I'd like throw in a theory about parallel dreamverses which might be based on mythlogies as well as let's say videogames. To my experience dreamworld is tied to imagination. Some parts are wild territories of absurdities where blades would look very much like mitten wearing chicken costumed lamp posts but some are more stabile and shared. How many people visited Middle Earth after LOTR movies? Did there happen any shared dreaming? Did it effect this imaginable place? I could claim that people who read LOTR-books in 60's dreamt of very different and subjectivly created Middle Earth, but after the movies got out those dreams started to share common characteristics from the movies. If it's so that waking life imagination somehow affects dreamworld on a collective level, it's should be very full of places that resemble some worlds of videogames, movies and literature. On a personal level it's very much so.
When people are wathching a theatre performance they build up a imaginative view of every thing that is presented. Illusion that is somewhat collective and somewhat subjective. Things that are left to imagination by loose propping or no propping at all are most real in a sense illusion as they are experienced to exist but they exist in imaginative realm/dream. Those things diverce also most subjectivly. What happens in imaginative realm when someone on stage takes a phonecall to let's say another city and you only see him and a phone and hear what he is saying? Audience creates a imaginative place in an imaginative other town where someone is talking to the caller. Then again if stage is seperated to two spaces which represent different locations where two people are talking through phone imagination doesn't make so subjective picture of the other because audience sees both (but the imagination creates distance between if it's suggested that they are far away from each other). These are exaples that descibe how we make imaginative worlds and something about what is the subjective and collective illusion.
If we believe stories of Nomad & friends it seems that they have collective and quite stabile yet dreamlike space in the Moon which they visit constantly. Even in stabile place there is lot of subjective dreaming and dreamenism as in the kitchen exaple of Cusp and Nomad. But it should be possible to get any place collectivly very stabile so that the memories of meeting become very unequivocal.
Shared image as focus and shared dream of the place dreamt also during waking hours is needed, but unique images of other dreamers should also work as guiding signs. Even if you manufacture them yourself they should help you remember your goal and become lucid.
Some subgoals might also be usefull to clear the path towards pyramids. They can make the journey more intresting so that enthusiasm doesn't die as you get subbreakthroughts and story goes on. They also help to map the subconscious boundaries and storylines that work against the intention. I'm refering to something like
these quests to first aquire airline tickets and later to find an airport that dream hackers did.
PS while searching for that test I found that they too
did try to find a way to a Mayan pyramid while mapping their view of the dreamworld.
