Thread: Supernatural Abilities/Skills

Do you mean IRL? because I've had plenty of supernatural abilities in dreams.

A few times I've had dreams where I'm a kung fu expert and I pull of all these incredible moves very well choreographed as though I've been doing it all my life, when in reality I'm not very good at kung fu at all.

I've had the same thing happen with acrobatics and also singing - being able to rap out a rhyme in real time with a perfect sounding voice.

Unfortunately these skills don't transfer over to waking life, it just happens randomly in some dreams.

I mean IRL. I am mostly looking for skills in dreams that transfer over, but supernatural things are cool too so I put that part in.

If you ask me, you yourself have the potential for supernatural abilities. If you develop you AVC skill more, you will have a pretty badass skill.
Anyways, we have a lot in common. More than you might think. I pm'ed you. I would like to know more about you.

I mean if that interests you I've gotten better at tricking/parkour/freerunning from my dreams (practice in dreams and become better IRL)... but that's not supernatural at all!
When you know about brain patterns when dreaming/awake it makes a lot of sense, since muscle memory is created inside of your brain (and not actually in your muscles).

If you develop you AVC skill more, you will have a pretty badass skill.

... What's AVC ?

AVC - Advanced Vision Control. It is a concept that allows you to control all 5 senses. The creator of the technique is so good that he can live in his own world any time he wants. There are so many possibilities. But it is not supernatural, it is just control over your senses. So while you can breathe fire on someone, it will only be in your imagination and they won't have any idea what you are doing and will probably think you are crazy.

I can see the future sometimes (small possibility [ I sometimes see the opposite result, its like quantum physics ]) and I can often see it within a small range (1 to 30 seconds?). I think I sometimes my subconscious find patterns or possibilities that can happen or something. Yeah, I don't really use it that often though

Interesting question, it is hard to answer in short, but I will try.

In your dream you can practice whatever skill or ability you do in waking life. You can improve your muscle memory(motor learning), you can try new moves, ways or whatever. However all of this should of course be repeated, tested, practiced in real life afterwards if you want to remain this skill. So you can learn something new much faster then others if you are practicing it in your dreams/lucid dreams as well.
One thing to note, some senses in your dreams do feel differently compared to waking reality, so your brain will get used to different kind of sensory corrections. However even these slightly different new sensory corrections from your dreams will help you master the ability in waking life.

You can also have a lot of thinking dreams where you are trying to solve some real life problem and use lucid dreams as one more source of new ideas.

As for the language, I never tried to learn a new language in my dreams. But once I had a dream that I was working in some Chinese laboratory and my wife woke me up, I woke up and for first 10 seconds I was talking to her in Chinese or whatever Asian language that was. And I wasn't just gabbling.

I was actually thinking about this very topic in a rather strange way. If you look on youtube, you can find videos of a man from somewhere in Asia or New Zealand or something who can channel the positive and negative charges in his body and generate electric charges. (May I also reference you to the Avatar Episode 'Bitter Work' where Iroh explains how to generate lightning in much the same way as this man.) With this he has become a renowned healer, and can deliver these shocks when he touches another human body. These can be used to harm as well as heal.

But the most amazing thing he can do, by far is channel these electric charges to the point that he can actually ignite a crumpled ball of paper.

He states that every human has this inborn ability and that it is actually no more supernatural than when an electric eel generates a charge. However it took him like 15 years of meditation to learn the ability.

If someone were 100% dedicated to learning a supernatural ability in a dream, I would say they try this. Lucid dreaming and dream meditation might lend itself to... i don't know... some 'shortcuts' to learning this ability ... who knows.

I am researching and testing similar ideas during one year so far. It should be somehow similar to practicing physical abilities.

Does his americanized name happen to be Dynamo Jack? I'm not sure if I believe in him. At first it seemed very convincing but I watched a clip of him "lighting a newspaper on fire with his energy" which sounded the alarm in my head because I have seen a video of a guy doing that with an identical process, only he explained in the end that it was, in fact, fake and how he did it. It could be a coincidence that the two clips look identical though. The only reason I actually believe in even a possibility of such things is that I think the classic skeptic belief is stupid. Not everything about reality can be explained by science. Time and time again, throughout thousands of years, people who have "proven" things through science have been wrong. I just think we don't really know how the world works entirely, so we can't rule out the supernatural. However, I would say that if such things exist a large amount of claims are completely false.

I actually know a little Chinese and if you can remember what you said I might be able to tell you whether it is Chinese or not. I know that Chinese only uses one-syllable words, although they sometimes use two words as one to create a compound word. For example, there is a word "bao" which means bag, and there is a word "shu" which means book. Shu bao means backpack. It is treated as one word although it is still two, and it will sound like two. I don't know about Korean, but Japanese uses a lot of multi-syllable words, such as tekkamaki, or nagasaki. You will never find words like this in Chinese.

My brother once had a dream where his teacher was speaking Japanese and somehow he was sure that it was real Japanese and not nonsense, but I'm not sure what to think about that.

You realize that sounds more like you made an educated guess about the next 30 seconds right? Or is this post a joke? It also takes ~80ms iirc for the information to travel from receptors from all parts of the body and into the brain and then be integrated into your model of reality, so your body is always 80ms in the future from you (some receptors don't take that long to send signals to the brain, but in order for you to feel everything "at once" your brain waits until it has everything before adding the information into your awareness). Also, way to cooly just let the fact that you incorrectly predict the future some of the time slide off like it's due to quantum mechanics or something lol.

Seriously, I can predict within the next 1 to 30 seconds I hit "Post Quick Reply". If it happens, did I just see the future?

A strange thing happened to me a few times, I would hear my celphone ringing, go get it and notice that I imagined it was ringing, no call lossed. Wait a minute and I'd get a call. Once it happened when I was with my brother, and I said when this happens they usually call me in a minute... and it happened! woot xD (unless the phone was acting up and sometimes wouldn't show when I'd loose a call ).

lololol, not that levitating something may be possible, but you should try with something that has almost no weight, or playing with the fire from a candle.

I tried to pull a Lamborghini out of the aether once; figured if I'm trying this, I might as well go big. Needless to say it didn't work...

I feel like I can influence things by asserting my will. For example if I devote enough focus and will to there being a storm on a certain day, there usually will be. Stuff like that. Now of course I have never run any kind of actual test on it and have no real evidence whatsoever, but I choose to believe it because why the fuck not.

EDIT: Maybe I will do a test to see if this actually works or if it is just me being an idiot.

Have seen and done many things. I can prove none of them. I also choose to not talk about this stuff much, for the sake of ego. I do not know how to assure you powers exist without talking about myself.

People can have fairly strong effects on weather, such as travelling to Seattle and having perfect blue skies for the whole time (sounds unlikely doesn't it?) or having the seas become unnaturally calm when going out on a tour boat.

People can open up seemingly impossible gaps in severe traffic (perhaps a driver stops traffic to let you in).

People can send out energy just before going up to the front of a busy store and be the first person let into a newly opened line.

A highly trained Kundalini master could even sometimes open holes in the clouds in the middle of a storm, or cause the wind to stop for a few seconds.

The more intense and supernatural seeming the attempt the less often the event could be repeated.

A strange effect happens when a kundalini master tries to show off. The less honest and humble the situation the less likely to have an effect.

One of these people may for instance open a hole in a sky deep with storm clouds directly above a crowd of 12 witnesses when their intent was to teach a close group of friends, but that same person would likely be unable to demonstrate anything if the intent was to gain fame.

I can not offer proof and only hope knowing that a some what reasonable anonymous DV personality claims these things are true may give you a hint of hope that the world is weirder than many think.

I think we can influence our own universe's in the same way we do in our dreams. With our will. I can't prove of course, but I have various times asked/willed for something to happen to me in a day such as bumping into someone I haven't seen in a long time, and more often than not I find myself seeing it happen. A lot of times it can also be something like, I think of a question or am pondering about something and a few days later I will see the answer or resolution even without having been focusing too much on it. I guess it's like the law of attraction where the predominant thought manifests.

Yea, there is something like that. But I think it is not will, it is Intention. I think there is a big difference between Will and Intention, especially if used to affect dream/world.

Just sounds like coincidence to me. Even really improbable things happen when given enough opportunity.
