      An aura?

If you have ever experiacned a DC, dream character with an aura about them you will know what I am talking about, If you have not, you could speculate.

I think that it will ultimatley all depend on what you feel a DC represents. As there are many differant takes on this one.

[u]So if you reply Yes or no please elaborate. Thankyou

So does it mean anything if a dream character has an aura about them or is it all in your head?

I have seen that. It doesn't mean anything to me, b/c anyone who has immortality is said to have that, according to Crescent View! I hope I didn't have one when I went into my nieces dream territory, or that would give her a reason to call me casper (which I really hate, b/c she doesn't understand that I am in a sci-fi!) So tell her to stop it, b/c it ticks me off !

My spirit guide had a softly glowing white aura.

Oohhhh, good question! My answer: I have no idea... I've noticed that inanimate objects have auras, too, but that doesn't really mean anything. I'll ask the next DC I see in the dreaming what they think. Of course, most of the DCs I speak to and inquire about give me a strange look... like I suddenly sprouted a second head or something.

Please Nesgirl no offense intended but its just getting really old you talking about your "sci-fis" iv read at least 10 posts where you
mentioned them out of the blue.

As for the question, I dont think it means anything at all, just your mind making it up. If it did mean somthing then that would mean green cats would have to along with other stupid things from dreams.

Chances are you are right. But there is a good chance you have not felt what I did either. Otherwise you may have a differant outlook.
This was an emotional based feeling. Not a visual green cat. To me an aura is not something typically felt in dreams. Mine at least.

You know, I typically have the same problem. When I wake up I think to myself sometimes what the hell good is it trying to get a deeper meaning through DCs.
I think next time I ask a question to a DC & get strange look I am going to vent and punch them right in their/me,it's face!

Although I was talking about an aura in the context of a dream & a dream character, wich is intirely differant.
What you say does pose a good question.

An aura. Lets face it. Some people have or portray or give of more of whatever an aura is than others. Some people seem to be magnets. People say, an aura of confindence for example. Is this just a character trate that one gives off a vibe out to another. And do only some catch it?
      Can you change it?
      What is it?

First of all...Nesgirl!!! Stop saying that you are an ugly moron...you aren't ok??? And if you really think that then I suggest you seek counseling, otherwise you are just fishing for compliments or something. Really you are great so stop it already.

Ok, now back on topic. One time I met a man in my dreams...his name was Alan. This was a result of an intentional WILD that I had. He definitely had an aura...meaning he had a very strong prescence about him. He taught me alot about lucid dreaming...but I'm not sure if he is my Dream Guide or not because I haven't seen him since. Perhaps I should try to summon him. It's just hard b/c when I go lucid I'm either 1. trying to find Howetzer, 2. trying to do MARCH'S lucid task (those damn dolphins), 3. a bunch of other things...so I always forget to summon my Dream Guide, if that is what he is.

Now about what Howetzer was talking about in regards to certain people being magnets. This really intrigues me. I dated this one guy for a little while. I never ONCE got a good night sleep around him. The first time we slept (NEXT TO NOT WITH) one another was when we passed out in a friend's bed at a party. I kept having these weird hallucinations that we were actually talking to each other. I would wake up and say..."what did you say?" and He'd be like..."nothing I was asleep" but I would have SWORN that we were just having a real conversation. The next time we slept NEXT to each other I was tossing and turning all night because I was having really bizarre dreams, and AGAIN I thought we were having conversations and we were not. This is the ONLY guy I have ever experienced this with. It was really freaky. But the weirdest thing was this one time we were asleep in my bed, spooning...and I guess I was (hallucinating?) that we were talking again...and he said "what do you want me to do" and I replied, "move your hand to my stomach"....I don't know why I said that...anyway the freakish thing is that he really DID move his hand to my stomach. Like in real life!!! I swear it was like telepathy and it was really creepy. I woke up and was like, why did you just move your hand to my stomach, and he was like "um, I dunno." And he says he's heard me talk in my sleep. I never talk in my sleep! He's the only person to ever tell me that I have talked in my sleep. All I know is that I have never gotten a good night sleep with him, b/c I either get these weird hallucinations or I have nightmares or something is going on. Anyway...we don't date anymore...thank god. But to answer the question I DO think that certain people might be more intuned to one other...or more "magnetic". I don't know how you would explain this. Brainwaves?? Any suggestions??

Oh yeah! My niece & I dream share more if she sleeps over at my house, & we have a close bond, & I think that it is the bond that does this. Also, one time, I heard Michelle calling me saying,"You forgot something!" I asked my dad,"Did you hear that?" He said no. I went over to Michelle & asked her,"What did I forget?" She said,"You forgot to do your homework!" I asked her partner, "Did you hear her say that?" She said no, & she was right next to her, too! Well, she & I have a friendly bond, so that could be the case again...if that helps...just wondering .

That's interesting nesgirl...but I don't think that is really what is going on here. I had a bf for nearly 4 years that I slept next to all the time and we were VERY close and this never happened to us. Yet this other guy, I wasn't really that close to...but it was always disrupting my dreams. It's the only person this has happened with. So I don't think it has anything to do with how "close" you are. Two people who are very close and "in sync" I believe can simulate dream sharing which is propably what you and your niece experience which is pretty cool. But this guy just plain disrupted my whole sleep pattern, my dreams, it was like I was hallucinating...like there was just something about him that wasn't right. I am going to make another thread about this because I would like some other people's opinions as to whether or not it's possible for individuals to have some sort of weird brainwave/dream interruption due to...who knows what? Similarities in what? I don't know what would cause this? Help?

Well some people can get in your head more than others. I always try to look for the simple reasons first. I have heard of people suddenly having nightmares about a person they hardly know and not knowing why. The people I see in my dreams now at least always seem to be avatars of someone I know. Except for one, a girl I dreamed about and an apparent OBE that prompted me seeking out this site. I've never seen or felt anyone quite like her.

I was going to begin another post about this but I think it does pertain to my original post.

Not only an aura about some people but Charisma, Personal magnetism or charm.
An allure about them, animal magnetism, an appeal or dazzle, they are fascinating.

And an aura much like ambience their atmosphere an emanation a feeling, mood, quality, scent, semblance, suggestion and tone.

What brings this about in some people more than others? Chemicals?
      Just curious. Any suggestions?

Well, I thought I could just put something really simple and pithy here but no. It seems pretty deep to me. Some of it I think has to do with what we think is attractive both externally and internally. Some of it has to do with social norms of what is powerful or exciting, maybe dangerous, or safe. And then if a person has this package they usually have a complete communication package to go with it, verbal and non-verbal. A person who walks with this type of aura may also give off chemical markers that affect us at an unconscious level. So that is more of a socialpsychology type of approach. I guess we could ask the question (it is a common role playing paradigm) of whether there are'nt spirits or something that we don't understand that makes one rise to power and another fall, like fate or something.

I am sort of studying non-verbal communication now and it is amazing what you can learn. For instance a study I just read said that there are certain cultural signals in non-verbal communication that demonstrate sexuality in America. The study found that generally younger participants demonstated their sex signals far too early in a non-verbal encounter. This was a sign to others that they may be unsure of how to follow through in a sexual encounter or that they may be too eager. Some of the signs were: for women a rolling of the pelvis backwards while standing, for men it was a lifting the chest or something, I dont remember all the signs they mentioned but they were not universal. Each culture had their own little signals. Suffice it to say that by the time you make it to eye to eye contact there has already been alot of assessment and messaging going on in most cases.

Now that I think is a great point. Body language!!
Of coarse. Our subconscious probably pick up all sorts of subtle signals from that alone. Add that to the mix of all the other crap we don't know about.?

A lot of air ports are doing extensive traing on peoples body language and then leading them to ask certainn questions. For sucurity and all.

No Have not experienced auras, I'm new to LDs but my thoughts on it are that most life forms including plants and a lot of energy sources emit an aura. Maybe it’s an indication of life? As apposed to being just and image or in your head. Like closer to real_ity.

That does make a lot of sense.
And the higher the life form it would seem that the more intuned you could become of this aura.

Maybe you could be first to invent some kind of scale to name the aura when one is seen. Buy intensity or something. You could call it the Howetzer AraScale or something.
