If rcs have helped you become lucid how did they

Last night i went to dream views and studied up some, and i was thinking about doing an rc before bed. So after closing out for the night i did an rc right before i went to sleep, and i had two lucid dreams last night, I've started to do rcs more during the day as well, i guess it really helped me because, it reminded me to do a reality check in my dreams. The rc that i did was, i liked at both of my hands, my right hand was normal but, on of the fingers on my left hand was bent awkwardly, my hands are normal in real life. The first thing though that gave me a tip that i was dreaming was, i saw something out of the ordinary. I was in some house i don't know if it was my childhool house or what, but it did look similar, but that wasn't the first thing i noticed. When the dream started, i was laying in bed under the covers, and i saw a black cat that resembled in size of a black panther. I thought to myself, i don't have a pet, so i knew not immediately because i was afraid and hid under the couch, but after a few seconds i knew it was a dream but i was still some what afraid. But then i got out of the bed and a few seconds later, the dream ended. The dream may have only lasted a few minutes, but at least i was lucid because i totally knew it was a dream, almost right from the beginning. I can't remember being lucid this week, but of course i did dream, all i have to do now is work on prolonging dreams. So if reality checks have worked for you, how did they work? And how much do you rc during the day?

RCs have worked alot for me. Commonly, I'll notice something in my dream world that just isn't right, so I RC and then I know I am dreaming.

Also, I have been with my friends and was just joking around saying, "Man am I dreaming?" I then laughed and nonchalantly did a nose pinch RC, only to find out I was really dreaming. I couldn't believe it, so I did like 20 RCs and finally i had to accept it. It had seemed so real.

Here is a tip that I used to use whenever I did RCs during the day (don't need to do them now). Whenever you RC during waking life, look around at your environment and actually pretend it is a dream and not real. Actually convince yourself that you may be dreaming and then perform the RC. This will help simulate a similar experience in dreams. Good Luck!

      Yes - all the time.

I normally become aware im dreaming when my dreams get odd enough to tip me off that Im dreaming = a RC is just a finall confirmation.

I use light switches if one is close by - If they dont work or disintegrate then I know im dreaming.

My main RC is to fly - im an expert LD flyer - If Im pretty sure its a dream then I just focus on flying straight up - if I take off then Im dreaming.
Every Man and Every Woman is a Star - There is no god but Man.

The word of sin is restriction - Thou hast no right but to do what thy will.

Yeah, that's usually how it works for me too. Plus, breathing through my nose while holding it closed is a great feeling, lol.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

I don't RC a lot in waking life so normally when I do RC, I'm already pretty sure that I'm dreaming. Doing so anyway seems to help stabilize the situation and helps to make me 100 percent sure that I'm dreaming.

It did happen twice recently though that I RC'd in real life being sure that I was dreaming only to find out that I wasn't.

Only a few times have RCs made me realize I'm dreaming (usually I just use them to confirm). When they did work, I was thinking about lucid dreaming a lot that day and doing RC's on occasion and then in my dream I just sort of half heartedly RC'd assuming everything was real and was stunned to find out I was actually in a dream.
