      Spending time with the deceased?

Hey! I've noticed that a large majority of the people on this forum are here for fun and adventure, and I make no judgement about that, but I was wondering if anyone here uses their LDs to spend time with people no longer with us on this plane? Or what about spending time with a lover or friend who is far away? I guess my real question is, how abnormal am I that flying and dragons and killing people I don't like IWL are not anywhere near the top of my list of things to do in a LD? And, just to be clear, I am on like day 4 of seriously focusing on LDs and have yet to have one. I WILL have one. Tonight would be good.

Once in a LD I asked to see my grandma. Someone showed up, but her face was changing from my grandma's in her 30's to a face of a mummy. I'm pretty sure it was not her, just a regular dream character.

you know missGnomers i am just like you , i lost my mum 4 years ago and my main reason for wanting to LD or AP is to be able to be with her , talk to her and spend time with her , flying and dragons doesnt interest me much either and i can give u based on my own experience a little advice , astral projection(AP) is a better way to meet deceased ones than LD.

Hmmmm......I tried to AP years ago after I read a book about it....after reading up on LD, I'm starting to wonder if AP isn't just another form of LDing. Either way, people are more interesting to me than places or adventures, for sure. I lost my dear Auntie 3 1/2 years ago and she hardly ever shows up in my dreams. Strangely, she did the first night I started journaling (this week, I'm only four days into this journey) and it was the first time she'd appeared in my dreams in weeks. I also am in a relationship with someone who lives thousands of miles away and I would really like to have intimate dreams about him, as well. I don't know that LDing is really the ultimate goal for me. I don't need to know that I'm dreaming or control the dream so much as inspire the peopel to show up in the dream that I want, which seems like something I can do with intention, visualizatin, and the power of suggestion. I'm just interested to see where this all goes.

I don't think it is abnormal not to be that bothered about doing the Harry Potter type stuff either, not that I have got anything against it mind you.
It is just a lot of my dreams involve my family and my immediate environment.
My Mom and Dad used to be quite strong dreamsigns for me, and at one time then it used to somehow trigger my awareness and lucidity.
