I'm talking to these people from a secret society I've met online, I know few people will believe this but they are in the esoteric order, they claim to be the Illuminati.
Well, the Illuminati's books are written by a guy called Mike Hockney, they are available on Amazon and they've really interested me in esoteric knowledge, anything occult or spiritual.
So basically, I'm trying to figure out what it is by what they mean gnosis, enlightenment and the philosophers stone actually is, I'm not sure if they are different things or something that has multiple words for the same definition.
I was talking to this guy online and he said that if you take for example these types of drugs called psychedelics, what they do is they give you an alteration in consciousness, I'm not sure exactly what he said but I can remember it was something like instead of becoming focused on one singular point, your consciousness expands to other things, what people mean by god is that god is within all, it's like a universal mind, I've heard this in spirituality, they talk about a universal mind, but you don't feel it because your not conscious of it.
Another person said that gnosis is when god and man are one you have knowledge (that's what gnosis means in greek) of the spiritual truth, you've become one with god - god is a metaphor for a universal consciousness and exists within all. Has anyone ever felt this? Becoming conscious of something else?
I don't know what Nicholas Flamel meant when he said he became immortal, I think it's the immortality of the mind, those people here that have had out of body experiences will realize mind is not the same as the brain, the two are seperate, mind isn't physical. Well, I've also been reading between the lines about the Illuminati and I actually kind of think they've been around for a long time, they pop up in history now and then, they may have some sort of spiritual knowledge allowing them to do this, they originate in Italy and reappear in Bavaria more than a thousand years later. Nicholas Flamel like the Illuminati had interests in hermeticism, it all connects. What is the philosophers stone? People think it's not something physical but something else - mental. They use the metaphor of turning base metal into gold, I'm also not sure of what this is.
Has anyone had a universal consciousness kind of experience?
And does anyone know if this is the philosophers stone - immortality of the mind, he claimed to have become immortal but he wasn't talking about his body, he was a student of hermeticism, it roots back to ancient egypt I think. I'm connecting the dots and it's starting to make sense.
