Thread: Separating from the physical body - help!

Ok guys need some help (dont we all!)

I can lucid dream fairly regularly when I can be bothered, used to do a lot of the energy exercises in Robert Bruce's books etc but not so much anymore, I know I have a natural talent because this sort of thing runs in the family, but I CAN NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME GET MY ETHERIC BODY TO SEPARATE FROM MY PHYSICAL BODY. And it's really starting to piss me off!

I've read most of the tutorials on here, doesnt seem to work, anyone have a really strict regime to try for a few days? I'm off work for 3 weeks because I'm going overseas so I have plenty of time.

Any thoughts?

I'm no OBE expert, and when I did manage to do it, I had to conclude that I was dreaming. I use "OBE" primarily for jump starting dreams from the hypnagogic state, or sometime right from being awake.

At time, when I lay in bed on the edge of sleep, I can feel phantom arms and legs while still being aware of my physical body. I can even move those phantom limbs around, but find it very difficult to dislodge my torso and head from my physical body. From this point, I start swinging my imaginary arms, gaining momentum until I'm able to rip free of my body.

Rolling out of your body can work too. Another one I haven't been too successful with is imagining a rope on your ceiling, and pulling yourself upwards out of your body, but I prefer the rolling or jerking my dream body free.

I can feel my body parts and move them about outside of my physical body, but its far from separated, just feels to exist in my mind, basically just doing Bruce's spirit hands exercise and that sort of thing.

The actual separation of consciousness never happens, and I dont feel myself properly separating from my physical body, is there a certain feeling that is associated with it?

Every time I lucid, it's usually from a Wake state and I have to seperate my dream body from my physical one... The best way to describe this feelings is a "shift". I can't really explain it, there is just a differnt awareness that comes over you...

Once I feel this "shift", I jump up and immedietly know I'm dreaming (although RCing is recommended)

Sometimes it is harder and I will feel the phantom arms, or I will do some weird involuntary movements i.e. tumbling off bed, somersaulting around the covers

Feel for the shift then jump up

I think you should keep reading and trying different methods. I havn't had one yet but in time with enough effort Im pretty confident I will be able to. Different things work for different people and your bound to find what works for you eventually.

Just have faith and it should happen on its own time

Yeah Ive been trying all sorts of different methods Ive heard of and nothing working so far. Oh well..
