      Simple as we age.

      1. We are less able to learn(I'm sure many scientists can back this up, just like learning foreign languages is easier at a young age.)

      2. We are introduced to "reality" also known as how our world is viewed by everyone at this point in time. If you taught someone their entire life something untrue, they would believe it.

This world generally hasn't looked at mystical, psychic powers very well, including burning people alive for such things during the middle ages and after... Do you remember being a kid being carefree and willing to believe anything is possible and constantly being told no that's impossible?

Am I the only one who can see what is going on? The "secret" has long been hidden from the general population, while the "in" have known about it forever. At points in time people were locked up in jail as "Crazies" for believing in stuff like this. Society has officially shunned such behavior. Why? If it's all fake why worry? Mental asylums were full of some nuts and people "convinced" or just categorized as crazy. Notice asylums today are not nearly as full as they were during their heyday.

I certainly believe that we have all sorts of untapped natural abilities within our DNA. I also think it's only a matter of time (though maybe a very long time) before such abilities are commonplace. Our brains however are really dampened. Our brain's processing capability is directly proportional to the amount of oxygen reaching the brain. That's why you can get a "high" from breathing 100% oxygen. In ancient times people used to trepan their skulls to allow the Gods to enter- aka, allow oxygen to reach the surface of the brain directly, thus accelerating the processing power- and its said that these people had telekinetic abilities and such. Chances are though that most people don't want holes in their head, and our lungs can only take in so much oxygen, even if it is 100% pure. So while I'm very sure that our imagination is the only limit to our abilities, we have to overcome our clumsy physicality and neurons before we can really explore the possibilties.
I'm pretty sure pure oxygen would kill us if breathed in for too long. That's what I learned in biology, anyway.

And holes in your head? Sounds painful. Not saying it's not true (I really have no idea), but wouldn't that leave your delicate brain exposed to the elements & bacteria/infection?
      Interesting concept, though.

@DeathCell - There are other reasons why asylums aren't as full as they used to be, but one is because they used to put autistic and mentally retarded people in there. They didn't understand those conditions yet, so they just threw them in with every other social deviant.

One thing I've often wondered is why animals seem to have a sixth sense while we, their intellectual superiors, do not. Did we evolve to the point where we don't need it? (Although it would still be pretty useful.) Or maybe it's an instinct like fight-or-flight. Could it also be because nobody is going to tell a dog that it can't sense ghosts?

I hate being told what I can or cannot do. If I want to fly, let me learn for myself that I can't. We tell kids that Santa is real, but we can't (or don't) even suggest the endless possibilities of the mind? I'm 18, but I am forever a kid at heart. I don't believe in unicorns, but I keep my mind open to possibilities. I believe that psionics are possible (never had much success with it), and from my own experience I believe in astral projection. When it's happening, I know with my entire being that it's real. It's only when I awake and reality comes back that I start to question it. Even if APing isn't real, it still makes for some wicked awesome LDs. :]

It's because their sixth sense is never kept down by society, exactly.

I can sense things, I've known things before they happen.. It is possible.

Except in the eyes of certain people, too bad they're wrong..

The funniest thing with a post like that you're probably about 14.
This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

I used to be able to teleport things, when i was little i woud put a ball in 1 of the 5 ancient cups we had (i learned this from my cousin). I woud put it in the 1st one and say somthing (i dont know what it was that i said) after that i looked in the 1st one and it was gone i woud look in the other 4 and in 1 of them it woud be.

Also i used to walk around in the house when i was little while my spirit was half out my body i thought this was normal but as i asked people they said it was impossible.

      Wink

      Check out website: www.2012evolution.com

It has some really interesting info on there, as far as our mind power, and reprogramming our brains to a new way of working...activating other strands of dna that are inactive...

...the world is changing, and so are we, all the time, all the time
