Thread: Died in my dream... and came back

My sister died in her dream once. Me, her and one of our friends were all being chased by a murderer. She was killed and came back as me. She then got killed as me and came back as one of our friends. She was then killed again and woke up a few seconds later. It really freaked her out because she said that it felt like she was dead and there were all these lights and flashes around her. Im not sure what it means but she was a bit freaked out by it.

Your dream is very close to mine.. I once dreamed I was sitting on a couch and this man came up to me and but a 45.cal pistol inches away from my face and pulled the trigger. I am not sure if your supposed to feel pain in your sleep but i felt that bullet, i felt the fire from the blast.. i felt horrific pain as i fell to the ground and saw the blood from my head spill out all over.. I woke even with a headache..

How do I explain this.. well the only thing i can come up with is that even while you dream sometimes you think that everything is real. Back in the tutorial section it talks about knowing whether or not your dreaming or if your awake and how sometimes your dreams seem real at the moment...sorta like a false reality.. so as you dream your body reacts to the events that are being played out around you. Your body and mind try to put together all the information it has on what it "thinks" being killed feels like. Since you have never expierienced death this is the closest thing you could imagine it being like...
Now if this has some sort of meaning to it.. i would not think so.. I don't think all dreams have hidden meanings but just random movies being played out in our minds. Scientist say that dreams is the minds way of putting together and sorting images that are kept in our memories.. and this is how it plays out.. sorta like a movie.. But this is the thought I follow on these types of dreams...

Well, that has happened to many times. Mostly, I usually commit suicide, or maybe one of my relatives dies mysteriously (luckily, I am usually too smart for that, & remain Lucid anyways).
But there was that one time, when I least suspected a thing (b/c I knew nothing about connecting sashes & that stuff, & how if a sash disconnected, that was the end of that dreamer [death in reality]). This was about 2 years ago So one night, I got up out of bed, & thinking this was an excellent opportunity for a little ...? date w/my boyfriend (and b4 anyone asks, yes he could do that, but no one else knew)... so I pick him up, & ask him to go around the world w/me. We do so for a while, & note that his sash was clipped & tied (too bad I knew nothing about that). Then all of a sudden, there was a mist, & he disappeared. I was crying, & went back to bed, completely confused.
I found out later that he was buried at the SL Cemetery .
I miss him so much.........
Now I will be w/o a true boyfriend for the rest of my life....

I have never connected with anyone that i know personally in a dream before. I have always imagined it would be interesting to control someone else's dream but not sure its possible. I have tried all kinds of expierements dealing with dreams.. lately I would listen to certain songs before drifting off to sleep, ( i find that the band "HIM" is a good band to listen to before sleeping ) to see how it alters my dreams and it really does some strange things.

I think we all dream about death because its such apart of our lives. We know its an inevitable part of life for us all and we hear about it so much. If you have anymore of these type dreams though let me know about them, sounds interesting. You seem to have alot of control in your dreams and thats something I am still trying to learn.

About 8 years ago I dreamed my own death, only I never came back to life. The world was under the attack of aliens and I was hiding in my house with the rest of my family. Suddenly the room changed in appearance, and there was a trial being held with the jury only. I was standing in front of them, and after they executed me, I looked over my shoulder and there was this woman coming at me with a steak knife. She slit my throat, and I swear I could feel the pain and I wasn't able to breathe. I could hear my mom crying, and then everything went pitch black. I woke up and was scared to death of everything around me. Quite a traumatic experience for an 8 year old. I never really felt that I had any "closure" to that dream though, since I never came back to life or saw myself alive.
