Shortly before the dream that profoundly changed my life I heard a voice as clear as if he was beside me speaking into me ear. " These are the revelations....". I sat up in bed and looked around for the source of the voice to finish his sentence. I am alone except for my sleeping child laying next to me after a mid morning nap. |

You are not your thoughts...
I had been interested in spiritual learnings before this dream but I have to say I was at the beginning stages of truly asking questions and receiving insights. My fierce died in a car accident when I was 23. This is when my world collapsed and I realized for the first time that nothing was truly what I thought it was. I broke out of my box quit collage ( I was only doing that for my parents anyway), and decided to travel and get away from all the memories. No one was going to step in my way. Most people didn't know what to say to me. Not many could relate. The worst that could happen had already happen. So I left with $800 in my pocket and a one way ticket to St. Croix. I loved it! With Joshes death my fears of life disappeared. When I was 33 I had my first daughter. My travels had brought me to Costa Rica. Living my dream life that I never knew was possible I had my first spontaneous LD when my daughter was 3 months. A friend who sold banana bread on the beach in Dominical had told me of Carlos Castinada and the ability one can have to be aware in the dream state. That night I had my first LD. This is when I realized that reality it within me! That nothing our senses touch are solid. This helped me to understand that God is within. I no longer had to believe what was told to me, truths would be shown. I was doing a few group meditations and I was learning Reiki. What was really doing was learning to trust myself. I realized a I had a strong aversion to religious terminology. A few nights before the dream I was laying with my daughter outing her down for a mid morning nap and I felt myself just wanting her to go to sleep so I could go do other things. Then I saw my self from a higher perspective. I had been practicing a sort of perspective shifting meditation. Where I would use my dream consciousness to see the life situation from a different perspective. I would be a bird flying through the sky, a dog walking past me on the street. I have another post on here called " Clear light perspective" that explains hat in further detail. The course in miracles came to me after the light dream on a visit to the states when my oldest daughter was about 3 years old. I went to Barnes and Noble and it was on the sale rack. I picked it up and turned to the bookmarked page "The dreamer of the dream". It was as if I was reading a letter that I wrote to myself a long time ago. It just so happen that was Easter weekend and I started the lessons when I brought it home. Later I found that The Course in Miracles was of Jesus. |

Yet again, wow! You have a very interesting lifestory. You clearly had a rough time in your earlier years, but Im glad to hear that life turned out to be so much better for you now. It is such a paradox that in one's greatest loss, lies the potential for one's greates gifts.. It often seem to be that way I guess. |

It's great to see you back here at DV and posting Lidybug! Your Clear Light thread is what introduced me to you and helped me to think more effectively from different perspectives. |

Thank you fogelbise! Thank you for letting me know it helped you it really does bring me so much joy! Much love! |

I have not looked into the white light meditation. Perspective shifting is my preferred practice. Also morning walks help me to center and stay consciously self aware. |

Please tell me about yourself and your practice. How did you come to where you are now in your journey? |

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for but, here is something I wrote up previously. I was able to LD in childhood starting at around 5-7years old until sometime in my pre-teen years after my father told me about it as a way to fight off nightmare creatures (before asking my father what age he thinks I started, I was guessing I started a little later/older) . I can remember defeating a creature and flying among other things. Over the years I got away from recalling dreams, recalling very few, much less LDing. In February 2013 I started researching how to get back into it. I think researching sleep paralysis around July 2012 after a scary SP experience (1st, and only actual, SP experience) got me back on this track by keeping LDs in the back of my mind until I started researching them 8 months later. I guess I can thank some of the faulty connections between SP and LDing, that I read about back then, for bringing me back to LDing. I also heard about an eye mask for inducing lucid dreams probably over 10 years or so before all of this but it wasn't in my budget at the time but I did start keeping a dream journal before dropping that after a few weeks. The eye mask was probably one of Laberge's previous eye masks. |

I am doing very well. I had a friend pass away the other day of a heart attack. He was 45 and had been exercising, quit smoking, and all around a very happy soul always focused on the positive. I honesty can not remember a moment that he was not smiling. It's interesting I don't see death as this horrible thing anymore. Its something we will all experience and I find it a blessing and a gift to go out on top. |

Beautiful dream and sentiments on love lidybug! I am currently at the stage of being very good about catching myself anytime I am inclined to judge someone, but I am not yet at the stage of loving "all my neighbors." I don't know for sure if that is the path that I am on or if they are part of the same path, but I am on some kind of path. |
