Can you really have a Shared Lucid Dream

Is the other person aware it is you, that they are in a dream or shared dream etc etc.

I don't think that's true at all. As long as the two people are very close and in sync with one another you can find a way into their dream and they might never even know that you were there. At least that has been my experience.

Then again the whole topic is rather shady so I guess nothing is certain only speculation.

I personally do not go for shared dreams. Psychic Un-conscious interaction on a "Fuzzy" level maybe. How come shared dreams often have individualistic 'Differences'. ie One character does something and the other has no recall of that happening. I believe it is subjective sharing on some Primative Psychic level.

i had a shared dream as a child that me and my brother still discuss (shared the dream with him) and i barely knew what it was ....... he had a reucuuring dream about a large spider (he's aracnifobic) and i had a dream that i helped him kill this spider and we woke up at the same time and KNEW that we shared it :roll: that was odd

Id love to share a dream, I actually suspected that my last dream to turn lucid was a shared dream because I knew I had not cunjured up my friend at all, she appeared and startled me and she was there as some sort of visitor, she claims to be able to share dreams, but on this occasion she doesnt remember it, so Im not so sure. My friend says she has shared dreams in the past though, once with her cousin and once with her boyfriend, both times my friend and them described the same or similar occurances in their dreams, the dream with the cousin was a conversation sat at a table on the moon, which they both remember, and the dream with her boyfriend was in a white room with an expanding ball which was going to squash him, and his girlfriend saved him by making the ball shrink and disappear, and then a table with a white flower appeared and the white flower faded to red after the ball had gone. She seems to be really selective when she comes to talking about her own dream experiences recently though.

i do not believe that you can have a shared dream. your dreams are a mixture of thoughts and memorys. i would believe it though, if someone met someone they didnt ALREADY know and then meet them in real life. that would be cool and creepy

I do not believe something of this order could or would happen unless you believed it could be.
And most things that we do not understand, we are afraid of. So I think it would be very cool. But not creepy. Just tapping into a whole realm that we could begin to explore.

Honestly, no I don't believe in shared dreaming. And if it does exist, I think it would be extremely rare, limited only to individuals with extraordinary telepathic/ESP abilities. These two "shared dreamers" would also have to be in REM sleep at the same time in order for it to work. I am not saying it cannot exist, I am simply saying I don't see any evidence for it's existence. So many studies have been done on dreams, by Celia Green, Stephen LaBerge, etc., and there is no study which confirms this supposed phenomenon. It's also a bit funny to me to see all these threads on DreamViews, with people claiming they have shared dreams. Or this individual above me (binny77) basically claiming he has it on a regular basis. Something like this would actually be easy to prove if it did exist, and it would be a potential candidate for a succesful victory at the James Randi Foundation (google "randi challenge" for more info). Here's the setup:

1.) Find two experienced shared dreamers (there are supposedly many here on DreamViews).
2.) Arrange a setting where they can't communicate with one another, and make sure they fall asleep approximately at the same time, in order to be in REM around the same time.
3.) Tell subject A, to give a certain password to subject B, once they are together lucid in the dream state.

End of story. If they are for real, they'll be able to give information to one another from the dream state. So what are the shared dreamers waiting for? James Randi will give them one million dollars if they can prove it.

I don't mean to sound arrogant, I actually believe in ESP and many other things which are "out there", so I am not a "skeptic" at all. The thing is, this shared dreaming thing annoys me very much, just because I see so many threads with people claiming they experienced it, and others claiming it's easy to experience it.

It makes me really angry. No offense intended.

Not in it for money, it's something personal. People don't step in for corporate people who wants to get money from people who experience this. FYI people like us aren't stupid.

My internets out so I am using my phone , but shared dreaming isnt that easy. I know some people do not believe and some do .i have had many myself but with the factors pointed out alot of them are true I have noticed you both have to be in rem and there does need to be some kind of connection.but I also would never do testing first off I wouldn't want people watching my every dream until I had one . Aslo it's such a magical experience I am proud to have been blessed with the ones I have had.i am not looking for it to become a documented science thing I just acknowledge the ones I have had and hope to find others that have .if you have had one you have to believe but if you haven't I can see how you would have your doubts it is rare I have found each person is different and even sd seem to vary between how someone goes.about it the main reason more people do not want to talk about it is there are some bad people out there that would love to use this I never have intruded and have always asked to make sure I was even allowed there really I can see both sides of the coin
