Very few people can have lucid dreams everyday. For me I just try to have atleast 2 a month. A good month, I have more than 4. |

I learned what LDing was a bit less than a year ago. I tried too hard to do it, doing all the fancy techniques like wilds and doing reality checks and keeping a journal, but having only a few lucid dreams in that time. |

It does happen to just about anyone who really give up. I usually have an LD after I give up and I start back up again to LD. My observation of my dreams is that they deal in the past rather than the present so by giving up LDing it becomes part of history and I dream it eventually. |

I'm like you. Dry spells (very annoying) and then whammy, three LDs in a single night or two or three days of lucid dreaming. |

Wow, this is EXACTLY what I have been experiencing lately as well. Had my first lucid dream about 3 weeks ago and had 4 that week and none since. I was beginning to think something was wrong with me and that maybe the lucid dreams I had were all in my head and never happened at all. Good to know others have experienced this as well! |
|
This happens to me a lot too... I will sometimes have 2 or 3 lucid dreams in a row, or in one week and then nothing which can vary from a week to 4 weeks. Has anyone found any sort of correlation between what is going on when you get the lucid dreams and the difference (If any) when you don't? Its very frustrating isnt it! |

Many things that come from me often eject in spurts... I mean bursts. |

Maybe replying to this thread knocked something loose cuz last night I had a lucid dream...lol |

i found a way that for me seemed to fix my problem if anyone is interested. it was the night after xmas day and i have been on a vacation that has definitely been the best vacation ive had. I was having a practice conversation with santa clause in my head(i like having practice conversations with random people for some reason) and i said "i had such a great xmas and i am so thankful. but wouldnt it be great if to finish it off i could find my dream guide?" |

I usually have an LD or so every night, with the occasional skip. However, they're usually pretty dark (brightness wise) and low-energy. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

well as you can see, this is more common then you might think at first. the thing about being spotty with your ld's is that most people dont follow the same routine all the time.. if you were to follow the same routine day after day your chance of lucid dreaming would increase 10 fold. its all about a routine ive found. if i go to sleep at the same time, stop eating at the same time.. etc etc i find i have more lucid dreams consistently. the problem is when i dont have school i tend to stay up until 4 in the morning... which kind of messes up my biological clock and kills my lucid dreaming. so its all up to routine in my humble opinion... |

You just further confirmed my observations about dream formation. You control your thoughts before the dream and you control the dream because the dream will be about the thoughts. But...this technique requires quite a substantial amount of mental discipline to keep a focal point of streaming thougths within the parameters of lucid dreaming or theme to dream about. I purposely kept my thoughts about the theme I want and got it in the dream but was mentally exhausting so I let it go and had another dream with the same theme inside because I was thinking of using a different way to LD right before the dream. |

I think everybody here can say that once you stop thinking about LD's, that's usually when you have one. I believe we try too hard to have them and once we take a break then they do seem to come naturally. I also believe that there is some kind of balance to having them, over doing it and trying too hard is obvious not going to have a great effect. But taking your time and letting them come more natural will. |
