Thread: Vibration ?

Alright well i have been into lucid dreaming for almost 2 years now but still many things are unknown to me about the topic. I would say that i have had close to 50 Lds in this time period, many including SP.

My question is the is the scientific explaination for the vibrations some of us feel while in SP? Is there one?

If there isnt, could it possible be that while we are caught in SP it is the transition phase of two different wave lengths our souls travel on? And the vibrations just being a side effect of that?

I have two theories; one scientific, one spiritual;

Scientific: To me the vibrations feel something like fever chills, which are due to actions of the hypothalamus; when you have the flu, say, toxins make the hypothalamus believe that the body temp is falling, so it stimulates chills and shivering to raise the body temp, which causes a fever. I think that when we enter REM sleep, the same mechanism is activated.

Spiritual: Entering REM sleep and dreams is like our formless consciousness becoming incarnated in form. Dreamless sleep is like being formless. The flow from the formless state to the form state is called Chi, and it is like a river of energy flowing from the unmanifested to the manifested. The vibrations may be how we experience that flow consciously. It's turbulent, and it roars in our ears like a raging river. At least, that's how I experience it. It's the sound of being born, or reborn.

I have a scientific theory:

You muscles stopped working, and to fully relax so that they can rest they need to burn off a minute amount of energy that is stored in the cells. They shake to accomplish this.

Or... we aren't vibrating at all, the muscles are relaxing by shocking the nerves and it only feels like it. The cells have extra potassium and calcium in them so that it can send messages when it needs to, during sleep they don't need to so it balances itself out.

Or... both.
