Lucid Dreams
Yeah. So Its been over two weeks since my last LD, hopefully it will be a dry spell if I can manage to LD more frequently. Today I woke at 6:45 - very slowly. I was so groggy. I worked out, had breakfast, showered and went to two classes. I got back to my room and took a nap. I fell asleep quickly. Its been a long week. I have been using the mantra 'I notice details and become aware' before I fall asleep and sporadically throughout the day. When I use it sporadically, I practice noticing details in my environment. So how'd I get lucid? Well, as I was falling asleep I pretended to become lucid in the short daydreams I experienced before bed. I asked where one of my friends where he was going next year and he said, "Toyota." I then thought, Toyota is not a place, and pretended to become lucid. Then, as I fell deeper asleep I had some H.H., I offended a dog somehow and it Put its mouth over my bent knee and began to bite it. This got me aware and woke up my mind as I fell asleep. I then decided to wait for a dream scene to begin. I could feel my consciousness floating thru my mind and thinking how relaxing it was. When the dream scene formed, I was not completely in control of my actions. I was also not completely aware. I was lucid, but not aware, just kind of going thru the motions. I was going to kiss this girl in my dream. I did an RC to check that I was dreaming, as to not screw up my normal life if I wasn't dreaming. Everything faded after that, or I simply do not remember. I am going to try to focus more on control than doing things in my dreams. Thanks for reading ~ BB316
So I woke up around 5:50 am this morning after going to bed around midnight. I worked out, ate breakfast and went to class. I decided to skip chem (it was only a review for homework I haven't started) and decided to nap. I hoped I would catch my REM cycle and I did. I laid down for a nap at 9:35. I did some relaxation and breathing exercises and began to fall asleep. I lost focus and found myself being forced back to awareness in my relaxed state by hearing the sound of loud snoring/coughing coming from me. This was not me, however, I was experiencing some HH noises. They were very loud. After that, I rolled onto my side and fell asleep. I repeated to myself,"I'm dreaming", which didn't last long. I fell asleep and found myself in a dream. The details before lucidity are hazy. I realized I was dreaming by noticing something off in my environment. Everything seemed so REAL, I was thoroughly convinced I was in reality even though I had noticed something was wrong with the reality I was experiencing. I decided to do an RC and found I was dreaming. I decided to try to solve my Rubik's cube and the dream faded after about another minute (dream time).
So I repeated my WBTB/mantra method. I woke up around 4 am and went back to sleep at 510. Before I went to bed, I remember being doubtful I would LD two nights in a row. I reassured myself I would and built up some expectations and excitement. It seems being expectant and excited is key to success. I had a full dream, but can't remember it, ugh. I think I might have been partially lucid. Slightly remember being mad I was losing the dream. Then I had a FA and caught it when I noticed that when i reached under my pillow with both hands, both of my hands grabbed a phone. I thought, 'I only have one phone!' and became lucid. The dream quickly faded as I tried to change the scenery. I entered a new dream I employed a new mantra method i read on a post yesterday to repeatedly write a mantra. Unsure if this worked or if it was my WBTB technique, but I had an LD! Going to try a shorter waking time in my WBTB tonight. I drank about 1.5+ bottles of water before bed. It was too much. (I drink water before bed to wake up in the middle of the night to use the restroom so I can wake without an alarm)

I have been practicing a mix between ADA and SAT throughout the day, increasing my general awareness. I did a WBTB, taking a short nap around 10-11pm, and then went to sleep at about 12:30am. As i fell asleep i used the mantra,"I am constantly aware of my surroundings." I caught a false awakening. It seems lucky to me. I normally use the nose plug RC but I also remember inspecting my phone and watch. I was unsure I was dreaming at first, i wasn't very lucid, but a routine RC caught it. I lost the dream due to excitement. After I had ANOTHER false awakening, that's right back to back FA's. In the FA I was writing in my DJ, I keep a pocket book beneath my pillow.
I will be using my DJ here to explain how i induced lucidity on lucid dreams I have. Sorry, but my dream content is personal. Combo of WTBT/MILD/DILD I went to sleep after staying up for about 80 minutes from waking up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. I did homework and some reading. I then used a mantra as I fell asleep. When in my dream I realized I was dreaming by noticing something in the scenery was off. Can't remember what it was.
