      The Living Ghost: Astral Journeys

      Astral Projection Journal

I bought a used copy of Astral Projection for Beginners. This book helped me astral project in the past. I lost my copy.

I have only had full blown OBE's a few times in my life. My goal is to be able to do this at will. By full-blown I mean everything was totally vivid, and I was totally unaware of my physical body. I get scared of being lost on the astral plane. By lost I mean getting obsessed with the astral plane, and ignoring the physical reality. I am releasing this fear on a shamanic quest to leave this body multiple times a day.

      Attempt

I lie down in bed, and focus on relaxing and meditating. I focus on strong intent. I envision being near a stream. I get distracted by some sounds. I am overwhelmed by a concentration of energy around my third eye chakra. It almost feels like a pinching... it's a funneling. I am going to do it. I am going OBE. I fall asleep.

I wake up much later, depressed. I must've had some dream that upset me. But, I remember nothing. I feel depleted.

Next attempt, I am not going try it when I am tired. Also, I am going to play some mellow music to mask other sounds.

Do you think this is a long term risk? Sometimes I think so, sometimes I think its mostly just something that would-be-gurus tell people to scare them into submission.

Sometimes I think that 'spiritual' stuff is a distraction, and that the important things in life are seeing and treating people right and cultivating common sense. At the same time, it seems I must pursue 'spiritual' questions, or I feel like I'm suffocating, as if I don't know how to care for my inner bodies and they're lacking something that they need. I think that feeling of suffocation is similar to what leads a lot of people into drugs and destructive sexual habits, and yet, I do think that its real and worth paying attention to. These deeper parts of ourselves are important, and need care, just like our flesh bodies.

I agree. I perceive all as spiritual. In Nichiren Buddhism, we teach that there are 10 worlds which are states of mind, or worlds of perception. Buddhism is also common sense, and compassion-based.

As far as obsession, obsession is obsession, and has nothing to do with the astral plane. We can become obsessed with a video game, a person, a religion, anything that we attach our ego to, and say, "This is me. This __________ is who I am."

Anyway... I am going to make my daily attempt soon after I digest my food.

I have decided to try only once a day because I think I have been wearing myself out with repeated OBE's that were forgotten.

Last night I was chillin' with K., this psychic woman I've been dating. We fell asleep on my bed with the intent to AP, but we forgot about it when we woke up.

Hey Nomad! Posting to watch this. Also, though, we'd be more than honored to have you in the DVASA program, even if unofficially. Granted, if you have had a few OBEs in your life already you can probably skim through some of the basics, but I think the energy work is useful for anyone. Plus, i find it fun.

      Hello WN,

OBE....ing multiple times a day is possible but to have the proper amount of energy you would really need to be fully dedicated to the path. This is extremely difficult to do for the average working person. I would like to recommend this forum to you if you dont know about it already. Astral Dynamics - The Front Page

There are some real serious practitioners (full kundalini awakenings etc.) here and Robert is amazing. Using the NEW techniques will help you gain energy and awareness. Let me know if you wish to start this path I may start around the same time. We can then help each other.

This is a great and honest post. You can care for your spiritual self through energy work. Dont let anyone tell you differently about your inner self. Your energy body is directly related to proper functioning to your physical body.

The Dreamviews Aeronautics and Space Administration (DVASA) is using Robert Bruce's energy work techniques as preparation for a group projection to the center of the Milky Way galaxy. If either of you are interested, we're only two weeks in, so there's plenty of time to catch up.

You'll need access to Deep Dreaming to read the thread.
I grant you permission to dream with me.

Thank you very much for the invite Nephanim. Sounds like a very interesting thread and project. I dont have access to visit DVASA to check it out. I am in grad school right now so im not sure if I have the amount of time necessary to dedicate to a project like this but I would like to know more!

I'd say it takes roughly 40-60 minutes a day, give or take. It sounds like a lot, and maybe for you it is, I dunno. But it never seems that long when I actually go to do it. As for access to Deep Dreaming, I'm not the one in charge there, but I think that if you express genuine interest and want to know what we're all about, they'll probably let you in. Just ask nicely.

      Journal entry:

I was a little sleepy, but not too much. I felt in a good state to attempt AP.

I felt sounds, and heard some wormholes whirling in front of my eyes. I felt energy in waves going through my body. I altered it. I felt like I was about to AP.

At one point, I forgot why I was doing what I was doing, I lost lucidity, then I remembered. I think it was right as I entered Alpha waves, which is state 2 of consciousness.

I woke up when a neighbor came home and yelled. This is my attempt for the day.

Listened to pure Theta binaural beats. Fell completely asleep. Woke up, remembering nothing.
