Two movies I have seen recently that made me think about lucid dreaming the whole time are Avatar and Shutter Island (this one is scary). |

LDs-10
Waking Life is pretty popular on DV I think, it's great if you have a bit of patience and like philosophy |
|
Maybe, just for a second, you'll be awestruck.
...do you feel it to?
I know it's been canceled now, but I've gotten multiple LDs from watching episodes of the TV show, Heroes. Particularly the earlier episodes...they're sooooo good. I even found them to help me a lot with dream control, since I had a solid image in my mind for each ability. |

I generally find that things which inspire me make me more likely to lucid dream. Although, watching a movie right before bed/falling asleep during a movie usually hinders LDing for me. |

"...and we want punks in the palace, 'cos punks got the loveliest dreams..." - A Silver Mt. Zion
It was the best of times. It was the end of times.
Thanks guys for all your replies.I will try some of the movies when I have the time. |

You're probably better off reading about it. Watching TV or using a computer will just keep you awake. Some people mentioned Vanilla Sky. I first learned about lucid dreaming and became interested in it after seeing this movie. However the movie isn't really about lucid dreaming. |
|
I have actually become lucid after watching vannila Sky. From seeing the sky in my dream it look like monets painting and i became lucid |

I always end up thinking of Altered States. Tho more horror than just science fiction It makes me think of what our brains are really capable of. |

The first season of "Heroes" was just awsome. I watched the entire 1st season in like one week back when I got Netflix on my Xbox a few years ago. I would suggest the first Matrix movie, Avatar, maybe Iron Man or Star Wars, and don't forget that "Inception" comes out in a few weeks. It is a big budget movie by the director of "The Dark Knight" about controlling or stealing dreams or something. That movie is required viewing material for all DV members. |

-start date: 3/31/10, current LD count: 131
Goals: [X] successfully stabalize a LD, explore dream world, and learn to fly
[ ] Discover the source of consciousness, find my spirit guide, experience absolute cosmic unity
Sometimes if I fall asleep while watching a movie, the dialogue from the movie will enter into my dream which makes me think that movies to do with altered reality would help. Besides some of the opnes mentioned above: |

I can't wait for inception to come out, I've been following it since the first trailer came out. As far as I know (from the trailers) it's about a company that steals ideas from other people's dreams (shared lucid dreaming), but now they need to do the opposite, plant an idea in someone's mind through a dream. |

Spoiler for Goals:
Oops I just noticed that someone mentioned the movies I did before me. Sorry lol. That's why I should always read the entire topic before posting hahaha. |
