    1. Moving and the Lion

      by , 09-16-2017 at 04:26 PM
08-20-2017 -- At the Hickory house doing packing, I think. Not quite sure what is going on, but there are disappearing pets, and injured cats, and we're trying to figure out what is happening, when I discover that there is a lion running around the neighborhood, killing and eating other animals, and mauling people when it catches them. The neighbors at 8439 are running around in terror, trying to hide behind their big mobile home trailer, while the lion is just laying under the thing, eating the family dog, and occasionally taking a swipe at their legs.

So I'm looking around for Sammy, hoping he's safe, and trying to figure out where the lion is and when it might be safe, and the answer is pretty much never. The lion seems to be hiding off to the right side of the house in an area where the garage should be, but it is not. At one point, I am wandering around trying to find things, and come across the lion around the side of the house, and start to run for the door, and the lion starts to chase me, and I realize the running attracts it's attention. When I was just walking, it paid me much less attention. So I slow down, and before it can react, dart toward it and start scratching it on the head, and to that it reacts like a kitten, and purrs and loves the attention, and I am able to get back into the house, where I borrow somebody's phone and call for animal control to come and get it.

Dobby is here for a while, and trying to protect us, but he moves far too quickly, and is eaten several times (and just pops back into existence, ready to be eaten again) until he learns to make a big, pillow-like shield around himself that the lion just bounces off of. Meanwhile, Billy Damon is here, demonstrating some magic tricks, while a piano competition-like magic convention is going on, with a kids division that is competing, as well as an adult division, and some kids that are a cross between the younger ragtime writers and the stars from the Big Bang Theory are showing off their magic acts.

I keep opening the front door, and the lion is now pretty much camping on the front porch, and I am petting his head until he purrs, and keeping him calm, while urging others to move cautiously, and not trigger his chase instincts by running, while waiting for animal control, who seem to be incredibly slow about getting out here. But finally they arrive, and after a long time of setting up their trucks, they wander around and spray the two lions with some sort of foamy spray that may remove oxygen from the area, and knocks them out, and probably eventually kills them, which kind of bothers me, because now that I've started petting one, I'm bonding to it, and just want to see it removed from the populated area.

But even though I am opposed to the killing of the animals, and just want to get them moved safely, I have grabbed a small bottle of the spray that is killing them, and am running around spraying most of the people in the house (which may be forcing us to move) and giving them a brief spray to the air just in front of their faces, to try and knock them out, yet not kill them, and take everybody out in the hopes of moving them somewhere and getting them out of the way. But of course it is still very dangerous, and some of them turn their heads or don't breathe in, and the whole thing is just a mess.
    2. Knott's Animal Park

      by , 02-24-2015 at 07:38 PM
07-20-2014 -- So I am walking down La Palma, right along side Knott's Berry Farm, when I somehow find myself climbing a fence or something to get inside. I am in something that is rather like a children's playground, inside what seems to be the beginning of a forest. Oddly, I find Steve G. here, and he seems to be in charge of the area, but he isn't satisfied with the playground, so he is the one who has been having trees moved in to try and grow a forest.

I stop to chat with him, and he is starting to talk about what he is trying to do, but I can already see the shape of things to come, and since I love the times when I get to go swinging through the trees, I'm all for his plans ... though he seems kind of surprised that I can figure it all out at a glance. I just jump up and grab a vine, and start swinging, though they haven't grown strong enough to support me for long, yet. Meanwhile, as I lose my grip or the vine collapses and I drop to the ground, I find myself in what seems to be a bit of a wild animal park.

I find I am facing Steve, who has got a tiger with him, and he expects to find me panicking, but instead I just kind of nuzzle with the huge cat, who is lightly chewing on my fingers, but not doing any harm. Steve seems to be almost considering me as an assistant or something, which I might like (love cats of all kinds, though I had not previously gotten to interact with tigers) but unfortunately he already has somebody who seems to be working with him, and is really ticked off by the possibility. If I had to guess, I would say there was a good chance it would be Scott.

So anyway, Scott goes stalking off in anger, and a few minutes later there is an explosion, and security is running around everywhere, and Steve is being called to help make sure the animals are all contained, and help security stop anyone from coming in or anything from getting out at the now blown up gate where they had the stagecoach crossing. Meanwhile, since I am not supposed to be here, and have no right to be, I am trying to get out of the way of security and almost anybody else, but am having problems with some of the animals. They don't mean any harm, but they are curious, and I have various critters climbing on me and hanging on me, while others who help care for them and trying to help me get them off me.

Soon Steve has come back, and is trying to help me get away without being seen, and we're trying to sneak out of an employee gate probably near Beach and La Palma. We have climbed up a big structure of pipes and things, and are just about to drop to the ground right by the gate when security walks into the area, and unfortunately he hears us land on this pipe thing, and looks up and spots us. Steve says to run, and goes sprinting along the pipes, but I doubt that is going to work for me, and I drop to the ground and try to hide, hoping the security guard heads after Steve, and away from me. (After all, he belongs. Away from me, he isn't likely to be in trouble.)
    3. Not Quite Sex, Mountain Driving, The Ski Lodge and the Bar

      by , 12-18-2012 at 07:15 PM
12-15-2012 -- This one started in a large house, though I'm not sure it matched up with any real life houses. I had a room set up near the front of the house, and there were lots of other rooms here, as well. Hints of some of the big BM houses from other dreams. I'm watching TV or playing games or something, but then end up walking further back into the house. I am walking down a hallway where in past dreams BM had a bedroom and bathroom. This time there is no sign of her, but there are several attractive young ladies, late teens to early 20s, who have bedrooms here.

It is the middle of the night, but for some reason most of their doors are open while they either entertain guys, or are just sleeping completely in the nude. I think several of them are girls I can remember from high school. I'm looking at one sleeping girl, and thinking about just climbing into bed with her and going at it. Suddenly it is a couple of hours later, and I did it. We had a great time, I enjoyed myself, she enjoyed herself, but it's all over, the dream skipped it, and I didn't have the chance to actually experience it. Le sigh.

Its now the next day, getting on to evening, and I am remembering this, and thinking about heading down that hall and doing it again, when some girl enters my room. She starts to pull the sheet off my bed, and says it was put on there by mistake. I allow her to remove it, because she is cute. Next thing I know, Rosemary is there, telling me I am going to be charged for the sheet. I ask what about charging the girl who took it for the sheet, but it's not important, and I don't really care.

There might have been an actual reasonable transition, but if so, I can't remember it. The next thing I am aware of, I am on a road somewhere, standing in front of a big rig which is slowly moving. It is pushing me along down the road, fairly slowly, but gently speeding up. Moment by moment I am more and more in control of the thing, kind of steering it by way of the large set of bull horns mounted on the front of the cab.

I'm slowly and carefully making my way to the side of the cab, grabbing on to the mirror both to continue to help steer, and to have a handhold from which to try and swing myself up into the cab and the regular seat. Problem is, it is getting kind of spooky as the road we're on is a very steep mountain road, very narrow, with a mountain rising up on one side, and a cliff dropping off the other. Somehow the process of moving to the side of the vehicle and trying to climb in is making the truck waiver a bit, and its kind of nerve-wracking. I half-succeed in climbing in, and half just decide to wait a little while for a safer area.

Soon I find myself inside the cab, driving along with the old guy who has taken me on as a sort of apprentice and is teaching me to drive a truck, among other things. He explains he has gotten me a sort of learners permit, so this is all legal. He also says we're coming up to a turnoff kind of area. The mountain area we're driving through seems very familiar, and there is a slight feel of caves and things, maybe a hint of Mammoth, though if so, it vanishes quickly.

Soon I've taken this turn-off, and I find myself driving through narrow streets of a small mountain town that somehow kind of reminds me of the version of Hogsmead at Universal's Islands of Adventure, though in the dream it was just a small town with narrow streets. There are lots of people running around, and my brakes aren't working too well, so I kind of end up pushing them around a little bit, almost like I was being pushed a few minutes ago. Nobody is hurt, no real harm done, but I wonder why people are so stupid as to not get out of the way.

As I finally get the truck stopped, I recognize the area I have come to. It is the ski resort area I visited with the church, back when I was a teen, the one with two rooms, one for the females on the left, one for the males on the right. Problem is, the room for the males was old and beat up, and the roof fell in, so we had to evacuate, and were forced to stay in a tent, instead. For some reason there was a shopping cart in the middle of it.

[We did take one ski trip as a youth group in our church, which formed the basis of this dream, though instead of some beat up hotel type place, in real life it was a very nice cabin that Gary Walker got us. This led to an entire category of frequent dreams about the ski trip. As I have gotten older, the dreams have become less and less frequent. The particular scene I am remembering here, of the collapsed room and being forced to stay in a tent was actually a dream from probably five to ten years ago. The second dream, relating back to the first dream that will be mentioned in a minute was probably something dreamed one to two years ago.]

For once it is summer, instead of winter when I find myself here, but I still walk into the hotel. It seems the beat up room where the guys were supposed to stay was torn down completely, and I can remember another visit a couple of years ago when I ended up talking to somebody working in the place who was a son or nephew or something of the people who had been working here when I was visiting as a teen. Turned out he wasn't, but he knew them, and had heard a tiny bit of when the room had collapsed.

Anyway, I decide to try and talk to them again on this trip, and enter the hotel. I try to talk to one person who I think might be the person I talked to last time, but he's busy and doesn't have the time to talk. The other person turns out to be the teen I talked to four or five years ago, but he is still a teen, which is why I didn't think it was him. As we're talking, some punks come in and are making fun of my hat. I am wearing a ball cap which is advertising some sort of great big bore hole in the area, and they think it is kind of dumb.

I have also asked about directions getting back to town, and they are telling me to just take the turnpike and it'll only be a few miles back to town. [Kind of odd as the ski trip was in California, as would be any mountains with the cliff-side switch-back style roads I was driving on, but the turnpike is in Florida, and I am kind of realizing the town I am in, though a mountain, is about where the turnpike merges into I-75. Very screwy geography.]

I just start to exit the building, when there is a hint of a lion laying down in a field, and I remember I sat down my gun. So I walk back into the hotel to pick up both my gun and my shovel. As I start to exit again, I hold them to my side, trying to kind of hide them. There are several large, gray elephants standing in the field, and though I try to hide my gun, they see it and kind of stampede away. I am walking down the street, approaching a closed up saloon that the guy I'm apprenticed to is looking at.

The place has a name of Morrisey's or Morrison's or something like that, and I find myself looking at a sort of tube of shot glasses that somehow look very much like shotgun shells, buried in the ground. I am pulling a couple out to look at them. The old guy is wondering what happened to the place, and why it isn't in business, anymore, and I find myself telling him a story I find myself remembering that seems like it comes from another old dream. [No idea if this one is a real dream, or just something created in this dream.]

Anyway, I am explaining how there was supposed to be a big chain of these bars throughout the area, with the original in another small town further up the mountain, but there were some funding complications and lawsuits and the like. This one was trying to get the right to open, but they could never conclude the deal, so while it was fully built, it was never opened. There was another one in another close town that opened, but was soon forced to close again.
    4. A New Runescape Freebie

      by , 09-15-2012 at 08:00 PM
09-11-2012 -- I'm at Newberry's in the Buena Park Mall, where I run into Joel K., who in telling me about this neat daily freebie in Runescape that I wasn't aware of. There is something about a weird sleep issue that might have told me I was dreaming if I was paying enough attention, and something about some kind of farming connection.

I am just finishing up an herb run, and have my pack full of herbs. Joel has warned me there is some kind of sacrifice involved, and I might lose any food I have in my backpack. I don't know if herbs might count as food or not, but I'm thinking it might be wise to stop at a bank and drop off my herbs, first. Joel suggests if I am stopping by the bank, to get some robes to use as the sacrifice instead. I don't get what he means immediately, but eventually I think the idea is cheap, disposable robes, so I don't lose anything of real value.

I think we're walking through Al Kharid, which seems to look just like Fiesta Village at Knott's. We're approaching the garage that the small Model T ride runs out of, which seems to be right behind the palace. There, Joel has a short fight (perhaps 20 seconds) with a small, chipped blade which is floating in the air. Beating it should be easy, even for me. He is gathering up some kind of small grubs or something, and storing them.

He explains this is only the first part of things, and leads me past some buildings and things until we come to a small cabin down a long road on the side of a cliff, where there is a witchdoctor waiting. He tells me this is where the second part takes place, and gives me a small carafe filled with powdered Tang. When I do this myself, I will mix the Tang with water to make a drink for the ceremony. But he tells me any kind of drink should work.

He briefly turns into Greg Jones, then disappears. I am now wandering around Disneyland/Runescape in an area that reminds me of the Big Thunder Trail between Frontierland and Fantasyland, and I spot Dale in line for a ride. I head further down the road, passing first a large wood chipper, then two or three inflatables that look like carnival rides. There is a ride that seems to be kind of a cross between a mine train and a Norwegian Viking ride, and Dale comments it is one of his favorites.

I make my way back to the hut, and now there is a guy there who seems to be dressed like one of the rangers at the Karambe Wildlife reserve in the Animal Kingdom. I think he is there collecting real blood samples or something, but it turns out he is part of the freebie. I admit this is my first time of doing the freebie, and I don't really know what I am doing yet. He doesn't get my Tang powder, and to my horror he throws it out, but just replaces it with powdered lemonade and adds water, so it's still ok.

While he is standing there, an evil witch appears behind him and beheads him with a huge lumberjack saw. I grab my weapon, and strike the saw, and manage to break it. The witch is about to attack me, but there are animals here that are defending me. I think there is a large tiger, and something huge (elephant, rhino?) is actually tearing it's way through the roof and pulling itself inside to help protect me. Unfortunately since we're in this tiny, frail cabin on a cliff, I'm afraid the beast is going to cause the whole thing to fall off the cliff.
