Going to start using images in this journal to explain some of the odder visions that work their way into my dreams
I had a couple of extremely brief dream fragments before I woke up for the first time this morning. The first was another dream where I was a baby, the second had something to do with a football match (if anything, the latter one was scarier since I have no love for the sport at all!)
Adventures with Deformed Baby and Gharial Raven
Somewhere in middle of those two odd dream fragments, though, I had something much more vivid. I was in a maze, I'm pretty sure that it was that one from the old Windows screensaver.
I was stumbling through it randomly, just cruising on autpilot, when I came upon something in the way. It was a baby, but it was deformed. All of its features were sunken into its face and its body was just a small, puffy mass with no limbs sticking out. It reminded me a little bit of C.H.A.D. from Super Meat Boy.

Somehow, I transitioned to the conservatory-cum-dining room at the back of my house. It was twilight on a pretty balmy evening, and the sky was a sort of black-and-copper colour - a hue which somehow seemed to transfer itself onto the rest of the environment.
I was sitting with my family, but my Mum and Dad weren't really the focus of my attention - it was the deformed baby, who was still there. I remember being absolutely convinced by this point that it was my younger sister (who in reality, is sixteen years old). I also remember having absolutely no problem with her appearance. I think I was feeding her in a highchair.
I became aware that two pigeons were resting on the wall light. They were mirroring the actions of me and my sister, in a way - sharing something and showing displays of affection.
I hate pigeons with a vengeance and chase them away whenever they're even in the back garden, so having them in the house filled me with an unspeakable rage. I got up and flapped my hands, shooing them away. They scattered, flying out of the back door and into the garden.
As I turned, I saw an large, black raven waiting for them, crouching low with a strange, long beak that looked like a pair of pliers. It snapped at the pigeons, and then its beak grew into a pair of gharial jaws.
Lastly and most inexplicably, a strange, bark-like substance encircled the wounded pigeons and the gharial-raven so that it they were all tied up together in one great big cylinder of wood.
The dream crashed there, and I'm not sure whether I woke up immediately or not. All that I know for certain is that I wrote down the previous dreams on my pad at about 6am and then went back to bed, where I had the following dream...
The Fight Runner, Vampire Edition
I became aware that I was in a crowd of people. A lot of them were anime characters. I would guess that that initial scene probably came from this:
(Pretty sure they weren't all Naruto characcters, though.)
I became aware that we were all fighting each other, and so I ended up joining in, throwing punches everywhere. I can still feel a tingle in the back of my knuckles remembering that, the sensation of punching was probably the most vivid part of the entire dream.
At length, the fight progressed through a variety of different terrain. At first we were fighting on the Team Fortress 2 map, Upward.
Then we progressed to a gloomy hallway, with a strong theme of red and black. People were runnning continuously along it, hurling projectiles back and forth occasionally. After a travelling in this manner, letting out a few more punches for good measure in the process, I came upon a hallway. There was a woman lying there, gasping for breath and surrounded by some of the other fighters who were tending to her. There was a pink, glowing symbol on her neck that looked like a set of fangs.
For some reason, though, I knew better and I was convinced that this woman was up to no good. So I punched her in the face, too, and continued whizzing along.
Suddenly, I was in a section of the hall that formed a T-junction. Nobody else was seened to be here and it was deathly quiet. I was convinced, though, that I was about to be attacked. Perhaps I even willed it to happen, on some level. I flattened my back agains the wall and looked ahead, left and right at regular intervals, trying to make sure that there was no way that I could be taken by surprise.
Then I looked up. I caught a short glimpse of this:

And then time stood still. The dream crashed there, and I woke up. The thing is, I wasn't particularly frightened by it, more thrilled that I had experienced something that exciting.![]()
