Its totally normal and happens to everyone that isn't blind. |

.
Only time when you've got a problem is when you see shadows move that aren't supose to be there out of the corner of your eye |
|
Err... What should I do then? I could sit here on this computer, and out of the corner of my eye I see this gnarly, friggen' werewolf thing crawling towards my door. I look over and nothing is there. Nothing. Could you PM me with advice or somethin'? Just as not to thread jack. |

Armagedeon Heaven, I totally know what you are talking about! It freaks me out too, especially the shirt hanging in the closet that looks like a person's outline in the shadows. I've just tried to get over it and stop being such a wuss lol. |

I'm glad this doesn't make me an overly-imaginative psycho =P. |

I get this too, but on a side note to this topic, people who can see auras use their peripheral vision to do so. |

Have you taken the driver's vision test or been to an eye doctor lately? Might be worth checking out. Some brain tumors can cause tunnel vision. Don't worry tho; just mentioning it to be complete. |

alright... army... |

<("<)(>")>
This happens to me all the time too!! I have A LOT of cats and i swear different items in my room turn into cats in my peripheral vision. It's so annoying. |
|
I thinks its caused by the brains ability to create stuff. How you percieve something is decided entirely by your brain. So if you can´t see something properly, like your peripheral vision, it creates something reasonable for it to be. |
|
Heh, just saw a doctor who where he was talking about seeing things out of the corner of your eye |
|
Not that often for me, somtimes i see things that arnt there in the dark out of my perifial (somone standing there) ---Edward siccorhands-- DAMNIT i shouldnt have watched that when i was 8. |
|
Oh my god I know what you mean. When I'm in the front room watching Tv, I keep seeing an "old man" in the hall, its just where all the coats are hung up. It freaked me out because I heard an old man died outside the front of my house years ago. |

You may or may not know that there is a technique for "morphing" seemingly-ordinary objects by staring at them hard until they morph. This becomes much easier if you keep yourself awake for 24 hours or more. With practice you can hang on to the "vision" and even converse with the new apparition. Using this technique, it is very common for flora to morph into humanoid shapes. It's an old shamanic technique. |

That's pretty cool, I might try that. I've always believed that the things most easily explained away by excuses like "lack of sleep", "hallucination", or "drugs" are the things that are most likely true. Like my vision of death (who was actually a sunflower in my peripheral vision), if death were going to show himself, id think him far more likely to show up in your peripheral vision in the dark after u ate some freaky mushrooms, than waltz into the office at 11am in broad daylight with a bunch of flowers, u know what i mean? |

I have peripheral vision incidents too. Sometimes, though, it's not just peripheral. Like once I was walking inside my house, and on the stairs I thought I saw a black shadow descending. It disappeared as quickly as I noticed it, so I don't know. A couple weeks ago, I was walking down my hall, and I saw a black shape floating through the foyer (we have a REALLY big house) and looked, saw it, but then it disappeared also. Recently I haven't seen anymore of those shapes and things, but there have been other instances. |

It happens to everybody I guess. I think the explanation is simple: |

Currently practicing WILD. I quote Kaniaz who said it best: "The point of WILD is to piss me off". Though, I have not given up, far from it.
This does happen to me often, but I never really thought much about it. |
|
The real test to check if something is actually there (out of the corner of your eye), or if it's just your imagination, is to observe your cat or dog. If your pet is in the same room with you when you think you see something, check to see if your pet senses anything. |
|
I like BohmaN's explanation. |
