I think someone's been hitting the crack pipe a bit too much!

      no, seriously,

Exploring this led me to the realization that the difference between LDs and OBEs is a subjective. What is the one differentiating factor??? To me the one difference between them is how you view and experience them at the time.[/b]
Well, I would really like to believe that LDs and OBEs are two physically (or 'astrophysically') different things. I mean, wouldn't it suck if OBEs were really just lucid dreams of people seeing themselves leaving their body instead of REALLY leaving their body in somekind of spiritual/physical form?

It's like the alien thing. We've seen so many sketches and movies of the short, skinny, big-eyed, green figures of "aliens" that we are now trained to picture that image whenever someone says they've seen an alien.

Or how about seeing that bright light at the end of the tunnel when nearing death? Do people see that because they've HEARD that is what you see when dying, or is it something that is really there (scientists actually say it could be caused by nerves dying in the brain - but that's beside the point).

Having heard an OBE described as floating away from your body and seeing a string connecting you to your physical self now kind of ruins it for me because now I can have a lucid dream with that image in my mind, but really only be in an LD rather than a TRUE OBE--

But what the hell am I going on and on about, sh*t, I've only had two LDs, what do I know?! I just needed to vent-

I have often tried to use commads such as "Increase Lucidity" and increase clarity, both times they have worked, but i wasn't ready for the consequences and woke up because of the sudden change in "crazyness??" However, I often find it hard to speak in my LD's, cause i have enough trouble as it is walking around, its always easier for me to just fly.
      "You will cease to exist!!"

*GASP* "But existing is all I practically do!!!"

Well, I wasn't really questioning the lucid commands part - I think merely asking yourself if you are dreaming itself is a form of lucid command. I was just commenting on the view of LD vs OBE.

I should have known, I have that same view I think it depends on how you look at obe's I think I had one once I was in my roo and it looked exactly like it should I could here I fan blowing and see the alarm clock, as it stade the same all the time but I thought it was an oobe thus it shale remain an obe to me. I have also been half way in the waking world and half way in the dreaming would, I fell asleep rate before my eyes, and had a short image of me walking in a park, and then I opened them and I was awake.
