I was not scared, I approached her, and she didn't say anything. She remained silent, and started whispering unintelligible things, when I awoke in a sweat. My cat portrayed a very strange behaviour, she was usually jumpy, more serious, and not as playful as she was in the house I lived in previous to this one. Do you think that this was actual paranormal activity? Or simply, out of fear, my mind was creating things that were not actually there?

I once read that our body goes into a catatonic state when we go into rem sleep to protect us from thrashing about. The book also stated that if you become consious during this state you will expierience imobility and optical illusions such as edge of site shadows. you can easily pass into rem state during this time and bring that natural fear with you into a dream.

As for seeing things, I can not say. But the dream, that I can talk about.

You had a dream about ghosts.

You had been thinking about ghosts much more often.

The more you focus on something, the more likely it is to transfer into your dreams.

You had a dream about ghosts because you were thinking about them so much more. Even if it was more vivid than usual, that doesn't mean it was a special dream. But... This doesn't mean it WASN'T special.

What I wonder is, did anyone else in your family see anything?

Both of my brothers were gone during this period, and I never really talked to my parents, because they spent all day watching TV in their room, and at work. From the few brief times I talked to them, they seemed usual.

Well, i wont be able to shed a lot of light, but i can maybe help a little.

This world is a crazy place, just think, well ya haha wtf is this world, and life about anyway? You have some people that think everything can be solved by science, and that we are all flesh and bones, just here to mate. Nothing more. And only in the sensate world.

You then have the people who beileve in the soul, that we all have much more then flesh and bones, and thought is just a meer word that cant live up to what goes on in our "minds". And belive in the ideological world.

Then you have.. etc. i can go all day haha.

Thing is, well science is just a way for people to get comfort, knowing that everything can be explained. And well this could be, if you believe in it. But well you are your own being, with your own mind, so if you saw a ghost, then gosh darn it you did! And if you think your dream means something, then gosh freaking darnit it does! Listen to yourself!

Ghosts. But, you don't need to be afraid of ghosts. They are spirits that are trapped on this plane for some reason. Usually it's a traumatic or sudden death. It could also be guilt that keeps them here.

The best thing you can do is to tell them to go to the light. I have helped three spirits cross over one night in an old New England cemetery while my friends were taking pictures of spirit orbs. I was actually able to draw the location of a gravestone through remote viewing of a particular ghost that I needed to help cross over. She was a young girl that had died suddenly about 150 years ago.
(On a side note, one had a digital camera, the other had an analog and both took pictures of spirit orbs.)

Ghosts are attracted to people that can see them easily, because they want to communicate.

Sometimes spirits who have crossed over come back to visit, but in this case they sound like lost souls. You can probably still help that girl cross over. If you want to talk more about it, send me a PM.

EDIT: And yeah, dude, that sounds like typical paranormal behavior. But also there exists the possibility it was all in your head. I mean, none of us can say either way, because this is purely anecdotal.

My "spiritual" beliefs are based on personal experiences. Either way, I am not sure if your statement really helps the OP. Maybe if you could provide some scientific evidence, but I don't think that would hardly be comforting.

Trying to prove or disprove the existence of ghosts is like trying to prove or disprove the existence of god, or even yourself.

For all I know, there are only two people on this forum, me and, one other person creating many aliases.

I am trying to not be amazed at how many lucid dreamers refute the existence of anything spiritual when lucid dreaming itself cannot be proven by science, but yet, I am amazed.

Well, the thing is, I think the spirits in this house might have followed me here. I see that white silhouette sometimes, or it appears for a split second in the hall as I close the door to my room from coming back from the kitchen at night. Sometimes I will hear strange noises coming from my closet, like scratching. It is usually really faint. Sometimes I will hear a whisper behind me, late at night when everyone is asleep, but nothing is there, or a strange distortion around my head in the mirror. I think this spirit might be focused on me, because I asked my brother and he says he hasn't seen anything. I am not as paranoid as I was back in the other house I lived in, but I always have this strange feeling as though something else is there. I have had this recurring dream in which I am looking down a staircase, and I see the same girl from that dream I had in my old house. She looks at me, and her face becomes all rotted and she keeps smiling at me, and then I wake up.

It definitely could have been a ghost. I know that a woman died in the house I live in now, and two housekeepers, my mom, and a visitor have all claimed to have seen an older lady walking for a split second. None of the people who said it talked with each other about it. My mom told me one day that she saw it, and than I randomly had a conversation with my housekeeper that night about ghosts and she told me what she saw and one of the other housekeepers who used to work at my house. I have never seen her, but I have felt her pressence.
And there was actually a point in my life that I could not walk into my guest bedroom(which is actually my room now) because there was a strange feeling that I just did not like, and this was before I had ever known that the old lady had passed away in the room.
The ghost in my house is friendly, and as someone else had said, its just a being who is attached to the earthly plane and can not or does not want to leave.

I wouldn't be afraid of ghosts though, I don't think they can hurt you at all...

Havent any of you guys heard of the spiritual world that lives is in co-existence with us? Its there, we just cant see it, well all of it. ugh i dont want to explain this right now haha.

Doh! What I meant to say is that dreaming cannot be proven (not lucid dreaming, different subject). We only know dreaming is real because we all have dreams. There is REM, but that is not really proof. Even someone being woken and saying, "I had this dream blah blah blah" is not really proof, because they could've made it up while they were awake.

Of course, since we all have dreams, it's an accepted fact by the majority. I have met people that say they don't believe in dreams because they have none. Obviously extremely silopsism.

Personally, I believe it's your mind playing tricks on you.

It's one of those cases when you spend 10 years in your house when suddenly someone tells you that it's haunted. The next few days are hell, because you think you are being watched and start to "see" strange stuff. The mind can trick you into believing stuff VERY easily.

If you saw the "ghosts" in the courner of your eyes, I can tell you that there is a 90% chance that it was just your imagination.

Although I believe in spirits and the soul, I don't believe they would be in this "realm". I think those "solid" cases of ghosts are actually made by humans through the power of thought.

But no one even told me the house was haunted. I assumed it was a normal house, and I didn't even believe in ghosts at the time.

My intention was not to provide comfort. It helps the OP by answering his question. Likewise, I didn't notice any scientific evidence provided in your posts.

Yeah. That happens. Sometimes ghosts that are at a certain place will follow you, because they know that you see them, and they want help crossing to the other side.

I think the easiest way to help her, is to wait for night, then close your eyes, and ask to see her in your mind. When you do, tell her to go to the light. (Do not say, "You are dead," because that may upset her.)

When I saw the girl I helped, she was playing in a yard with a doll, and she called me Uncle something. I pushed her on a swing. I told her, "I am going to push you really high, then I want you to fly off the swing into the light, okay?"

She said, "Okay!"

Then she flew up off the swing into the light. She turned and smiled at me, and waved goodbye before she disappeared.

You just follow your intuition.

Ok, wait. Rereading your posts you said spirits. So, tell me about the others.

I say spirits because it might be one or more, I am not sure. But it seems to take many different forms. The white silhouette is always the same size, but a different shape each time, and other times it is just some sparkles.
