      Sleep Paralysis goes BOOM

Yeah, like the title says, at a point when I'm WILD-ing I suddenly hear a big banging sound and it's like my body gets a big rush. Like a ski-lift suddenly pulls me extremely hard and I really hear an explosive sound for a split second. When I have this my heartbeat's speed raises while my mind is still relaxed. I was just wondering what is this feeling called, and can someone provide me more information on this subject?

By the way don't give replies like : "Yeah this is just sleep paralysis onset...etc." I know that this is sleep paralysis, I was just wondering what this big bang was.

RAS chemical signal suddenly entering the temporal lobes often causes a boom noise.

Do you perhaps have a link from wikipedia or another site which can explain me more about this?

      Thanks in advance.

Nope. Academia still consider lucid dreaming to some sort of rare mental illness and thus don't really research it. Those that do research it are crackpots for the most part. All I can tell you is that with my very limited knowledge of neurology, I would expect auditory hallucinations if the temporal lobes received a sleep signal from the RAS while the person was still conscious.

I don't have academic knowledge of above but that sound for me like the step through the threshold. From my experience many times when I had successful OOBE I could hear something like a thunder in the box. After that I was out of my body. When didn't success I had my heart rate speeding fast.
However recently I didn't have any of classic symptoms - just thought "that's the right time, let's do it" and I was in OOBE state right there.

Looks like you are on the right path - just practice, don't panic.

It doesn't sound like you were experiencing SP at all =/ SP isn't necessary for having Hypnagogic Sounds or HI.
