Non-lucid dream of extream emotions. need help understanding why.

    by , 10-14-2016 at 05:10 PM (720 Views)
I can usually lucid dream with abilities to wake myself up from a nightmare, control my actions, or even control whole aspects of my dreams.

but last night I had a dream that I could not do anything about. I was along for the ride.

    ill cut out unimportant details.

in my dream I was my current age (27) and I was with 3 friends. we were heading to our old high school hang out spot. a small multi-level abandoned factory of some sort. we get there and I'm immediately overran with emotions of sadness, GREATLY missing her, love, and loss. I go to a spot where she and I used to sit on a ledge high on this building, and watch the sun set. when I get there I just stood there staring, missing her, and feeling so sad that she was not here. in my dreams I have flashbacks of our first kiss, me confessing my love to her, us sitting there I out cap and gowns from graduation holding hands, her crying because I had told her that I had enlisted with the army and was shipping out in a month. then one of my friends approached me and said that I didn't miss her as much as she did, and it was my fault that she is gone because I enlisted and left her. we both started to cry. so I sad down at the ledge and stared into the sunset as I cried.

then all of a sudden it was like my dream changed gears completely. the ledge changed to a back porch of a house. I was sitting there smoking a cigarette instead of crying. I hear the doorbell ring so I get up to go answer the door. as im walking towards the door 2 other friends of mine are walking the same direction. one of them yells "alright lets get this party started" I open the door and there is about 20 people all holding party supplies. they start flooding into this house like a stampede.

At the moment I hear my 3 week old son start crying and I wake up.

I'm here because the emotions from the dream have followed me into reality and I keep thinking back to the dream and I feel the emotions to the point of my eyes welling up on me.

I don't know what to make of it. if any wants to talk with me about it. or has some questions please ask away.

nothing is too personal to me as I am an open book. I will answer just about any question.

      Hi Breeze,
I'm Guy Huntington. I'm an older guy (pun intended), who had a near death experience nearly 13 years ago that changed me. It lead me to meditation, dream journalling and then applying my higher self to assisting me in interpreting my dreams. When i did this my "dream gates" swung wide open. My view of the world we live in is quite different than the average person.

So, before I get to assisting you with your dream, you might want to "check me out". About a year and a half ago, I felt compelled to let others know what I have learnt. At first, I resisted because the analogy I use in my head for what I know about dreaming is akin to leass than a teaspoon of water compared to all the waters in the oceans, i.e. not much. However, the feeling persisted. So I created "learningfrommydreams" dot com.

There you'll find a high level 10 things I've learnt from my dreams, a resource page rich in many different resources to learn about ourselves, a meditation page describing many different ways to meditate, a dream discussion paper where I lay out what I've learnt about dream symbols, a story about the multiverse we live in I created to try to convey what I have learnt, and finally some sample dream interpretations for others I've helped.

You are obviously listening to yourself. Your lucid dreaming and dream recall are but a few examples. This is all good.

If you read some of my posts in helping others interpret their dreams, you'll see i use both a masculine, analytical framework and my feminine abilities to access my higher self.

The framework is something I "borrowed" from a man named Kurt Leland. When I came across his website several years ago, it deeply resonated within me. There's a link to him off the learningfrommydreams resource page you might want to read. So I use the framework of location, lighting, objects, people/animals et al/thought & feelings to analyze a dream.

I then use my higher self to ask questions. You'll see from my dream discussion paper on the website that I have gone well beyond what Freud and Jung were calling anima and animus. i am totally fascinated on how we create our personalities before we incarnate. This has lead me to beliefs with two polarities. If you want to chat about this after you've waded through my stuff, I'd be happy to do so.

Okay, well enough of me babbling on. if you want me to assist you, then here's the work I want you to do.

First of all tell me how many scenes there were in the dream. Don't edit out scenes because you think they weren't relevant. Tell me ALL of them.

THEN, FOR EACH SCENE, I want you to tell me the following:

      Location:
I want you to look in your mind, as the observer, in the following directions and tell me what you see:
      1. To your left.
      2. To your right.
      3. In front of you.
      4. Behind you.
      5. Above you.
      6. Below you.

It’s all right if you can’t recall much. Simply tell me what you see and make sure I know what direction it is from you the dreamer. In my interpretation, you’ll see how this is a symbol itself.

When you are describing what you see, tell me in as much detail as you can recall about it. So things I am very interested in is what are walls, doors, windows, stairs, tables, etc. made of, age/style, colour, etc. The same goes for anything outside. You’ll see in my interpretations how all of this tells us lots about ourselves.

      Lighting:
      1. Tell me what the lighting was like, i.e. bright, dull, black, cloudy etc.
      2. Then tell me where the light was coming from.
      3. Can you tell the time of day or season?
Lighting is important in a dream because it’s a symbol of vibrational state. I’ll explain this during my interpretation for you.

      Objects:
If there are any objects in a dream scene, then tell me about them as follows:
      1. Shape, size, colour and what they were made of.
      2. Where the object is in the dream relative to you, i.e. left, right, etc.

I’ve found objects in dreams are usually symbols of things we first need to concentrate on spiritually. I’ll explain this in the interpretation if you had any objects in any of the scenes.

      People:
For each person in a dream scene I want you to do the following:
      1. Describe them to me in as much detail as you can recall. This includes age, gender, clothes, colour of the clothes, what the clothes were made of.
      2. Tell me where they were in the dream scene relative to you, i.e. left, right, below, etc.
      3. Tell me if they were lying down, sitting, standing, walking, etc.
      4. Tell me what they did with you. Don’t skip the details. Simply tell me exactly what happened.
      5. If there are any conversations or thoughts between you and the person or others, then tell me EXACTLY WHAT WAS SAID. This is important.
      6. If there were others you couldn’t see but felt, then let me know where you felt they were in a scene relative to you the dreamer, i.e. left, right, etc.

      Animals. Etc.:
If there were any animals, insects, birds, reptiles, fish or whatever in any of the scenes, then tell me. Describe them in as great as detail as you can recall. Also let me know where they were in the dream scene relative to you, i.e. left, right, etc. Then let me know of any thoughts that passed between you and them.

      Thoughts/Feelings:
This is a very important part of every dream scene. Take your time, go back and tell me the following for each scene:
      1. What was your first thought/feeling as the dream scene began.
      2. Tell me of any thoughts/feeling changes as the dream scene progressed and let me know where in the scene this occurred.
      3. Tell me your last thought/feeling as the dream ended.

I know this is a lot of work. However, i think you'll be surprised at how much learning there can be from a single dream scene.

if you want to do this by email you can email me at guy @ hvl dot net.

Thanks for reading this long comment.

      With kind regards,
      Guy
