It might be better to ask the folks in beyond dreaming. I don't believe it at all, personally. I see dreams as a purely individualistic cognitive process not involving an astral realm or any such concept. |

I've read in a few places that if you get really good at lucid dreaming you can actually share dreams with somebody. No offense, but it's kind of hard to believe. Seems like some magical thing to me. Is it really true? Has anybody actually shared a dream? |

Some people believe it, but personally I won't believe it until I experience it myself and I'm sure we were having the exact same dream. |
|
u should ask one of the shared dreamers, like Raven Knight, WakingNomad, Mosh, or any others to help you if you want to try. honestly im not sure until i experience it myself, because it does seem impossible. but we'll see. i hope its true. |

Friends are people you care about, no matter what.
Goals: Have a shared dream[ ], Meet Saria[?], Zelda[?], and Malon[ ] from Legend of Zelda, visit Hyrule[ ], find my Dream guide[ ], visit the Star Wars galaxy[ ], do a ToTM or ToTY[ ], befriend a dragon [ ], find/create my dream world[ ], forge/find a unique sword[ ], visit Gensokyo[ ]
Yeah it would be really cool to share a dream, I just don't believe in it. I'll try to ask some of the shared dreamers. |

I really can't say for sure. I've read a few of Nomad's DJ entries, and supposedly I was in the dreams, and I can't remember them. But then again, I didn't remember ANYTHING from that night. So I guess it's your call. |

I haven't had a whole lot of lucid dreams, but if one of the shared dreamers sees this thread I'd like to know how difficult it is. |

Im sure its real. Iv had one with my flatmate adn in the morning when he told me about his dream my jaw dropped. Im sure you will experience it, just have an open mind, dont dismiss it. I know a lot of you are just gona straight up say nope its not real but just give it a go |

If lucid dreaming is a form of communication, the answer is yes. I have every reason to believe that it is. |

I do try to keep an open mind about this sort of thing, but I don't really see how it's possible. Some people will say, 'Astral plane' but they're just words to me... There seems to be an awful amount of convenient vagueness in those areas. |

If the claim is yes, then one has made the implicit claim that they involve telepathy. If they then make that claim, then they also increase exponentially that dreams are not always of human origin. --- and they then agree with ancient scripture. |

I'm not quite sure about this either, my latest LD my brother was in it and I believed we were in a shared dream and I told him we are either shared dreaming or he is part of my imagination. I asked later he didn't remember any dreams =P waste of a lucid having to hang with your brother not being able to do the stuff i wanted =P. I guess he could've forgotten idk. |

I find it kind of funny that lots of people here so quickly to dismiss the possibility of shared dreams. It's kind of like the subject of lucid dreaming, before I experienced being lucid in a dream I never thought that that was possible. I was ignorant to the experience back then. Dreaming almost seems like it should be impossible to me, yet we experience it every night, so I wouldn't be so quick to say "Nope, not possible." because what do you know about the experience? There are other people here who have had (or believe they have had) the experience and obviously have a completely different view now on what is "possible" or not. I'd rather be optimistic and say it's possible however uncommon it might be for the population. |

We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. ~ T.S. Elliot
I agree with you, Just because you haven't experienced something, it doesn't mean that it's not possible. i'm sure even what we do here on the internet every day seems quite impossible for someone back in the 1800's. If you could travel back in time and tell them we could talk to eachother no matter what the distance between us, u would be considered nuts |

Agree with this hands down. When I first started LDing, I wasn't sure if it was possible, it would have made for some crazy nights with all the possibilities, but, having no experience in it, I kept an open mind and tried to LD eventually having my first one and knowing that it does exist. I don't know if shared dreaming exists, but, if it does, I would much rather keep an open mind and end up experiencing it, then vice-versa |

Sharing dreams is entirely possible, I think. I'm a pretty crappy lucid dreamer, and I've shared dreams before. |

"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistant one."
Albert Einstein
My brother told me that once he shared a regular dream with somebody. He basically had a dream with somebody and then later he told the person about it and the guy had the exact same dream. So I guess it is possible. |

yes, you can really share dreams. so many people have had them. we use to have a large journal documenting the MANY shared reams people have had at DV. It is impossible to explain them away. for you sceptics I'd like to see you try. |
