      I did this as a child, and still do! When I was younger I would try walking the house with my eyes closed, and my brother would always put stuff in my way
      I would hit it and be like...hmm.. i dont remember that!

      I do the same thing! I always envision a room when I'm walking around in it the dark.

      Although it doesn't "visually" help, I also close my eyes, which helps me to picture the layout of the area even better. It's ridiculous how I can walk a certain amount and then hold my hand out, expecting to touch a cardboard box or couch, then feeling it right when I expected to...
