Every time I have tried to WILD I get to a point where I feel heavy, my heart races on/off, I get lots of annoying twitches, and I feel extremely uncomfortable (urge to roll over, swallow, itches).I stay still as a stone statue the whole way through. After that, nothing happens, no matter how impossibly long I wait.
If you are trying to WILD when you first go to sleep all I can say is good luck! I laid still for over 2 hours once and had the same results as you. WBTB is your best bet. I'd try setting an alarm for 4 or 5 hours after falling asleep and then attempting the WILD.
It sounds like you're pretty close. I'm no expert though. Have you felt any form of vibration? that's usually the tell tale sign tha your getting there, because it travels to your feet and up your body. I've gotten to this point numerous times, but decided not to go into SP.
Like I said, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure what I said above is correct. and about the post above me, he is right about WBTB and trying SP before bed; it's MUCH easier when you wake yourself in the middle of the night, or actually deprive yourself of sleep for one day.
Lol it may seem impossibly long your laying down there but at times it's actually been only 5-10 minutes.
FULL SP is when you actually try to move your hand but you can't right? and partial SP is when you feel heavy but if u tried you could move your hand? just need some clarification. ty

Same thing happens to me when i try to WILD right before going to bed and fail. Try waking up during ur REM cycle and then try to WILD. During that time it should be easier for you.
This is how it is for me, I've still only had 3 LD's after nearly 3 years of sparse effort. :?
I've definitely stayed up all morning waiting. It's NOT fun, nor worth it.
I have a feeling some of these come into play for me, some more than others.

I definitely can relate to the talking to myself, but I find when I do concentrate on something like my breathing for such a long time I drift off into oblivion and the next thing I wake up with or without a dream.
I've also recall reading awhile back that some people really are strongly recommended to start with DILD. Then if you get the hang of it, try WILD. All 3 of mine have been DILD so far too. My 2nd problem is that no matter how weird my dream gets I don't question reality? Even if I'm in the daily routine of RC's.

If you wait for SP, you probably won't experience it because you're thinking to yourself to wait for these to happen. Remember, you're trying to trick your body into sleeping.
The best idea is to just wait and use various methods to keep conscious.
Some people do not even feel SP before going into a WILD, so it is unreliable as a way to track your progress.
