cool kets! look forward to it.
First of all, you present all your answers in an arrogant way, assuming that just because you say it confidently, everyone will believe you.
Maybe everyone who already wants to believe will do so, because they need only the slightest encouragement, but not me.
I am aware this is like the sheep walking into the wolves' den, but I want to say this anyway.
I think dreams are just the result of actions within my brain. There is no proof that a wormhole is created whenever my dream self moves location, and no proof that my dream characters are anything more than things I've subconsciously created.
Just like everything else in a dream.
I have never had a shared dream, and until I prove to myself conclusively that I have, I will not believe they exist.
About that story:
"The Canadian-American-Mexican-Russian government formed a secret Dream Corps of military psychics. They are also excellent remote viewers.
The invade dreams of people, and make people have nightmares, or may often just be doing surveillance. Their ultimate goal is to kill people through inducing nightmares.
This has always been their goal. It is considered the perfect murder in the Assassin community. One who performs such a feat is a master Assassin, and a perfect tool of the Illuminati."
I grinned at this.
Seriously, this looks like excellent trolling. It's absolute nonsense.
Show me proof of this. Oh what's that, there is none?
I mean Jesus Christ, I could make up a story (although not as ridiculous as this, probably) and say it were real, with absolutely ZERO evidence, and people would believe it.
You come here with an insane story about mythological beings, and... God, it just boggles my mind.
Let me explain:
Hey everyone! I've unlocked the secrets of the dream world!
Question: are these secrets real?
Answer: of course they fucking are, next question.
Question: please tell me the story o' wise one
Answer: sure I will
Once, there was a great being called O'nash. He bound together the great spirit plane and material plane, to let the Koro beings flood between both. They were the guardians of the world, and practicing deadly ninja arts, they exterminated terrible spirit creatures.
An evil spirit called O'nash-nether also moved into our world, when O'nash bound the places together.
He sent his energy into the first sentient humans, and spied on them in their dreams.
But the Koro waged war on him, and a great battle was fought.
Gz'rhashakash, the strongest of O'nash-nether's servants, weaved a web around the energy O'nash-nether had sent, and connected the humans.
Gz'rhashakash decided he would fight for O'nash instead, and allowed the humans to connect through O'nash-nether's energy.
Still to this day, Gz'rhashakash hides in our dreams, fearful of O'nash-nether and his followers.
That is why the Catholic-Christian-Mormon order invades our dreams, to find The Betrayer. They go kill people in their sleep, because... well, they just do.
Can you see how stupid this sounds? I just made that bunch of crap up, and to me it's no different to your story.
Anyone can invent a tale, and say it's the history of the world, but in reality they have no proof or evidence for it being so.
Oh, and by the way, when I had an operation as a child, I was kidnapped. Because everything anyone says on the internet is true, and it certainly couldn't be childish delusions, as a result of anaesthetic.
I mean, GOD.
Why are there people who assume the most ridiculous of two scenarios is true?
It would be like going to a crime scene, and they say:
"It was either a heart attack, OR he was assaulted by robot pirate ninjas from within"
"Must be those dreaded robot pirate ninjas! Curse you, robot pirate ninjas. Curse you."
Or:
"Well that was either a ghost spirit from another universe, or a dead skin cell floating on my eyeball. While the latter has been proven, I like the idea of ghost spirits better, so I'll pretend that's what it was"
Teach me, teach me o' wise one. You know so much, and I know so little. :wino:
That's a really cool story! Thanks for sharing. I want to go to that O'nash world in a dream. I don't think it sounds stupid. I think it sounds really cool. I am interested in reading your Dream Journal.
Anyway, I should probably have added at the end of my first post: Don't take my word for it, do the research for yourself. Of course, the only way is to explore the dream world. So, the first step is dream recall, you have that. The second step is lucidity. You have that. The third step is dream travel, which is your current goal. Since you want to go to a fantasy world, go to the Planet of the Dream Warriors, the planet of Gawn, then report back the results.
I am looking forward to reading your Dream Journal and see if you experience anything similar as Raven Knight and I did in this Shared Dream:
Planet of the Dream Warriors
BUT,
You cannot read this DJ entry until you make it to the Planet of the Dream Warriors. That way, you will know you were not influenced by the DJ entries.
It may take you weeks or even months to make it to this planet in your dream. You may get it the first try.
No matter how long it takes, please persist in going to the Planet of the Dream Warriors. I am really looking forward to reading your DJ entry about this dream! After you log it in your DJ, copy and paste it as a reply to this post, and compare the three dreams. Happy dreaming!
Meh. If it means that much to you, I'll try to go there before reading the post.
It does sound rather silly though. But hey, like you said, I'll try and do the research.
Dude... he said right there, loud and clear, that he just made that up to try to prove his point. There's no such fucking thing! How could you even BELIEVE something that he made up is true?! If you're referring to a dream in your Inner World, I see what you mean, but if you think something like what he made up actually exists... :|
It would change surprising little about how I live my life. It's the macrocosm microcosm, thing. Even if my life was a dream, I would be no more real than any of the 'dream characters.' We would all just be manifestations of the same entity and so I could appreciate them as sentient life. And if my actions still affected the drea world, how is that different on a fundamental level from my actions affecting a physical world? In the end we are all part of the same entity, anyway. It is all a matter of definition and scale. I can define a chair as it's own thing. It has an essence that makes it unique from every other chair. OR I can define the row of chairs as it's own entity. That row of chairs has some inherent quality making it 'it.' Or I could define the essence of the building the chairs were in, or the country, or the world, the galaxy, or the universe. How far do you want to zoom in the microscope? A skin cell is as much a living being as I am. What I am saying is that our lives and how they are defined are fairly arbitrary and that doesn't change if we are in a dream or in the physical world. It is like when people use the simulation argument, itself an extention of the Descartes demonic problem. I will respond the same as Descartes, essentially, I know that I exist. That is what matters most so I would live the exact same way even if we were in a simulation. The nature of the universe doesn't define my interaction with it.
^^^^^^^^Totally right spockman
but the nature of the universe we think to be true settles our possibilities and limitations while interacting with it, i guess it does define the interactions of us with it.
as long as we believe in something it becomes or stays true to us, reality.
i just noticed this while being sick with a chronic illness, that i brought up over myself. its a dream i created myself, though not being conscious of that.
after noticing that, i know i can either keep staying in this dream and let the pain come over me and get caught by it, or recognize it as a dream and start believing in that because of some inner convincement and step out of it.
we define the dreams we call reality, so im working on a positive dream for my intestine at the moment, not trying to hold on to the old dream i created once, breaking the chains now.
I prefer to embrace the utterly nonsensical and insanity of all these dream stuff.... simply because it's much more exciting than embracing the mundane and limiting views of most people on this planet.
It's not a matter of belief, it's a matter of focusing your attention on it. You can still argue against something you don't believe in, but in order for that to happen, it still has to exist on some level. Therefore it exists whether you believe in it or not, as long as you sustain it's existence with your attention.
I'll give a little trick into the secret of having shared dreams: neither believe it nor disbelieve it. Just pretend it's real in a pretend fashion. Just act "as if," it were true and act accordingly. Don't take it seriously... Just have fun and see what happens.
im with you there. i think it goes both in hands. i think this existence we are talking about is made up by our beliefs (conscious or not), thats how i explain myself the barrier of becoming lucid. dreams, wether its "real" life or during the regeneration phase of my body, are what you believe them to be. the difference between waking life and "dreaming life" is that i got a history of development here in waking life, supported by emotional and sensorial happenings that make me feel the viability of this experience (im not that advanced in lucid dreaming yet).
if i look at those near death experiences by people who believe in hell or heaven, i see that their beliefs formed the way they experience this happening and because of that conviction, they focused their attention on happenings they believe to become true while dying. so they make up their own dream, just like we all do every day and night.
THIS MAN GETS IT.
Nomad, if I had even the slightest belief in shared dreaming, it is now completely and utterly destroyed. You really are mental, and I strongly believe it is very disrespectful to everyone who believes in shared dreams. You have crushed hopes. I have the very strong feeling you are either a drug addict or suffering from mental conditions or simply just trolling.
You sir, are a disrespect to lucid dreamers. I bid you good day.
But it's still not about beliefs. Even if you don't believe in heaven, but that description of that idea is the only one you have of the afterlife, then that's what you default to. Everything you know and have experienced becomes a lego block that your dreams are constructed from. Even if you think heaven is the stupidest thing you ever heard, you could still end up there in a dream state no matter what your beliefs.
Go easy on the guy! I'll admit he's not the perfect poster boy for shared dreaming, but the fact remains he still has a lot of shared dreams, no matter how crazy he may be. I don't agree with most of he theories on the matter, but I can't deny he can do it.
say what you like about nomad but he has been far more respectful and dignified than the people who are attacking him. personally i think he is one of the few people around here that actually get it, after all how can you prove that one day you will not just wake up and this whole life had just been a dream. it can neither be proved or disproved, just discussed, hopefully in a more respectful manner
Wow. Go easy on the compliments! I don't want to get a big head! I am totally, 100% insane! Batty as a Aunt Edna with all 1000 cats. You are correct in everything you perceive.
Please don't try shared dreaming. It can be very.... painful.
"Poster Boy for Shared Dreaming"? HAHAHAHA! Thanks, man. You always crack me up.
You guys are all so nice.
Sarcasm, is it not?
