      Sounds and dreaming?

I've noticed that when i listen to the tv or a simple conversation between people when trying to fall asleep it helps create HH and auditory hallucinations alot more. Its like I "apply" the sounds to a scene in my head and play it through. Then i find that sometimes what im imagining starts flashing in front of me. I have yet to enter a full dream through this but im planning on seeing if i can sometimes soon. Does anyone else get this? Just curious

I usually listen to NPR or the classical station when I sleep, and I've noticed in some dreams I'll hear people talking about something (usually it's garbled) or some type of classical music. It would probably make a good RC but for some reason I haven't ever done that yet. I guess I'll start now that I've thought of it.

Ya that happens to me. Sometimes its just a daydream and sometimes a dream and i hear the sounds outside of my head in my dream. Its like i paint a dream scene from the sounds i hear. They help me create a foundation for the dream i suppose

Music inspires visualization for me too. It's great though, because I listen to a huge variety of purely instrumental songs (I find songs with vocals, especially mainstream ones dilute visualization assisting ability) and for lots of them I get great feedback. I just close my eyes and I'm soaring over mountains or on a ship in a hurricane (a particularly potent song for me called stormy seas by david orr).

I <3 my epic music. I never fall asleep listening to it but sometimes it gets suck in my head and then it's almost as good (although, not as driving, and I never see the same sort of stuff, or as vividly from songs in my head.
