Well theres a dream Ive never forgotten because it was the weirdest dream Ive had my entire life. I was about 12 years old, and Id fallen asleep next to my Dad the night before. My father turns on the bedroom light at about 7am and Im still asleep, all of a sudden I clearly wake up, I see my father next to the sink brushing his hair, with a read sweater and jeans on, looking in the mirror, so Im awake (or so I think) when I open my mouth to talk to him, I cant, and i get very frustrated and scared, a couple of seconds later I wake up (for real this time) and very scared I see my father next to the sink, brushing his hair with his red sweater and jeans exactly like in the dream. It was one of the creepiest feelings and experiences in my life.
As Howetzer put it, it's probably sleep paralysis. Here's a list of symptoms from the wikipedia article:

Vividness
Fear
Sensing a \"presence\" (often malevolent)
Pressure/weight on body (especially the chest)
Impending sense of doom/death
Auditory hallucinations (often footsteps or indistinct voices, or pulsing noises)
Visual hallucinations such as people or shadows walking around the room
Floating sensation (sometimes associated with out-of-body experiences)
Tactile hallucinations (such as a hand touching or grabbing)
Falling sensation
Vibration
You experienced vividness and fear and (perhaps) Visual Halliucations. This is enough factors - it fufils the entire \"most common\" category - for it to be sleep paralysis. It's the most common of the lot and is a kind of cut-and-dry one. The next one however is more intresting:
Ok maybe not the creepiest theres another one and it tops it. I kept on dreaming one night that I was wrestling with an evil creature and I was beating him, it was like a never ending fight though,(however I could not feel the contact of anything at this point, it was like a story being played out on tv) ok so I guess in that dream I became Lucid, and suddenly I know im in my bed sleeping, when Im trying to get up out of bed suddenly I feel this hairy strong arms pushing me down on my chest, in the most horrible manner, I felt claws too, and I begin to yell for help but nothing comes out of my mouth, it felt like this went on for about 2 or 3 minutes, so I just stayed quiet and began praying for help in my mind, and it went away.
Once again sleep paraylsis or perhaps a false awakening in this case. This experience fufils the entire most common category and common category and half of the \"fairly common\" category (see article with categories).
If that was not something out of this world, then I dont understand where the hell that could come from, I highly doubt my mind is capable of making something up so horrible. No I did not watch anything remotely resembling that during that day or week even.
Oh, you'd be very surprised what your mind can make up.
The know-it-alls have spoken and nailed it within the first few posts.
