Could dream recall degrade the ability to project?

If in fact the most memorable events in the mind are recorded by the mind, then if you actively tried to improve dream recall WHILE trying to OOBE, wouldn't your memories of OOBEs degrade? Your dream-mind would over-write these memories of the OOBE.

For now, I'd much rather focus on OOBEs.

I am no expert but I would think it can only help. How can you remeber the oobe after all if you don't remeber the dream?

Well, it possibly might not matter because you're still concious in the body which is asleep, so you can't dream. Just conjecture.

Best thing is if you wake up straight after the oobe and not go into a dream. I think that should be your goal.

MHO.. dream recall (or anything that exercises the brain for better memory) can only help you with anything you are trying to achieve.

Dream recall would enhance OOBE.... and how can anyone go back to sleep if they had a successful OBE anyway (LOL)????? I've never had an OBE but am very interested in learning more about it and if I did have such an experience I know I won't be sleeping for a while.

I don't know what to think about obe's, If I had one it would probably scare me to much to go back to sleep.But if you do go back to sleep, why don't you right it down in your obe journal before hitting the sack.

I think that is what he was talking about. Having an oobe then going into a dream. I don't know much about it but I heard oobe can have in the sleep state before rem where dreams are, so I would think you can go into a dream straight after.

Having an OOBE and going straight to sleep is a bad idea. While an OOBE might seem fresh and clear in your mind, by the time you've had a dream full of weird and wonderful things, you will of forgot everything you did in the OOBE.

I based my theory off of Robert Bruce's theory of overwriting memory sets from "Astral Dynamics".

I speak out of experience and some theory.

Because of "mind linking", you will forget OOBE's, espcially if something complicated is near them, like a dream.

What are Out Of body Experiences like, are u conscious or dreaming?
What is the point of them, can u do anything better than in LD's...whats the difference between them?

OBE's are infinitely better than lucid dreams in ways that seem longer lasting.

The total impact of a lucid dream is quite incredible, however once you've gotten over the feeling after you've woken up of "wow, I can be awake inside my dream state", by comparison, the emotional and mental effects of being fully aware and alert in your non-physical body (in an OBE) which gives you instant access to unlimited knowledge of who and what you are, and where you came from - Truth that no-one can argue, well the effects will alter you, to say the least.

Lucid dreams by comparison offer a creative/synthetic universe which can be fun/teaching but possibly much less expansive.

Ask in an OBE to experience your true self and get an immortal memory of an experience imprinted firmly in your soul - the real question is: do you want to be changed?

Read William Buhlman's first book. It's excellent.
