Hmm...I used to always jump when my alarm went off, however, in awhile i got used to it and didn't jump. So one way is to just keep going till you get used to it, but that could take awhile.. |

I read up on these methods a couple of nights ago but just cant seem to get them to work. I set 3 different alarms using the same sound, to wake me up after I go to sleep; one after 5 hours, one after 6 hours and one after 7 hours. They are all loud however I only ever find myself waking up to the third alarm at which i instantly jolt awake and ruin my chances at DEILD. Has anyone got any tips to overcome this problem? |

Yeah, thats what i was thinking of doing. The problem is i always go to bed so sure that im going to wake up and not move or open my eyes but by the time the alarm rings all memory of that is gone |

Well, I can offer a tip on how to do just the DEILD method, though it doesn't go along with CAN-WILD's use of alarms and is therefore outside of your planned procedures: I've always perceived the DEILD method to be an incredibly simple method, almost a stepping-stone kind of method to get you from being awake to being lucid very quickly and effectively. I find it this way because I do it when I naturally wake up in the morning, after getting "enough sleep", and going right back to sleep while (groggily) visualizing a dream scene I want to be in. It's very simple to do it this way, requires little effort to pull off, and of course is the golden link for chain-lucids! |

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
That sounds like a pretty good method now you mention it |

No, it's not 'cause you're too aware, it's cause you need to lay there longer and let yourself fall asleep. Being too awake might be your problem there, but I'd sooner attribute it to not waiting long enough to go back to sleep. |

That depends on the circumstances that surround your waking up: |

Thanks for the advice man. I'l let you know if I had any success when I try it =) Yeah I guess it's just keeping at it even if you think you are failing. With the alarm method I could never seem to find the right balance, the first two alarms wouldn't even wake me up wheras the third one made me too awake. Bad luck I guess. I'l try a combination of the two though; keep trying to DEILD with the alarms and then when those (probably) fail I'l remember to stay still with my eyes closed when I actually wake up. |
