Thread: Astral Projection?

I don't believe its real, i think its just lucid dreaming and talking to dc's or traveling to places in lucid dreams
its all the same thing.

But some people believe its real just because i don't doesn't meen its not real

I think Astral Projection, like OBEs, is complete crap. I've had experiences that other people might label OBE or Astral, and to some extent I can understand why they would see them as such, but, I think the idea of Astral and OBE is just completely stupid.

i have had both and can say with complete certainty that they are two distinct experiences, although there can definitely be a connection between the two. every time i kick into a lucid dream, which has not been that often, i can have an obe if i really try.

I have never had an experience where I've visited someone in a dream, or been visited by someone. I mean, they'd remember it the next day when I ask, wouldn't they?

However I do believe that Astral Projection exists, simply because I have a mystical nature. I don't think it's achievable through dreams though, but perhaps a haldful of people can do it at will.

At the moment you realize you've become lucid in a dream, i believe you have the ability to have an obe, at least in my experience. twice i've had obe's that started as lucid dreams. both times, rather than the usual spinning i use when trying to stay lucid, i've willed myself to leave my body. i'm sure i probably sound like a nut, but it's true. i think it's all just a matter of intent, a lot the same way that being able to become lucid has a lot to do with intent. i've only been trying to do the whole lucid dreaming thing for a short time, so i realize i don't know a whole lot yet. just my opinion

Astral and Lucid are different experiences. Only thing that makes it really related is that you can do a OBE while in a dream. OR if you fail to do a OBE you can just do a WILD. Now I haven't actually went to the astral plane yet. (I haven't tried since summer) But I have projected in the realtime plane. (Considered a low level of the astral plane but usually considered seperate planes)

A Realtime plane is where your basically invisible in the real world, because when you project you can see everything going on in the world. (Only thing its hard to move and all of that) I remember projecting I moved out of my covers and then I moved right beside my body and woke up.

Astral plane looks different and I haven't got there yet. But the whole thing about it is that each plane takes up the same space as the physical world. For example see how there is gamma rays and ultra violet rays that we can't see but still in this world. That is how astral plane is, if you could pin point where the location of your house would be in the astral plane then you could go there every time and see the same thing.

it is totally real. once you do it you will be convinced 100 percent it is.

Anyway I really wanted to have an OBE and I couldnt no matter how hard I tried. But I'm pretty good at lucid dreaming so I thought I'd try a short cut and go from a lucid dream into a OBE. But what I did was I summoned an Angel(Ariel)during a lucid dream(by calling his name and drawing a sigil)and then I basically asked him to help me have an OBE(which was very scary). Anyway after I asked him I instantly found myself spinning above my bed having my first OBE which felt so much different. I had almost no control because I couldnt hold onto anything material because I was like a spirit.. where if I was in a normal lucid dream I could hold onto whatever(to help stand up for).. Also I was floating around so easily which felt different too. So yeah that one really felt like I went from a lucid dream and straight into an OBE but with suger on top.

This doesn't sound right at all. There is a visual difference IMO but it's the OBE which is clearer and more defined visually with more saturation. It looks quite different, something like the difference between a .jpg and a .gif.

You can try this:
Buiid a shelf high above the bed.
Ask someone to write a 5 digit number on paper and put it on the shelf, where you can't see it from anywhere in the room even when standing on the bed or looking at reflections in mirrors, computer screens, pictures covered with glass etc.
Then when you OBE try to see what the number is, and try to wake yourself out of the OBE so you won't forget the number.

If you got it right, you can prove to yourself that you had an OBE and not a dream that looks like OBE.

Do you think there is more colour in an OBE? Because for me I havent found that.. I found(what I think were OBE's)to be more thiner and with less colour.. more like normal life but I could feel things more, I ended up on the back lawn which had dew on it and it just felt more real. Hazy might be the wrong word to use, everything was spinning alot because I couldnt fly or move straight where I can in normal lucid dreams. So that was the main thing I noticed. I guess I also consider them hazy because they have both been at sunrise which makes the light look different.. But basically I stand by what I've said... they just feel different and when you have been lucid dreaming and just normal dreaming for awhile you can just tell. The one I told you above was just that except I went from one to the other. I went from a lucid dream of staring at an angel with flaming blue eyes(which was very bright), to spinning above my bed within a second(which felt alot more normal). And one was definitely more colourful to me hey and alot thicker and it wasnt the OBE. And you couldnt miss the change over... it was like being picked up out of the blue and placed into the normal colour.

I hear what you're saying but I stand by what I said. Maybe your perception will change over time as you get more experienced in OBEs?

Yeah for sure if I could get better.. I seem to be hopeless at OBE's(mind you I'm not trying)so I've only had a couple(I think)and only really that one with the angel I would call my definite one. So I believe in OBE's now but I'm too lazy to really try have them again.. I dont have the will like that as much anymore in my old age. lol

I believe in OBE and Astral Projection, although I havent experienced one myself.

The above links are to what I consider a very reputable source for information on Astral Travel/OBEs. There's also a book titled "Astral Dynamics" by Robert Bruce, the founder of the site and forums that I recommend if you're serious about learning/experiencing. I tried a couple years back but never had much success. I think that some of the techniques are similar to Lucid Dreaming techniques and there's also some info on Lucid Dreams there as well.
