      Please convince me

I am working on attaining a higher level of lucidity and I will continue to work on it regardless of shared dreaming being real or not.

I am a faily logical person but I do believe in things that exist outside the realm of logic and reason (im a devout catholic, kinda comes with the territory lol). I really WANT to believe in the possibilities of shared dreaming but I just cant wrap my mind around how it could ever work. I also want to believe in this "dream world" that every1 seems to be talking about as if they were all going to the same place when they dream and could meet up there by chance.

I am skeptical but I'm not posting here to argue. I'm asking for the more experienced lucid dreamers out there, and those of you who believe and claim to have experienced shared dreaming to explain it all to me. Please dont hold anything back, go into as much detail as you wish. I have an open mind about the whole thing and I'm actually hoping someone out there will say something that will convince me it is all real, because I sooo want it to be. I promise I will not argue, I may sound like it at times but all I want to do is ask questions in hopes that someone will answer me in a way that will end my doubt.

There is just as little proof that god is real, as there is that shared dreaming is real, so why you are skeptical, is very weird. But, anyways, here i go. BTW, this is all based on MY experiences.

I belive we are in the same, what should i call it... plain of existence when we dream. Then you may be asking, then why dont i get visits from SD'ers all the time?. Well, it works kinda like a castle. If you choose to let your gates be open, people will come in. But if you keep them shut, they will stay out. What i mean is, you have to let people get in before they can get in, but once you open your "gates" you are open to visits from everything, so be cautious. And of course, if you don't want anyone to enter, no one will, so your little dream world is safe. Of course, opening your "gates" takes some practice.

This is the basics of SD'ing, according to my experiences. Shared dreaming is a big topic, so i wont cover everything in here. Just ask the questions you have, and i will answer them.

Well to address ur first statement... I understand how my belief in god and non belief in SD is a bit odd, but its call "faith" for a reason. I believe in god not because of something i saw or read of was told, I believe in god because its somethin i FEEL in my heart. If there was proof of god then it wouldnt be called faith, it would be called fact.

Like I said, I am open to the possibility of SD, and what you said was actually very helpful. I guess the only way for me to find out for myself is to attain a higher level of lucidity then attempt SD for myself. As i said, I hope its real

I am curious if there has every been any kind of study to prove SD is real. As with my belief in god, I will not condemn the idea of SD if there is no proof, im just wondering if there is any. The only way I can think it could be proven is if 2 people were kept seperate, 2 seperate rooms, no form of any communication, then given some kind of information (numbers words ect.) then they would attempt to SD and meed up in the dream world and exchange info. Then when they wake if they had the other persons secret info then that would prove they had some sort of contact in their dream.

Again, I'm not saying I need such proof, just wondering if its been done.

Just thought I would say, if you are trying to be convinced, there is an huge chance you will be having comfirmation bias, so be careful with that when experimenting.

I have not heard of any research on SD'ing, but someone may have done some research, do some googling and you can find out.

Ya I know that my own wishes can make me a little bias but I think I can weigh the information I recieve along with my own feelings fairly. Thanks though
