Was i close to WILD? please help cause this was strange

Last night i attempted a WILD for the second time.

I was really tired, so i layed in bed still and concentrated on breathing. Random thoughts came to my head but i just quickly cast them away.

Anyway, no hypnagogic imagery or anything like that.

My body wasn't vibrating or anything and i didn't get any electrical impulse that signaled that my body was asleep. My body did feel a little bit numb, not vibrating, but it was numb to the point i couldn't tell what position they were in.

So im attempting this wild, and out of no where i hear my mother scream my name, it was loud as hell, and startled me, but not to the point of breaking my concentration...it was just surprising and i just noticed it. A little while after that i just went to sleep.

But it sounded EXACTLY like my mothers voice and its EXACTLY how she screams my name.

and she was in the other room sleep, so i know for a fact that it was in my head.

What was this? Or was i close to WILD?

nah i think i just went to sleep after that, cause that shit kind of freaked me out lol.

is that supposed to happen during WILD? Is that my consciousness slipping into my subconscious you think?

      [EDIT]
      From wikipedia

      ----------------------
"Auditory hallucinations are also a result of attempting a Wake-initiation of lucid dreams (WILD) which is a way people try to put themselves into a Lucid Dream"

      sweet. Im getting closer.

Yeah, the first time I attempted to control a sleep paraysis episode I my body go numb and then heard someone whisper my name loudly in my ear, obviously it startled me, but I knew it was a hallucination and kept concentrating on breathing and soon enough I was walking down my hallway and flying out the door....

      Your almost there...

Sounds like you were getting close to an LD. I've only ever experienced auditory hallucinations before, but, mine were beeping

I've had this before, once when trying to WILD, and lots of other times when I was just trying to sleep.

I think it's the auditory version of those dreamlets where you fall down a couple of steps and frighten yourself awake to a rush of adrenaline. That's my theory anyway
      10 LDs and counting

I've never had a WILD before but that is definitely one of the things that makes me keep my distance from it. Just wondering what I'm going to hear and if it'll startle me... It's a scary thought, but I'll still keep trying to WILD.

i have had like 3 WILDs and fortunately enough i only see random things instead of hearing things. If i heard things (especially someone whispering my name), i would probably jump up, run across the hallway and yell and wake everyone up

yea you were close and should try to generate an image out of the sounds you hear and good luck getting used to them =)
