Lucid Dreaming connected to Astral Projection

      Hi all,

Okay so the past few months I've been really heavy into researching Astral projection with little success although I use to be able to AP very easly as a child and teenager the past few years the skill has left me I've learned this is pretty common actually. I read on a few boards that some people find that by becoming a strong lucid dreamer helps them break into Projecting anyone have any info on this? I use to lucid dream alot too can't seem to really do it anymore although i can remember my dreams fairly easy still. The past few times i've tried to wake up in my dream I do for a split second then I wake up in real life, any suggestions on how to stop this from happening and stay in the dream?

Also I was wondering if anyone has any info on dream walking or dream telepathy or how to give another person a dream you create? There is little info on the net on it and I have my own theories on how its done and how its connected to the astral plane.

I posted this in the newbie section and was told to post it here for more replies thanks.

First of all Welcome to the Forum ShadowyEmbrace...Cool name..

Well there is a certain kinda of link associated with lucid dreams and AP's and a even thinner line when you apply WILD's to it all. It seems you are trying to create the Astral escense from the Lucid dream. The effect of that happening is done in one way that I know of because it has happened to me. If you wake up prematurely from a dream but you wake up while in sleep paraylsis, you can utilize this as a way to project. I was never aware of it being done directly from the Lucid Dream. Only when you come out of the lucid dream and you exprience sleep paralysis. Best thing to do is just check out the Beyond Dreaming Threads and see what you come up with.

Ummm. Dream Telepathy. You're gonna have to talk to Switch about that. She has the ability of Dream Manipulation. Thats if you are referring to someone actually creating a dream for you through his/her mental capabilities and you play that actaul dream out while you are sleeping. She's in another country now and I don't know why she hasn't logged on in weeks, but I'll pass it all on to her. I hoped that helped good luck!

something pretty scary happened to me the night before last, and I've felt drained ever since.
i found this website by accident - but i love scanning the threads and posts, so now I've decided to post. i have always been fascinated by dreaming. it felt like i could escape to me own little world. i did 'lucid dreaming' a couple of times by accident, and once when i was having a run on nightmares and my dad told me that i could 'control' them.
well, as i've grown, my lucid experiences have dwindled.
the night before last a few freaky things happened (i will elaborate if anyone replies to this post). the scariest one was where i was lying upright in bed, fully awake, and i remember thinking "oh my god, there's a burgler downstairs". suddenly i felt as if something had a hold on my legs, and i was dragged off the bed. i kept waiting for my back to smack into the floor, but it never did, and then i was being pulled along the floor, looking up at the ceiling, and i kept expecting to hit things, but i just passed through them. then i tried to move my arms and i was back in bed. i think it may have been some type of obe (i've been using different techniques to make astral travelling easier). it was too vivid to be a dream.
i suppose i always assumed that if i left my body it would be through the ceiling. what does this mean?

In my opinion, (Its my opinion please dont flame me for thinking i'm stating facts here... ) the connection between Lucid dreaming and Astral Projection is that Astral Projection IS LUCID DREAMING.

Think about it, Lucid dreaming is not widely known, actually before LaBerge minimal interest and information. So people didnt know what it was and thought it was real, or another realm, or whatever they didnt realise it was your mind recreating it all. If you look at the ways to induce OBE's and AP you'll notice that they are about 100% similair to a WILD. I did a WILD this morning and I experienced all the things, vibrations etc and then I floated out of my body. Pretty exciting. Then, I looked around in my room and it looked very real, but I had controll... (Because I dont believe in OBE's i was able to excersize this controll, if I had believed in OBE's I think I wouldnt be able to because it was so imprinted on me by all the sites, all the signs where correct, and I believe in it, so I dont have controll because I believe and expect it) I flew my computer around with my mind, I flew into another room, then outside, (which now looked like sunny American suburbs ive seen from TV instead of my town) and woke up... short WILD. No OBE, or AP. Just an LD.

nice to see an opinion CT

my opinion is that there is a fine difference between the two..and one must experience both ap and ld to understand the difference.....it could be easy for us amateurs to get the two mixed up

dream and projection......one leaves one doesnt
one is created one is felt
thats what i think..no time to elaborate sorry

I've explored various techniques and traditions for LD, AP, OBE also various creative visualisation methods, journeying, past life regression, self hypnosis ete. etc. with and without sacred herbs. I've also read widely and perusued some ap/obe fora as well. After all this I'm still looking for answers. On the whole, like CT and shadownightwing I think that they are all closely related, if not the same thing. The people who disagree most strongly seem to be those who have only experineced one tradition. The difference, to me, seems to be one of intention and mind-set. It is possible to leave your body in a LD - I frequently do this, and enter other people's bodies or just stay dissembodied/ 3rd person. The quality of these, and other LD dreams can be the same as an AP experience, eg meeting beings who feel qualitatively diferent to normal dream characters in that they seem to have 'hacked-in'. I have never seen a silver cord except when I've set out to AP and then of course I've strongly influenced my experience by adopting an AP belief structure. I just don't know though, at the end of the day I agree with xisdence that there may still be a subtle but fundamental difference... I dont feel experienced enough to say.

I've had one OOBE, and it was all because of a lucid dream. Just wake up your mind from a lucid dream (it can't really be explained, just gotta will your mind up ), and you'll be in a total relaxed and concentrated state. thats the hardest part, after that, vibrations will start, and you may feel body parts moving up. don't get scared.
