—something that I'm pretty sure had not come up in the dream until the point at which I now "remembered" it, but now seemed to explain everything. I recalled that at one point I had buried a bunch of drugs inside the fairy circle, mostly amphetamines, as part of my preparations for the ritual to lure or summon the fairies. It now occurred to me that this might have caused problems within fairy society, and I felt a twinge of guilt.

I didn't think I would get any more useful information from this fairy, so I put her aside and grabbed another, this time from the side of the candelabra-like arrangement.

This fairy didn't look human at all. It looked like... a turnip? Was that the right vegetable? The white round bulb with a blush of purplish-red at the top? Yes, a turnip. I was reminded of a photograph of a white radish by Edward Weston (1886–1958) that I had seen the day before in WL. This was clearly a turnip, not a radish, but it gave me a similarly vulgar impression. If this was a fairy, it was clearly not from the upper echelon of fairy society. Or could its abject appearance be the result of too many amphetamines?

      Well, here goes.

"I have a question." I said, wondering if the turnip-fairy could understand me. "The question I've come to ask is: What is your secret?"

I was still rotating the turnip in my hands as I spoke to it, uncertain which side was the appropriate one to address. How do you talk to something with no face?

I heard a male voice, faint, with the accents of a yokel, like Cletus on The Simpsons. It responded to the question in my mind, not the one I had voiced: "There is a side that says: 'Look at me'."

I realized the turnip must be trying to help me orient it properly, so I turned it until I found a round black label with white block lettering that, sure enough, said "LOOK AT ME." It was hard to make out—I missed it at first—because the label was embedded in a scene featuring the stylized profile of a man in a black cloak.

"It would be a lot easier to see if there was some white space around it," I commented about the label.

The turnip-fairy took my suggestion and the surrounding scene promptly faded, leaving the round black label with its white letters clearly discernible. I reminded the turnip that I had come to ask its secret.

I don't recall its initial answer, but I do remember my skepticism. Whatever he had said had sounded as unconvincing as the response I had gotten from the first fairy, and I assumed that he, too, might be pursuring an agenda that involved concealing the truth.

"I don't think that's your secret." I said doubtfully. "Tell me your real secret."

The tone of his response implied that I was wilfully ignoring the obvious: "Oh come on, we can't tell you that."

Even before his sentence had concluded, I was ejected from the scene and found myself standing in my bathroom. I felt like I had woken up, but wasn't sure. I briefly considered going back outside and attempting to continue the scenario, but realized I should promptly write down what had already happened. I grabbed my notepad from the bedside table, and after a bit of trouble with the pen—which I recognized as another dream sign—I started writing down what had happened. Although I realized I was probably not yet awake, I figured that even while still dreaming it could be useful to write down some initial recollections while they were fresh, and it might help me remember them better when I did wake up.

However, I hadn't gotten more than a few sentences into it when dream-writing began to feel tedious, and I was afraid I would get distracted, fall into an NLD, and lose the memories entirely, so I forced myself awake. But as soon as I grabbed my actual notepad to begin writing in WL, I realized my mistake: merely transitioning to wakefulness had dulled the memories of the dream that had been so crystal clear just before I had woken up. I wrote down everything I could still recall, but unfortunately some details of the conversations were lost.
