      Sharing Dreams? Possibility?

Hey, I am not one that really believes in mystical stuff, OBE's, telepethy, etc. But I was curious, is it possible to share dreams? I am hoping more for a descussion than a direct answer.

What I mean by sharing dreams is, would you be able to enter somone else's dream, or effect it in ANY way possible? I have heard of people doing this, I mostly think it is fake and that they make it up, but you can never be too sure. Not to mention that this would be an amazing feat, and something worth experamenting with.

What are your guy's thoughts on this? And if anyone here thinks they have had a shared dream, please speak up and tell us the story!

EDIT: Sorry if something like this exists, I didn't really see a topic about it though.

This should be in Beyond Dreaming forum. No, I do not believe shared dreams are possible. Can you effect someone else's dreams? Yes, in many ways such as talking to them while they are sleeping.

impossible, you would have to be a nutcase deep thinker to believe a dream can be shared. what makes you think that 2 minds can merge into each other and share a dream? Its crazy, you have to be a madman deep thinker to believe that. its all mistic and spiritual when you say two minds have become one and all that crap. Stick with common sense.

who says the minds have to become one?
i believe that shared dreams are possible, as is the same with APs. I think that we all share the same dream plane, and most people are unaware of it being a dream. Oh, and because i think its possible, does that make me a nutcase madman deep thinker?

In all my years here on Dream Views and as a long time lucid dreamer, I've never heard of a documented and verified case where shared dreaming occured.

There have been several experiments conducted here at DV over the years in an attempt to have a shared LD, but alas.... no luck.

I would like VERY much to believe that shared dreaming is possible, but I cannot.

are we not sharing a dream already, how am i posting a reply to you?

so what the original poster is asking is, can we share a dream within a dream with someone else, which is why it seems impossible i guess, i think its very possible, just much more subtle skill

this may be a little different from shared dreaming, but i have had a few cases where someone else's thoughts were shown to me inside my dream, whether we were sharing a dream im not sure, but i am sure that the person conveyed their thoughts into my dream, so this is a little similar

Maybe not on DV but there was a case which I heard about where it has happened, but the only way to actually do this is for you and that person to do an OBE.

I am more and more sure that we share dreams, but we also have dreams where we are alone with our own imagination... There really is no limit but the one one choose..

I think it is possible but on the other hand I think people make it up most of the time.

Placebo, longtime mod, told me once about a shared dream he had with his wife. It definitely shocked me to hear it from someone I trusted.

I've always thought shared dreaming was coincidence. Now I think it might be possible. Or, it could be a form of becoming so close to someone that your dreams are very similar. Which, I guess, is a form of coincidence.

We know so little about it, speculations shouldn't be shot down.

I have never had a shared dream, but it is something that intrigues me greatly.
That would be so cool to meet up with someone in the Dreaming.

Well i've been reading this book called sould flight by Donald Tyson , and he says that "we are all connected by one universal mind" and if thats true then i wouldn't dobut that dream sharing doesn't exist.

      Hey
I agree with some of the quantum/theoretical physics view about dreams. most of the up-and-coming theories about physics and the universe point to infinitie parallel universes that exist in an absurdly small 11th dimension... (Google M-Theory)
But yea I believe that in our dreams, our minds/astral bodies are able to float between parallel universes, which are infinite. Finding someone in an infinite amount of space like this, while not understanding how to navigate it is ridiculously unlikely but entirely possible!

Its our job to share with eachother our ideas on how to navigate the dreamworld, this is the science of the future! The biggest untapped and underresearched realm in science! This dreamworld is there... its complexity and significance are undeniable. We are the pioneers!

why would you want to? its not like theres any thing more ingesting in dreams than in the non-physical matter reality. dream sharing being such a specialized skill with little interest its not very liekly for people to do often.

No, I don't think it does happen often. And that's probably a good thing, at least for me... I don't have any idea how it happens or how anyone can make it happen, but I do believe it's possible.
