    2 Near Lucid Dreams

I've had 1 lucid dream so far and I'm trying everything I can to have another one.

I went to sleep using DreamZ which is supposed to play a voice recording when I enter REM sleep. It worked okay as the voice recording went off in the middle of a dream, but unfortunately, I began to wake up in the middle of the recording. Even though I failed to stay asleep, I recognized that I was waking up and remembered to stay completely still when I did so that I could try out DEILD. I did a great job of not moving and without a few seconds, I could feel myself go into sleep paralysis.

It was a lot more intense that I expected though. You know the feeling of having a foot wake up from being asleep? Well it felt like that in reverse all over my body (minus the sharp painful sensations that you get when you aggravate a sleep limb). It was combined with a vibration all over my body, and it freaked me the heck out. I tried to stay calm and picture a dream, but I was worried that I was going to be so paralyzed that I couldn't breath. My heart started racing, and the sleep paralysis ended. I tried to breath through a closed nose just to make sure I didn't have a false awakening, but I unfortunately not in a dream.

Later that night (or morning by then...) I was dreaming and saw a bus floating in the sky as if it had driven off a cliff, but in slow motion. I immediately thought, that's weird, I wonder if it's a dream. I tried to breath through a closed nose, and was amazed that I could. It was strange though because part of me felt like I could and part felt like I couldn't. It was like my dream was trying to stick with physics and prevent me from breathing but I could breath anyway. Either way, I knew that this must be what it feels like to try to breath through a closed nose in a dream. Unfortunately, I closed my eyes during this process and when I opened them, I was awake in my bed.

I learned some valuable lessons though, and I got to experience a couple sensations that I had never felt before (sleep paralysis and breathing through a closed nose in a dream).
