Thread: Auroras

hmmm ive had a similair thing happen to me. Last year on the night before the anniversery of Hurricane Katrina i had a dream that i was in the middle of a hurricane, and then the next day i saw on the news that it was the anniversery of hurricane katrina. I dont know how it happened but it did.

Haven't dreamt of auroras lately, but have been dreaming of a lot of natural disasters (hurricane, tsunami, and lightning in one night)

actually, not too long before this happened I dreamed that clouds of stuff were coming out of the sun, CMEs or something. I've read that these can cause auroras.

This morning, we were talking and he saw a news segment on CNN about solar flares causing auroras in the south and was quite surprised. "Dude! I had a dream about those last night!"

In his dream, he was in Alaska with his family so technically he DID see the aurora borealis. I kind of freaked out with excitement at that point, both because of the shared dreaming and the real auroras.

So: Crazy coincidence, or are our minds picking up solar flares subconsciously? This morning was the first time I had heard anything about auroras for an extremely long time.

Also, has anyone else had any dreams about auroras over the past couple of days? That would be even MORE awesome.

That's really cool that you had a shared dream. I did not have a dream of auroras, though.

I had an aurora dream at the same time. I usually go for a walk at night because I live in a small town and certain nights the stars out here are brilliant. Naturally, I was dreaming about this routine but I remember seeing a small group of stargazers looking up beyond some trees around the corner from where I was. I ran forward, pardoned my way through to the front and saw the waves of aurora dancing on the horizon.

I didn't notice that I was dreaming. I remember being utterly confused, wondering why these lights were so far south. The last thing I remember was watching a person fall upside-down from the sky. I ran toward the direction I thought they were falling but don't remember the rest of the dream, if there was one.

Then I saw a news report on the solar flares and thought "That's bizarre. I wonder if anyone else had the same dream?"

That's so cool!

I wonder if lots of people had aurora dreams and just forgot about them. I'm glad someone else had one, at least. This warrants further research.

Sometimes I feel as though I'd like to research aspects of my dreams. Wondering about it was as far as I ever got since I'm not sure what else a person can do? I don't believe in the symbols some people put into dreams such as teeth that fell out having a particular meaning. It's funny, I thought about posting the same idea here but the whole thing went to the back of my mind until I saw this and remembered. Keep in touch.
