    1. Goodbye for now.

      by , 07-29-2015 at 04:21 PM
This is Day 15 into my LD experience, and as you can read in my Day 11 update I will be traveling to Ecuador for a month, where I hope to have my first LD. Today and yesterday I didn't post because I didn't remember any dreams or perhaps didn't make the proper effort to do so. I may post some entries as I will have limited access to the internet there. I will be instead keeping my dreams hand-written in my dream journal.

    2. Day 13

      by , 07-27-2015 at 03:42 PM
I feel like now i am able to recall my dreams at will, i always know how it will happen and what I have to do. I just lay in bed and ask myself what my dreams were, and they COME to me. Even when I'm sure I didn't have any, they will always come.

I could remember two dreams, they were both pretty vivid and LONG, I remember the first one in most detail and can't recall a lot of the second one.

I don't remember who I was, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't myself. I had recently out of the blue decided to escape wherever I was and run away. I was in this giant forest where there was a scientific facility. When there was no one around, I started running into the forest. I walked for a little bit, then the slope began to get higher and the foliage thicker. That was when I came to this huge ravine; the drop below was like a bottomless pit. It was all very beautiful however. When I was there, this helicopter flew over me and it was carrying this large what looked like white panel that was probably going to be used for construction. It fell off of the helicopter and came crashing down, taking a couple trees with it and went down into the ravine. I was scared the helicopter would see me, so I hide low among the trees. When the helicopter was gone, I ran, following the edge ravine and in the general direction of where I believed another facility to be. I eventually came to a building where there were lots of people. I managed to sneak in. At some points I had to fight people but I kept running towards the exit. Fast-forward after I pretty much escaped, I was in this Target (the store) and that was where I met this girl who must've been around 20ish, I was around the same age as her although as I previously stated, I wasn't the one having this dream. Anyway for some reason I asked her if she wanted to join me on the run and she said yes. It was decided, we did some things together for a little bit, then the dream fades.

Another dream I had that I was just remembering now; I was at this village with my father and it was getting to be nighttime, I went for a walk for some reason and my dad told me to be careful, I think he was warning me about werewolves and some other evil creatures. There was ALOT more to this dream but I simply can't remember it.

    3. Day 12

      by , 07-26-2015 at 02:24 PM
I feel like these dreams were more vivd than the others, though still not that vivid. I feel like I want to start practicing techniques that will help me have a DILD.*I'll elaborate, I feel like in my prior post I have recognized enough dream signs that are starting to show up consistently within my dreams.*

I was taking the subway with my mother in NYC. We were waiting for the train at the station when a pulse of light came down from the beginning of the tunnel where the train would come out of and then exited the tunnel and continued down. We were all very confused. Then a dog came through. The form of this dog was very small(almost like a puppy), and after he exited, another one came, but larger. This repeated, the dogs kept getting larger and larger until eventually a werewolf came through(and then a giant rectangular form of a vicious dog), then this morphed into a train that we took. Then the dream shifted, and I was talking on the phone to my friend Michael about how to play a specific piano song. He was telling me over the phone, it was my pointer finger on my left hand and my pointer finger on my right hand, and I heard him playing this song that I wanted to learn how to play over the phone(which he was telling me how to play. I had a big apple danish in my hand, I assume it was for my breakfast(but I didn't like it much). I was again on my way to the train station.

      I can remember another dream.

I don't think I was myself in this dream, I feel like I was a psychotic orphan living in an orphanage. When the morning bell rang, I was on top of the roof and I refused to come down. I don't think I was crazy though, just different. At least that's the way I felt.

    4. Day 11 Update

      by , 07-26-2015 at 01:14 AM
This is only my 11th day into my attempts to have a lucid dream; though I must say that it already feels like at least 2 weeks. I have decided to forget about actually becoming lucid, and focus more on my dream recall. This seems like one of the most important aspects when talking about lucid dreaming.I need to be able to remember my dreams before I even realize I am dreaming, or else I many not even recall having the dream. I have stopped performing reality checks so often and have been focusing on my dream journal. My goal for now is to remember at least 2 dreams a night consistently. Right now, I am remembering 1 per nights and perhaps a dream fragrant of a second. I find that recalling dreams in the morning is very peculiar; I need to just sit back and think about what I had dreamt the night before and my mind does the rest. At first it usually seems like I can't remember any dreams from the night before and this is discouraging. Then at least one dream just enters into my brain, and it seems silly how I could have even forgot about it. It feels like it's there all along, but hidden until my mind needs to find it. One aspect I'm having trouble with is lucidness(Not sure if this is the right term). It doesn't at all feel as detailed as real life in many of my dreams. Especially when I'm remembering them; it just doesn't feel as vivid. For example, in the main dream I have recorded today, I cannot remember the girls face, even though I feel like I knew her in my dream. No, they certainly don't feel as vivid as real life. This is a skill I hope to work on.

Now I am going to talk about my own possible dream signs. I only have about half a week's worth of dreams, but now I am going to try to take them and analyze the signs I may see them so for the future I can attain lucidity easier.

Themes I've Noticed in my Dreams:
      1. Traveling
      2. Family Members and Relatives
      3. New York City

I'll give a brief explanation for each below.
      1. In almost every dream there seems to be some sort of transportation. In my Day 11 dream, I was at a train station going back to NYC. In my Day 10 dream, I was also at a subway station for most of the dream. For Day 8, I was riding a bicycle. IN my Day 7 dream, I was in a car on the BQE.
      2. In practically all of my dreams, every one except for the one today in fact, I was accompanied by some type of parent/guardian. This may be because I'm used to it as a 14 year old, I go places with adults and have for most of my life and until I become a true adult this may always be the case in my dreams; even when I go to college when there is no family around most of the time my mind may still take time to transition into knowing that I do not have a parent looking over my shoulder throughout my life.
      3. New York City. This is where I was born and raised, however for most of this summer I will not be there, making it the ideal time to lucid dream. I am currently staying in NJ until the end of July; then I will be traveling to Ecuador for August. This means I should be able to recognize in a dream that I am not actually in NYC, though most of my dreams have taken place there.
*I will not be able to bring a computer to Ecuador, so I will not post here throughout August but will keep a hand written dream journal. When I return I will attempt to transfer a months worth of journal entries on here, but that may take some time obviously.

    5. Day 11

      by , 07-26-2015 at 12:21 AM
I posted this during the nighttime, because I had to leave early to go on a trip but I wrote this in the morning, just didn't get a chance to post it. When I awoke, I lay in bed still trying to remember my dreams. I couldn't recall anything and was disappointed. Then my memories of this dreams started flooding into my head; I remember thinking "Of course!" I definitely see improvement with my dream recall even though I've only been doing this journal for a week and a half.

I had arrived in a different city, I don't know where but I feel like it was Seattle or San something. The place was a law firm, and I was being interviewed to get a job there, almost like an internship or something. It was weird because the boss was an older woman who gave off a very dumbledore-like feel. Maybe like Patty Hewes. She took me to the top floor where my room would be, and there was a mattress. Soon my room had become extremely messy. I can't actually remember doing any work there, but I remember that at one point after I was answering questions for my boss she offered me the job. I said yes. Flash forward and I think that it was time to leave. Like leave the city. I was taking the train. This girl who I can't remember her face, if I did I would remember her name, said she would meet me there. Ah, I remember her now. I'm pretty sure I remember it was this girl from my old middle school. I feel like she acted almost as my guide throughout most of this dream. Anyway she offered to take the train with me and told me that it was on track 2/3 and gave me my ticket. I went down to the marina where there were also train tracks, but I got very confused and purchased another ticket onto the wrong train or something. Eventually I realized where the right train was and asked a conductor whether or not the train was going to "New York Penn," the station I usually get on. Now that I'm on the train, I start looking for the girl, but since I can only see people's heads, I look for her hair. Now that I'm thinking about it, I think it was a different girl because I remember her hair color was being a darkish blonde, yet the two I thought the girl was share the same first name. I spot her soon enough and go up to her and take a seat. Then an amount of time passes, or maybe this is even a different dream. I am on the top of a train, sitting down, it's cold. I'm in a seat because it's normal for there to be seats there...can't recall the rest.

    6. Day 10

      by , 07-24-2015 at 01:29 PM
I didn't post Day 9 because I had nothing to post; there were no dreams that I could remember. I feel like today in the morning when I was remembering these dreams I was having them, or else it was like I was dreaming JUST before I woke up because they were pretty vivid. There are some parts I am not aware of however.

I had about 2 dreams I could remember, here is the first; the second is very short but it was longer I just couldn't remember the rest:

I was walking the streets of NYC with my mother, it was around sun down and getting sort of dark. We went down in a subway station I assume to try to go home ,but I was never tld where my destination was. When we went down into the station, I saw this girl I had a huge crush on standing there with one of her friends. She had on a red jacket and a silver hat that looked like it was made of tinfoil. I wasn't close friends with her friend who was there, but my mom kept asking her friend (who was a guy) to come over and have a sleepover, and I kept pulling her away and saying Mom. STOP And I could tell that the vibe I was giving off was depressed and sort of lame, because I hadn't seen the girl in a WHILE and so this was her impression after seeing me again after a long time. Anyway, we were talking and its apparent she has to go soon, so I take her stuff and put it in a train that just arrived's open doors. Then when she's done doing whatever she was doing, she looked around for her stuff and then at me and I motioned that I put it in the train FOR her. She motioned that she was still staying here, i was a different train she needed. The doors were about to close soon, but I rushed into the train anyway, and the doors closed on my shoulders. I remained here for a little but, until I caught the eye of the conductor. I made the praying symbol and said"Please" then held up one finger as if to say only for 1 min ute. The conductor nodded, and I dashed in there to get her stuff. First I got something for her I think it might've been an article of clothing. I gave it to her then I needed to get her jacket, but some lady was sitting on the seat where I had put it so I kind of push her up and grab her jacket and rush out. I give it to her and she looks at me and very sincerely says "Cade, thank you." After that she placed the tinfoil silver hat on my head, almost as a token of appreciation/gratitude Then she must've left so I walk out of the subway station and once I get to the sidewalk I walk backwards up the sidewalk.

Before this, I had a dream that took place next to a deserted tropical island, but there was something special aboutt hat island. I can't remember the rest now. There was magic or something.

    7. Day 8

      by , 07-22-2015 at 04:26 PM
      Dream #2

      Start

I had a dream that I was riding down my bike down 5th avenue and I think it was some kind of fair, I was riding my bike with my dad, and I remember there were these two girls that were following us. They may or may not have been intentionally following us. Eventually me and my dad stopped at this store to get something, and they stopped as well and asked us for directions and help. I remember we didn't want to help them because they were from a place that we didn't like (lol) and we got sort of mad at them. I vaguely remember another part of this dream but not enough to describe it. There was another part though. I remember more of it now! The two girls were in front of us, and one of them thought that I was staring at her from behind even though I wasn't. (Like staring at her inappropriately/checking her out)Then me and my dad overtook them and went in front of them, and I could still hear them talking about how they thought I was a creep or something. So I stopped riding for a second and got off my bike so that I blocked their paths and they had to stop. I turned around, and said "Look, I'm sorry you thought I did that, I didn't just so you know, I apologize for it." Then for some reason as soon as I started talking to them about it, the girl who thought I did it immediately looked extremely sorry and almost started to cry. She apologized then as well. Then we continued riding, my dad throughout all of this was pretty oblivious. Eventually I felt like the girls and I were semi/tentative friends. They were teenagers and about my age a little older. We stopped at a store to buy something or rest, and they stopped to to ask us for directions. We asked them where they were from and I believe that we didn't like the answer they got from us, I think it was something with an H like "the Hamptons" so we got sort of mad at them. Here I believe my dream transitioned into something else, a different dream, but I forget the plot of that one. It involves a temple of some sort.

      End

My experience with this one was a little weird. When I woke up, I stayed in bed trying to remember the dreams I had. After trying for around 3 minutes, I got up and went over to my computer to try to document this. Only after being on my computer for a couple minutes it suddenly came to me. This was pretty odd.

      Possible Dream Signs:
      • Like my previous dream, I was with a FAMILY member
      • Traveling, last dream I was in a car, this time I was on a bike
      • Both dreams seemed to take place in NYC

That's all I can think of for now.

    8. Day 7: Results from Night 6

      by , 07-21-2015 at 01:59 PM
I woke up about 5 minutes ago, as soon as I woke up my thoughts were on dreaming. At first I could not remember any dreams immediately and was frustrated by this, but as soon as I relaxed and let my thoughts come to me did my experience below. I was very excited at how this worked out; I had read on this site about people doing exactly that and am glad to see some improvements with my dream recall, because I have hardly been able to remember any of my dreams at all. Below are my dreams, I am not actually sure if they are one dream or two, because there is a transition point where it is unclear to me whether or not it is all part of the same dream.

      Dream #1

      ***START***

I was on my way to some type of Lucid Dream simulator with my mother, this LD simulator was a big warehouse but it also seemed like some type of attraction that people payed to go through(like an amusement park type of thing but there were no other rides, it was just this big warehouse). It was supposed to simulate what it was like to be inside of a LD, obviously. We went into it room by room, sometimes there were other people within the rooms moving along like us. The rooms were usually very dark, and thinking about it now each room wasn't very much like a LD but there were almost strips of lights that almost looked like blacklights. In many of the rooms there was zero or low gravity, and in another room we were in there was a terrarium. After we left this LD simulator/attraction, we (still being with my mother) traveled on a highway/road that looked a lot like the BQE and I believe that we were going to my grandmother's house, or somewhere like that.(This is the point at which I am not sure about if this is a new dream or still one whole dream) My grandmother is dead now, but when we got to this house it was actually a small apartment where there were a lot of old people around talking about my grandmother and my uncle, who is also deceased. I partially recognized some of them as my distant relatives. They were talking about how he liked to sky dive, and that's all I remember because then I must've drifted out of consciousness.

      ***END***

I can now see how odd it is that I did NOT become lucid for the first dreaming, even though we were going inside a LUCID DREAM SIMULATOR LOL This is ok, I still don't mind as I know I am only a beginner and don't expect to have an LD anytime soon, it is heartening to see progress with my dream recall.
I will make a list of possible dream signs that I noticed, I know this is pretty much my first dream but I am still going to list some aspects to compare them to other dreams later:
      • Family
      • Deceased Family Members
      • Driving

This is all I could come up with for now, I'm sure this list will evolve more in the future.
I'm just happy I had a dream I could remember

Today is Day 7 of my interest with Lucid Dreams, and these were my results from Night 6.

    9. Day 6 Update

      by , 07-20-2015 at 08:28 PM
I haven't had any LDs or dreams that I could remember Night 5, though luckily I feel like I am finding it easier to fall asleep at my will through this process. I still cannot remember any dreams that I have had this past week, save for one I remembered Day 4 that I had Day 2 (this had to do with me walking the streets of NYC Houston Street and walking to a new school that may have taken place in my old one). My recollection of this dream is vague at best, at the time I did not at all realize it was a dream and even after waking up my mind failed to accept and remember that my experience was a dream. Tonight I am going to attempt to do WBTB and perhaps FILD or the technique that I previously posted but didn't go through with due to a technical malfunction. On my iPhone I have also downloaded a free app I believe is titled "Lucid Dreamer." It has a premium version that gives access to a "subliminator, reality checker, etc" and things of that nature. The subliminator is the one I find the most interesting. When I press start with the subliminator suggested, it shows a quick slideshow of short phrases and words such as "You are dreaming," "You can do it," "reality check," "control," and other places/lanscapes such as "Jungle" or "Forest." I stared at it for around 5 minutes throughout my day, and I question the validity of it. I will write an update tomorrow about my experience with dreaming tonight.

    10. Night 4 Update (Technically Day 5)

      by , 07-19-2015 at 09:37 AM
Just writing to update about what happened tonight. It is currently 4:34 AM on the 4th night of my attempts to Lucid dream. I was attempting this method: https://www.reddit.com/r/LucidDreami...e_time_for_me/ and the strangest thing happened: the alarm didn't wake me up. I am not what one could say a "heavy" sleeper and majority of the time I am woken up by alarms. I still woke up, but it was at a different time then I was supposed to. I made the decision to stay up for the rest of the day in an attempt to rob my body of further REM cycles, so that they can be more potent the next day (this is another method I heard about) or so that I may be able to have a lucid dreaming if I decide to take a nap today.

    11. Night 4 of LD attempts

      by , 07-19-2015 at 02:30 AM
This is the 4th night I have become interested in becoming lucid in my dreams; I have also decided to restart my dream journal into this site. My other 3 nights have been unsuccessful in becoming lucid in my dreams, I have even failed to remember my dreams for the past 3 nights. This suggests that I need to work on my dream recall more before I even have a lucid dream. Here are the techniques that I used when attempting to LD my previous nights; understand that before these days I have had no experience with LDing whatsoever and am complete newbie to this:
      1. FILD
      2. DILD
      3. DILD
      4. Tonight I plan to use a method found on reddit, I will post the link below

Here is the link to the technique I plan to use tonight: https://www.reddit.com/r/LucidDreami...e_time_for_me/
It reminds me of the WBTB method quite a bit but seems more directed in a sense, I will see how it goes tonight.
