Thread: I'v had this dream before

Hi all,

I'm new to the board but I have realized that I have had ALOT !! of dream experience. I was lucid dreaming induced by self hypnosis starting at age 15 , and going into OBE's shortly after. I have been able to travel short distances during OBE's usually getting stuck in power sources , or getting vibrations so strong when it starts that I snap back to complete wakefulness. Now I do not get them as much , and I am glad because they can be very uncomfortable. I now do not try to have any lucid dreaming since I no longer meditate or do self hypnosis. But I have started to have dreams that seem to for tell future events. It started several years ago. And when it happens I don't realize it untill the event happens for real. I just can't tell which one it is going to be , just a dream or future event. It is frustrating and this is somthing I don't understand. Why would anyone be givin information that they can't do anything with , because they don't know that it is relevant. Well I don't know what to do. My family thought I was being very strange at first when I would go into details about dreams that were not very symbolic, they just played out like everyday life, but now when they come true it makes my family nervous. I don't always tell them about a dream I have. I don't know if this sounds strange even on this board. But it is true. I want to be able to understand why I am having these dreams and maybe just more information that might be helpful also. Sorry this is so long . Any information would be great.

Hmm...as far as OBE and precognition goes, i don't really know much about it. I'm going to move this to the Beyond Dreaming forum, and leave a shadow of it here...you might get more informative responses there!

Oh, and don't worry about a post that runs two or three paragraphs... I do it all the time and I still have not been banned for it.

Predicting the future? How?

Maybe its not as much predicting the future as eventually seeing what you've dreamt...
Unless you saw planes hitting into two skyscrapers and them go down, then thats like a whole different story.

Well , thanks for the information. Nothing has seemed to stop or start these dreams and they happen randomly. I had a dream Aug 20 about an Afican American man holding his child , a little girl , and he died . He had just gotten off the phone with his mother and she was warning him to be safe, but he died and he was talking to me , he was saying things like , she ( his daughter) will always remember this. and he said he had expired , he didn't use the word Die. but I knew what he was talking about. and lastly this dream took place in Louisiana. I don't know anyone that lives there. I have only been to New Orleans once in my life years ago. I told my husband about the dream the next morning. Of course he can only listen, but I have learned to tell him the unusual dreams . So the whole next week I spent online looking for death notices of someone in New Orleans that matched that. At lest to verify that I'm not going crazy. Then we had this Hurrican on the 29th. I don't know what to think.
