Reality Creating From Lucid Dream (pick 4 lottery)

So I checked my state lottery numbers today on the way in to work. I noticed the midday number 7380 looked very familiar. So I searched through some of my old tickets I stashed in my glove compartment box and there it was 738 on a pick three ticket I bought several days before. Yes wrong game and 1 number off but it still peaked my interest as to how I came up with 738. I looked through my dream journal and found out that I randomly said 738 several times over during a lucid dream I was having. The dream was fading and I didn't have time to look for numbers on clocks, papers, etc. so I just created them with the mantra 738 until I woke up. Approximately six days after the fact 7380 comes out on 4-12-13. Hmmmm.

^^ Over 40 for me... but I do have a stack of about 20 sets of numbers that I had in dreams, each of which I woke up either sure they would win, or worried about what would happen if I didn't play them when they came in...

Here's something I don't get about this sort of thing....The winning lottery number is not an established fact that you merely lack knowledge of. The drawing hasn't happened yet. There is no winning number yet. So the only way you can possibly win by dreaming a number, is if providence favors your winning. Why should providence favor you over any of the millions of other people who want to win? And if providence does favor you, what's the point of dreaming the numbers? Just pick any set of numbers you want and you'll win. Even if it were your own psychic power that makes the numbers match, because you're the only person who has sufficient confidence in your ability to manifest the future you want or something, dreaming about the numbers still doesn't add anything. I don't see why you can't just pick some. The whole exercise seems to me to be based on the idea that the future is somehow already locked in by physical cause and effect, but irrespective of whether we assume anything supernatural, we know its not like that.

^^ Aside from missing my bit of sarcasm, Shadowofwind, you also may be missing the true reason for "seeing" winning lottery numbers in dreams... a lapse which by a lot of measures is a good thing, by the way.

In reality, I think, this whole exercise has nothing whatsoever to do with premonition, providence, determination, or even misused psychic powers. It's got to do with one thing, and one thing only: hope.

People who dream numbers tend to be the same people who buy tickets in the first place -- day residue and all. Who are people who buy lottery tickets? Hopeful people. Whether they're gamblers, or looking for an easy retirement, or are dreamers like me, or are truly desperate, in the end they're all simply holding out hope, and are willing to pay a couple of bucks to solidify that hope. In a sense, they're buying a few hours of hope during which they can happily believe that they're millionaires -- until the drawing, at least. Dreaming up numbers would be a likely side-effect to a this sort of activity.

Of course, the real bottom line to all this is that no one ever wins big based on their dreamed numbers; certainly not in any provable, couldn't be coincidence sort of way (Like, the numbers come up on the exact day predicted in the exact order predicted, for the exact game predicted, and the prediction was documented before the drawing). Dreaming lottery numbers simply doesn't work, even after coincidences like the OP's close finish are considered. That's true for two reasons:

One; you're right, this sort of future cannot be predicted and, if it could, the lottery would long since have been cancelled due to rampant unfair predicting.

Two; I really do not believe that people are "predicting" numbers in their dreams because those numbers appeared to them from the future. No, they're dreaming them because it stretches that sweet feeling of hope just a little bit further.

It's all about hope; nothing more.

So Lightening almost struck again. Approximately 8 days ago I did some subconscious suggestion work (meditation) on the numbers "9339" For 5-7 mins. Checked the pick 4 evening drawing last night(4-21-13) and "9332" came out 7 days after I set my intention. Yes not a lucid dream or the correct number combination to yeild $5000 but atleast the game is right this time. :-) Picture of the ticket purchased and lottery results posted below. Peace.
