Floating toward my head?

I don't really have any other way to describe this sensation... lately, when I try to WILD, I'll notice that once I start getting strange sensations, it feels as if (excuse me for lack of a better term) my soul, my dream body,... I like to think of it simply as my consciousness, though it's a consciousness of my entire body... seems to be shifting toward my head; pushing at the boundaries of my body, struggling to break free of my physical body. It seems I'm on the verge of an OOBE, I just can't have one. It's like I can feel my consciousness trying to separate from my body, but it can't quite make it out, like my skin is keeping it in and holding it back, but not without giving a bit and stretching out a bit... the sensation always occurs upward. Does anyone else experience this or have any idea if this could be a preliminary stage on the way to an OOBE?

i have felt this sensation many, many times before, and the times i did break my soul loose, i had an out of body experience. when this happens for the first couple of times, your mind tends to race when its happening. don't let you mind think !! in other words, don't focus any attention on words or any kind of thinking, do your best to clear your mind. what i do is think of a beat of my favorite song, i reccomend a soothing, slow beat or instrumental.

I'm not talking about any pseduo-science nonsense that's questionable in the least. Good observation, Mad Stratter, and nice advice from LucidStriver. This is how I push myself over the edge, by recollecting body awareness in a point above my head. If I'm close to sleep paralysis this will zap me fully into it. If I'm already paralysed it generates the dreaming body. As for how it works, I guess I should keep my pseudoscience for myself.

Considering your post seem to be heavily related to an "Out Of Body Experience." or "Astral Projection." and the fact that you even asked more on the topic of Astral Projection. When someone discusses the falling sensation when doing a WILD, you don't send them to "Beyond Dreaming" cuz they're a looney who thinks they're falling into another deep, dark dimension.
