If you want any chance of controlling DMT, take it orally. So get some mimosa hostilis root, some harmaline and make the tea. Look it up online. It's much more mellow than smoking it. That's just off the hook.

Yea if I ever got a hold of any I would want to try it orally, I've heard it's a lot more relaxed and drawn out, lasting hours rather than minutes, giving more of an opportunity to control it possibly, but at least making it easier to handle.

Actually, they have; Maybe I didn't pay enough attention to what the guy was saying It might be a bit off-topic, but do you think salvia has any sort of positive after-effect on lucid dreaming? Keeping in mind it is a natural - not a chemically syntesized substance?
Again, as it seems, I have no knowledge on the subject, so correct if I'm wrong

I think it's been brought up before, you can search the forum and see if anyone's talked about it. I think from what I've read it does help make dreams more vivid and may help with lucidity. It's probably pretty subjective. I'd like to try this out sometime and see.

I always get particularly vivid dreams the night after smoking salvia, at least if I smoke it close enough to when I go to bed. One of my most vivid lucids ever happened because of it, actually. Of course, the second I managed to stabilize I woke up because my phone was vibrating.

From what I've read you'll be in real trouble if you try to control a high dose DMT trip. You should just go with the flow.

P.S. DMT in the form of Ayahuasca has been said to be more controllable. Worth Googling in my opinion.

Try to stay on topic, there are many threads already about salvia, just type it into the search bar.

You mean like different background music changed your trip? Or you changed some kind of music in your trip?

Ok so I'm posting this thread because another one of my threads was closed before I could get any responses to a question I had. I had posted info about my views on DMT but there are many other threads that I didn't know about that are similar to it so mine was closed. This won't have any information about the drug but if you are curious just search for dimethyltryptamine and read the threads already posted. This is intended for people who know what DMT is and may have done it before.

My original interest was something that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere on this site or on other sites:

Some say that dreams are caused by the DMT in our brain, so I just was wondering if any LDers have experienced a DMT trip in which they could "be lucid" and control what was going on with dream control techniques.

I intend to try this out eventually once I am better at LDing (and can find DMT) but for now I just wanted to hear if anyone's already tried it and if it's even possible.

Please limit this thread to just discussion about if DMT trips can be controlled or not and your experiences with it or views about it. There are many threads that have been started about the other various claims about DMT so you can discuss things like that on those threads. Thanks
No it cannot be controlled, only resisted or accepted. Trying to control a DMT trip would be like trying to stop a tsunami with a surf board. Honestly, you'll be lucky to even remember that you were ever a person during your experiences with DMT.

And I have to say, I question your motives. It's a teacher plant, you gain the most from it by utilizing your listening skills, not your waiting to talk to skills, if you catch my drift.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

This is obviously quite an old thread but SWIM would like everyone to know that it is very possible to control the DMT trip. SWIM reports that you must have a strong/powerful mind, realize that you are in control of your own reality, and have tried DMT multiple times already. SWIM reports that his first experiences were out of his control and felt like reality had been washed away. One night he took a mild dose, lying in his bed. Whilst laying there with his eyes moving, incapable of moving, he noticed he was focusing his energy through his third eye. Looking at the ceiling he caused it to change colors, and fade in and out. He controlled the vortex like sounds he was hearing. Melted his posters away. Made color flow through the air. Since then, he has had other controlled experiences, noting his favorite one being when he was outside in the morning far down his trail, sitting in the grass by the creek. He took a mild dose and got in to a medative like pose. Focusing energy through his mind he caused the winds to blow the trees around in the exact directions he wanted them to sway. SWIM notes that this type of controlled trip has only been possible for him on mild doses, stating that higher ones overpower him causing him to forget what the word control even means. This is SWIM's first psychedelic besides a small amount of Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds. SWIM has recently got a hold of 2 tabs of real LSD and would appreciate any suggestions on the drug.
