Maybe levitation would still work, if we're not really levitating, but just not overlaying our impressions of the two worlds very accurately. My 'astral' experiences could conceivably fit that theory.
Another question would be how real are those other universes. Is there actually another 'you' in the other world, or is it more like an impression of something that could have happened that didn't? How about things that couldn't have happened and didn't happen, could you have a similar experience with one of those worlds?
I had an experience, not a lucid dream but a waking life experience, that seems to have been an interaction with a similar world, but it seems to me unlikely that I would have done what I did in that other world because it would have gone too much against my character. Maybe the 'me' in the other world has a similar life pattern but was born with a slightly different mix of my parents DNA or something?
How about ghosts? It seems to me like the same thing, if I sense someone floating in the air nearby who's not a part of my world, which has happened a time or two. Parallel worlds, and not really floating, but not putting their impression in quite the right place in the room somehow?
It seems to me that something big is missing from this picture, that 'parallel worlds' is the closest idea we have but its not quite right. I'm not criticizing, just fishing around for that missing piece.
